Illusionist Shard - The Bar
Suddenly the center of attention he was feeling not at ease with himself, the familiar feeling from earlier in the evening. It was hard to put into words, without sounding reminiscent of times forgotten, philosophical, or even bitter and depressed. He looked down into the glass of water he had acquired through the barkeep, swirling the fluids round and round in his hand, as he eyed his reflection in the water.
"You know I don't know who I am right Typhoon? That I am just some random guy called Gallant." He said slowly, allowing the tone of his voice to set the mood of the conversation. "You also know as well as I do that everything is not as it seems in this city, that it is all just an illusion, or rather THE illusion."
He stopped once more, not sure if he should continue such treacherous talk in front of the young girl. She was new to this conversation, and it might be best to let her hide in the comfort of her reality no matter how false it may be.
"Decartes once said, <<Je pense, Je suis.>> usually translated into I think, therefore I am. That no matter the illusion he knew he was alive and here because of his all seeing "I", but where does that leave me? Someone who is not sure of himself, having no "I" in the middle of an illusion. Am I even real?" he let the thought hover along the length of the bar before sipping his water.
"Once seen, it cannot be unseen, how do you cope with it Typhoon?"
