Eli ran to where her allies were taking out her crossbow now understanding that even with all her combat experience she couldn't win this fight alone. From now on she is going to listen to Styrder very seriously and stand by him closely. Until she knows how to deal with these demons efficiently.

Reaver doesn't flip out and actually considers his options. At first he was amazed and even a little envious of the Corrupted's endurance and lack of pain. "That would is a handy ability to have however is it worth someone's humanity?" He asks Alma as he loosens his grip on one of his axes before tossing it at the Corrupted's head. "Mr. Corrupted sir, why don't you explain to me how this no pain and almost invinciblitiy works." He yells at the creature trying to lure it's attention away from Marco and possibly get an answer.

Lyn, in a rather surprising gesture of laziness, stretched her arms up over her head, sending rivets of cracking and popping through her bones.

"Oof, uh...much better..." she grunted, licking her teeth. It was a challenge not to yawn. Fear should have been brimming through her. And indeed, it was: a numb feeling in the pit of her stomach, that only seemed to pulsate under having to witness this destruction. The village seemed eerie without the sounds of battle to play companion to the smoldering flames, and the decor of broken arrows and marks from blades and maces on the walls. She could swore she even spied a maiden's bloodied kerchief pinned to a wood post. But it was all comparable to a picture: The walls of Castle Saviore's famous Hall of Arts, a long corridor in the north end of the castle, were decorated with many oil paintings, colored enamel masterpieces and silk tapestries that depicted scenes of fire and suffering. So perhaps it was thinking of it as an art -- a sort of living poem on war -- that could make it easier to digest.

An unhealthy way to cope, but it stopped her from looking pale and glum.

She looked toward the house Kazumi and Sort had raided, and sensed blackness rolling through them -- and her -- just a second later. The girl took a step forward, narrowing her eyes to peer through the doorway. Past the duo's armed silhouettes, she saw...someone. Someone familiar. Lyn's bored smirk weighed into a frown. Her heart skipped a beat, and she felt her limbs stiffen with some godless emotion. Again, she stepped forward -- gingerly -- until she became visible behind Sort and Kazumi, in the doorway. Her hand tightened around the grip of her blade. For the first time in a while, something other than a bored confidence could be seen playing across what part of her face, shadowed by her low hanging hood. She tilted her head up, interest brimming in her silver-blue eyes. She reached out a hand, placing it on Kazumi's shoulder and giving him a tug.

"Hey, you two. Back up..." she would command the two gently, motioning with a hand for them to back out the door. Given their expressions, it seemed their own instincts would agree with them. The white haired woman radiated danger.

Whether they'd like it or not, she'd step ahead of them, slowly pushing them out the building back by backpedaling.

"Is that you, Luna?" she questioned the white-haired woman slowly.

"Leaving so soon, hunters..?
The woman continued walking towards them and you couldn't help but notice a katana, a razor-sharp sword of Japanese origin in a sheath held in her left hand. That must've been what that had cut all those Corrupted into half so cleanly. Katanas were renowned for their clean cuts. And this woman walking towards you two..she could definitely use it, judging by all the mutilated Corrupted lying dead on the floor, no?
"Hey, relax. We're not so different. I mean..I was human. Once."
The woman smiled coldly as she moved to draw her katana. Lyn came forward at this point and the woman's eyes widened with some surprise. Her hand gripped the hilt of the katana, drawing it a single inch out of it's enamel sheath.
"That is my name, Lyn."
Lunalesca nodded slowly, a sad smile drawing upon her beautiful features. She drew the katana slowly, inch by inch out of it's scabbard.
"Lyn..you and the rest of the hunters should run. My body and my soul is not mine to control..I can only obey Master Aridan."
The katana-wielding hand suddenly jerked, moving Luna into an offensive stance. The woman winced, closing her eyes briefly in pain. Her eyes reopened..and they were the color of blood. Bloody crimson red. Her lips moved to form a single word.
"Run."

Alma looked at Reaver incredulously, her expression obviously wondering why you would even consider turning Corrupted.
"Reaver. If being a puppet to Aridan is your goal, Corruption would be perfect for you. And I wouldn't think twice about putting you down."
Alma said, turning away from Reaver. She rushed forward as Marco screamed another warcry, shooting that grappling-hook weapon of his directly at the Corrupted's exposed heart. Her own body blurred as she moved, matching the speed of Marco's hook. Her speed was..unnatural, that much could be said. She seemed to just slow a little, letting Marco's grappling hook pierce directly through the demon's heart. The hunter darted directly under the chain of Graveworm, her hands getting a good grip on the chain. The axe that Reaver had hurled earlier smashed into the Corrupted's head, lodging itself nicely in between the demon's eyes.
"Rest."
Alma muttered, jumping up and planting both feet in the Corrupted's chest with a perfectly placed dropkick. The action pushed both Alma and the Corrupted away from each other, the hunter spinning once in the air and landing almost noiselessly on her feet beside Marco. In her hand was Graveworm's spearhead, a large demon heart impaled on it.
"And that's what happens to Corrupted, Reaver."
Alma pushed Graveworm's spearhead into Marco's hand, before turning and walking out of the house. It seemed like she was angry. Angry that anyone could even entertain the thought of giving themselves up to Corruption.

Eli managed to make it out of the house without the mysterious girl giving chase. You were pretty damn sure that she wasn't human. Not after seeing how much strength she had thrown that bucket with..
"Hey! Don't leave already!"
The white-haired girl stepped out of the house after Eli, a rather pouty look on her face. Eli ran up to where Alma was, standing just outside the house that she had went in earlier.
"Eli? What's wro-"
Alma stopped abruptly as she stared at the white haired girl standing at the doorstep of the house, the girl returning Alma's own surprised stare.
"Alma?"
"Mex..?"
Both the women said at once. Alma blinked and raised a hand, rubbing her eyes and then looking again at Mex. She was still there. What..the hell was happening? Stryder had told her that Mex had died already..oh. Her red eyes narrowed. A Greater Corrupted.
"Hey, Alma..well..yeah. You should ru-"
Mex never got the chance to finish her sentence as black shadows streamed into existence just directly above her, a man(Muchitsujo) striking down at with her a silver scythe as he dropped from the shadows.
"Hi. Is slashing at people with scythe's the new greeting?"
Mex's voice sounded bored as she simply stepped out of the scythe's reach. She caught sight of the scythe and her eyes narrowed in annoyance. The girl held a hand out and flames erupted out of her palm, extending into a wicked scythe itself.
"You guys should run."
A malicious smile curled her lip as she took the scythe into both hands..
"Shit."
Alma muttered.

The two hunters(William and Excelia) were running their horses as fast as they could go. Remingway Villages was just a ways off..both of them could already see the smoke rising from the village itself. There seemed to be no sounds of battle, no screams..nothing. All of that just urged you to run your horses even faster. You would be there in about a minute..
Hopefully in time to reinforce the current battle strength of the hunters in the village.

Kazumi's just about to give himself some room for celebration that Lyn's intervention allowed him time to get out of the house before this death-in-white reached him with that sharp ass katana when another woman with a corrupted aura busts of another house. OK, so there's two human-like Corrupted now, one with fire and scythes, the other with katana's and more unknown shit, both of them apparently familiar with their seniors in Corruption hunting, which can't mean anything good. Especially when BOTH of the corrupted advise getting the hell outta here. All this, plus Alma of all people's declaration of "shit", adds up in Kazumi's mind to mean that they're WAY out of their league here.

"Guys? I don't wanna sound like a coward or anything, but we seem to be in a tad over our heads here." He says to his fellow hunters, sneaking glances at the horses. "Maybe a tactical advance to the rear?"

By the time Marco regains clear thought, the past few minutes have seemed like one big mess of blurry haze to him. He can remember that something caught his attention, and he got extremely angry, but the rest seems obscured and fragmented in his memory. He can see the Corrupted's heart stuck on Graveworm's tip, just before Alma tears the heart off, and shoves the spear-head back into the compartment. Did he do that? Ugh, it's all a blur...

No wait, he remembers now. He got so mad because he saw that thing...ugh...

The mere thought brings back obscure, yet horrid memories...memories from his escape in the burning monastery...(flashback)
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

"No! Stop it, PLEASE!!"
That voice...Sister Shelby?! *clunk* "Sister Shelby! I'm here to...to..."
"It's him! Get him!" (lewd splashing sounds) "Oh c'mon man, I'm almost-"
"NOOOOAAAAAAGH!!"

That'd explain it...the same sort of thing happened to a nun from the monastery, who to Marco, was like the mother he never had. When he saw that woman suffering a similar fate, it must've agitated some post-traumatic stress, causing him to lose control like that...

...but enough about that. Marco has some catching up to do, so he heads outside. However, he took too long to catch the telltale signs of Mex being a high-end threat, so he only knows to stand there watching her cautiously, Blind Guardian ready for action behind his cloak.

Well now, things were starting to get interesting. First a village full of corrupted, now a strange woman, that made the hunters training him and his new companions worry. Well, since it was obvious that these two women knew Sorts' trainers and his trainers were obviously nervous. And oh yeah, the eyes turning red thing just put more icing on the cake. Sort heard Kazumis' remark and replied.
"I second that motion my friend, a tactical retreat sounds like a great idea."
Sort then got up next to Kazumi with his crossbow ready and backup up along with him. He was ready to hop on his horse and bolt, regardless of the pain his testes would feel at the jumping onto the saddle part.
By the time you realize this doesn't say anything. It's too late to stop reading.

Lyn gritted her teeth, her face having flood with bitter emotion as Luna gave her reply. She tensed, snorting hot breaths from under her hood as she redoubled a shaky grip around her blade. From a warrior's reflex, she drew the purple wakizashi from its sheath. The weapon seemed nervous to meet Luna's katana. But in her mind, Lyn insisted It could not have been Luna. She wanted to deny it at that instant -- to back up and chalk this woman off as some malicious illusion, and not the white-haired warrior that had a dark seat in her memories.

A shadowed blue eye flit down to Luna's weapon. Of all the things she knew, it was that glistening blade. In times past, she'd met it in the sparring ring, her own wakizashi and Luna's katana meeting edge to edge as Stryder stood watching. But beyond the weapon, it was Luna's face. Its noble sharpness, which was present even when she was younger seemed tainted -- corrupted by whatever insane methods laid behind her eyes. That wasn't the face she had sparred with, or held tea parties with in the garden or traded clothes with.

It was the face of a Corrupted.

Seeming choked up on emotion but still animate, Lyn, with a cautious hand on her blade, began to backpedal with her other hand reaching out to shoo the two behind her away.

"Run, now... she's too strong." she croaked out with a bitter taste in her voice to them. She kept her gaze tilted up at Luna as she moved. With each step she took, her mind wanted to take two forward. It had been so long since she had seen Luna.

"Just tell me...how? Stryder said you died. How could you have fallen?" she fired off at Luna, quietly, just as her wakizashi slid its way out of its sheath, slowly rising into a defensive posture in front of Lyn. But the girl didn't seem too anxious to fight; even she wouldn't stand against Luna. But she needed to know.

Excelia huffed, never the one to enjoy a beating and rutting animal undearneath her. "Couldn't we get a carriage?" She called out over the sound of heavy thuds the horse hoofs made. She held on to her saddle for dear life as they sped towards the village, uncertain what they were going to find or what she was supposed to do. "or even a sedan chair, seeing as that my last carriage ride got rudely disturbed. And for the love of all that is holy could we please slow down for a minute? I'm falling off my beast! T-this horse creature! Make him slow down, please!"
Breathe easy, the doctors are about to arrive.

Muchitsujo stared at the woman with the scythe made of fire "Sweet gods of the lunar eclipse... If by any chance we do meet again on good terms, any possible way I can learn that from you?" He took his scythe out of the ground and held it in a defensive stance "And yes, if you're a person I fight with, may it be good or bad, that's how I'll greet you outside of public ruling" A frown showed up on his face, seeing that there isn't any imps for him to practice on "Hey... Where are the little guys? I thought I could do some training before getting into the real fight"
His ears caught wind of his comrades saying they needed to retreat, making him forget about fighting, just defending as much as possible "Hmm... Maybe another field, Fire-Scythe Lady, hope we can do a proper fight next time!" He made his way towards his supposed allies all while keeping his eyes on the Fire-Scythe User, not giving her a single opening to abuse, giving her a smile right back

Reaver pulls his axe out of the skull before following Alma out the door, muttering about damn misrepresentation. "Alma I only meant that if we could harness those powers without losing our personalites we would be like.....That." He stares at Mex before starting to backpedal with Alma but at a slower pace. "This could be one of my only chances to gain these powers. Imagine Reaver the Terra Battlemage coming home, invicible and feeling no pain." With this Idea in his mind he stops moving and stands his ground. "YOU! I WISH TO KNOW HOW YOU GAINED THESE POWERS BUT KEPT YOUR OWN HUMANITY." He points his axe at the greater corrupt but keeps his other one ready to block an attack.

The profound sadness forming on Luna's face was obvious as Lyn asked her question. It seemed like Stryder had not told Lyn the truth..instead covering it up with a sweet lie. She didn't blame him. Corruption was a fate worse than death..
"Lyn..please. Take your friends and run. I..cannot disobey..Master's orders much longer.."
Luna's voice seemed strained, as if she was holding back something. The crimson red of her eyes kept flickering bright one second, dull the other..
"PLEASE!"
Luna screamed in a rare display of emotion. Even when they were young, Luna had always been the calmer of the two. Screaming like this was an utter rarity.. She swung her katana in a side arc at Lyn, far out of reach of her, but the blast of wind that the swing generated was not. The gust buffeted Lyn, pushing Lyn out to the doorstep of the house. The door slammed shut in her face, blocking off her view of Luna.
Inside the house, the Corrupted woman dropped to her knees, her katana dropping at her side.
"Master..please..don't. Don't make me do that to Lyn..please."
Luna begged to some invisible entity. The air in front of Luna rippled, green flames burning a small portal from Hell into Strias.
"Disobedience, Luna?"
A deep, layered voice emanated from the portal. Luna stared fearfully into the portal at her master..Aridan. Her master was in his human form, sitting with his legs crossed upon his obsidian throne.
"And you killed all those Lessers as well, I see. Did you think I would not notice? Punishment awaits..and..why not a little..taste? Of what is to come.."
Aridan drawled lazily as he took an arm off the obsidian armrest of his throne, reaching out. His hand phased through the portal and he tapped Luna's forehead with his index finger..
Her screams could be easily heard from all the way outside...

Mex scowled at the idiot holding her scythe happily mouthing off, then glared at Alma, annoyance written all over her face.
"Alma, you better get this idiot out of here before I decapitate him. I won't hold back like Luna...who Lyn there has probably met. Hey, Lyn!"
She took one hand off her flaming scythe and waved at her former comrade as she was pushed out of the house., smiling. Mex seemed oddly happy instead of sad..but then again, she had never cared too much about what she was killing. You could even say that being Corrupted worked for her..
"Well..for old time's sake, I'll give you guys a three minute limit to get out of here. We're pretty busy making more Corrupted already without Luna killing two thirds of them everything we raid a village.."
Mex shrugged, then glanced at the house which Lyn had emerged from. Luna's screams were pretty audible from there..
"Ugh. I keep telling her to stop opposing Master, and does she listen? Don't try getting back in there or I'll kill you. Just get going. Shoo!"
She gestured to them to leave, her face visibly worried for Luna.

Alma took two sharp steps forward, reaching out and yanking Muchitsujo back by the arm roughly as he walked back leisurely.
"You idiot. Don't you know what she is?"
She hissed, angry with the man. She didn't know who he was, but he held Mex's old scythe..the one she had used while she had been a hunter like them. Was he sent by Stryder? She could ponder over this later, though. What mattered was to get to safety first. Mex was letting them go, and they were going to do just that..
But Mex's words..Luna was here, too..? And what about Lyn? Alma spun just in time to see Lyn stumble out of the house, thankfully unhurt. Okay. They really needed to get out of here now.
"Kazumi, Sort, Marco, Eli. Mount your horses and start riding. Back to Saviore Castle. Get going. This isn't a fight that we can win.."
Alma ordered quickly, gesturing to the horses. Where the hell was Reaver...? She ignored his disappearance for now, turning to Muchitsujo.
"Look, I don't know you but you're obviously a hunter. Possibly a stupid one at that for mouthing off to a Corrupted like that. Listen here. Take my horse, he's the black stallion over there. He answers to Styx. Go, now. Oh, I'm Alma, by the way. Nice to meet you."
She patted Mu on the shoulder, smiling briefly before she turned away and ran up to Lyn, urgency showing on her face. They were quickly approaching that three minute limit that Mex had placed and she was sure that Mex would stick to her word.
"Lyn, I'm going to get Reaver..and..Luna's in there, isn't she..?"
The urgency on her face visibly faded away to sadness. Alma hadn't known Luna for as long as Lyn, but Luna had been a good friend while they had been hunters..Stryder too had told them that she had died..
"I..know it's hard, but we have to leave her..we can't do anything for her.
Alma said softly, taking hold of Lyn's hands and giving them a reassuring squeeze before she stepped past her, into the house where Reaver was still in..only to face Reaver as he stepped out of the house. She hadn't heard what he had said earlier as she had left the house in a huff.
"Reaver! Okay, quick. Get on your horse, we have t- Reaver..?"
Alma cut off as Reaver simply ignored her and continued towards Mex..shouting at her. His words..were something that she would never hear from another human being...Reaver..he wanted to give himself up to Corruption.
"Do you realise what the hell are you saying, you fucking idiot?"
The hunter growled angrily, walking up to Reaver's front and grabbing him by the shirt and pulling him face to face with her. Her eyes blazed with that same unnatural crimson, the exact same color of blood, if it had turned fluorescent. She shoved Reaver with surprising strength, snaking a foot around his boot as she did to ensure he fell to the ground.
Alma drew a silver dagger from her belt, stalking towards Reaver. Her intentions were clear, very clear..

"Hey. Three minutes up. And I can't have you killing a potential Corrupted, I guess. He's loud as Hell, though. Viv, Era, just about now would be nice!"
Mex shrugged, yelling out the last bit. A red beam of pure energy blasted down from the skies, annihilating the ground between Alma and Reaver. Alma was thrown back from the force of the blast, tumbling into Lyn and catching onto her for support.
"Ugh. Sorry, Lyn."
Alma gasped as she regained her balance.
"Alma? Lyn? Nice to see you again! It's been a reall- Gwah! Cier, stop that! I mean it!"
A teenage girl and a wolf sat on the rooftop of the house Reaver had emerged from, her long pink hair billowing in the breeze that the red energy beam had kicked up. Her dramatic appearance was somewhat spoiled by the the wolf suddenly tackling her and licking her face over and over.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Vivienne managed to push the wolf off her and it tumbled off the roof into a bush with a surprised "WROOF!". She sat up, her hair tangled and face wet with wolf slobber. Not quite the image she wanted to present..
"Hey, you two. Still hunting?"
A calm voice remarked from behind Alma and Lyn. A woman walked past them, her nose visibly wrinkling at the smell of scorched earth. She stopped beside Reaver and crouched down, looking him from top to toe critically and then shrugging.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

"He looks kind of weak. A bit stupid-looking, too."
Era commented as she took a firm hold of Reaver's arm and stood up, pulling him up with ease. On her back was strapped the various sheaths of the many weapons that Erayne made use of frequently. A red spark of corrupted lightning danced around her fingers as she pulled Reaver back to Mex without trouble, shaking her head at the obviously disappointing choice of Corrupted candidate.
"Era..Viv..everyone.."
Alma bit back tears of her impotent fury. Stryder had a lot of explaining to do..
"Lyn..please..get us out of here.."

"Oh, shaddup, girl! I've been listening to you complain the entire damn morning!"
Uh. Okay. Did your horse just speak to you? The horse known as Grislock to you snorted, but didn't buck you off, thankfully. He had seemed almost annoyed enough to do that, especially at the mentioning of a carriage.
"And I do goddamn not pull carriages, ya hear? Shaddup and sit up."
Grislock put on another burst of speed, rushing down to Remingway Village.
(You'll meet the rest of the hunters next post)

"You..know about Guile, then. This will eventually happen in our fight against Aridan..but not now. Not yet."
Stryder stood up, the wood of the chair scraping heavily against the stone floor as the motion pushed it back. Stryder obviously didn't like talking about this.
"Stryder.."
Alastore crossed his fingers and laid his elbows on the teak table, shaking his head and sighing. He glanced up worriedly at Stryder.
"Nevermind. Please, keep Lyn safe. She cannot be put into a life or death situation..you know about her blood."
He said quietly as Stryder started to walk to the door. He nodded briefly at Alastore's request and stepped out, his metal boots clinking against the stone of the floor. The door slammed shut behind him.
The head magician's previous worried look turned into a sly smile. It wasn't that difficult to put up an act against Stryder, was it..?
"King Leondi. He knows, then. Only he can oppose Master Aridan..and we'll have to kill him before that happens..Master's rule will be absolute..unchallenged!"
Alastore spread his arms, laughing madly in delight at the very thought.
"I..see. Aridan will restore my power upon Stryder's death, right? As was promised..?"
King Leondi's voice spoke from under the table. Alastore smiled at his latest spellcrafting success. The magic sigil had worked perfectly.
"Of course, my King! Master Aridan is completely honorable! He shall leave Strias alone, once Stryder has died. And he will return your power as was promised!"
Alastore hurriedly assured the King, an evil smile curling his lip. All lies, of course..Leondi was power-hungry enough to believe him..and it would ultimately result in a great victory for Master Aridan..

Stryder stood in front of the two wooden doors, identical to those of the Infirmary and the Training Grounds. A wooden sign showed that this place was "Al's Lab." He sighed heavily. Alviss had called him here to check out something which he said was "totally rad!" Whatever that meant. Still, discoveries by Alviss were not to be dismissed lightly. He was one of the greatest minds of science-magic research and technology. He was also the damn laziest person that Stryder had ever seen. The man shook his head, knocking on the wooden door. The last time Stryder had just walked in, he had activated all of Al's defense magic turrets and had been forced to destroy half the lab to stop them.
"One second, bro! Or sis, whatever gender's out there!"
There was the clinking of vials, the sound of a small explosion and then a rattling noise. The rattling noise got louder and louder..and the doors opened. A skeleton stood in the doorway, sporting Alviss' blond mop of messy hair. Stryder blinked and waited for Alviss to explain.
"Uh. I was trying to reanimate a skeleton. I think I mixed up the viper fangs and the bananas. Totally temporary! But it's cool, right? I mean, I would so kick ass at Halloween!"
The skeleton said, waving his arms wildly up in the air. Stryder raised a hand and pressed it against the forehead of his mask, sighing. He would've asked how on Strias could a person mix up bananas and viper fangs, but this was Alviss. Special exception here.
At least it was temporary, as Al had described. Stryder looked on in interest as the skeleton first gained internal organs, then muscles, human skin next and next and oddest of them all, clothing.

"I suppose that'll be useful when you're trying to hide in a graveyard."
Stryder sighed, patting Al on his shoulder before stepping into the lab.

"Alright, I'll be good and go then, and nice to meet you as well" He nodded before running towards the horse in a hasted fashion Wait a minute... Who in the hell is Styx? Eh, I'll ask when I get there His expression would look blank as he continued on to the horse before getting blown faster by the wave pressure of the red beam that hit down "Great sun gods..." He picked up the pace and high-tailed it out of there, starting to panic about if any of his allies were hurt or not Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh SHIT!!! Reaver grunts as Alma picks him up and throws him to the ground. He looks up at her with a look full of hate and elation. "Just try it Alma because if you dont kill me I'll find you again and the next time you'll be on the ground with me standing over you." He tightens he grip on his axe, ready to block her dagger but before he gets the chance a god sent beam from heaven blasts her back and gives him time. As the other greater corrupted introduce themselves as former hunters he feels that he is definitely taking a step in the right direction. However when Era makes her comment about Reaver, his axe wielding hand twitches and almost moves upward to slice her offending head off but he knows first impressions are everything and doesn't. Instead he simply chuckles and follows her to the bigger group. "Nice to meet you too. I'm Reaver and I'm a prince from Romundus. Not like you guys would care or anything." He turns around to give Alma and Lyn one last look and he gives them the middle five with his tongue sticking out before turning his back on them forever. "By the King I hope I made the right choice." He whispers as he looks up at his new companions with a grin on his face.

Marco does his best to ignore Reaver's idiotic lust for corruption, being no stranger to betrayal. Several times in the past, those whom he considered friends turned out to be spies all along...or worse, defected from his side when they realized how many people hounded him. He could've sworn one of them at least hinted to the name of their allegiance, but such information evades his memory.

Of course, with the clearly dangerous four women making their appearances, Marco doesn't really have time to pick at his own brain. Like Alma and Lyn said, they need to get out of here; he knows dangerous enemies when he sees them.

Thus, without so much as a single word on the matter, Marco mounts up on the horse he rode in on, and gives one last glance in the direction of Luna and Lyn, before giving the horse its cue to run back to headquarters. While his mind is focused on the more logic-based questions at hand, such as how to deal with those new "Greater Corrupted," a part of it seems to dwell on a more emotionally-grounded topic: how Lyn will cope with the inevitable fate that Luna faces. If it's demonic power that causes corruption, shouldn't there be a way to remove that power, and reverse the process?... No, Alma herself said it best. Death is what awaits all Corrupted...yes...death...

Marco does his best to repress the thought, though it doesn't seem to go silent easily...and it might resurface later on...

Sort was now thoroughly ready to get out of dodge. He jumped up on his horse and turned that thing around, ready to book, back to the castle. However he did see one the guy with the axes get attacked by Alma, which caused him to pause. Once the beam come down from the sky and the man then turns towards the corrupted people, he realizes what happened. Sort gave a sly smile as he thought of the treachery, and what his father taught him about traitors. Sort raised his bow and smiled as he let loose a bolt, aimed for Reavers back.
"Thought I would return the favor, ASSHOLE!"
Sort would shout out to Reaver, if the bolt hits. Whether it would hit or not, Sort would reload his weapon and get his horse back to the edge of the village, allowing him to use his bow to cover his friends during their retreat.
By the time you realize this doesn't say anything. It's too late to stop reading.

Rooiehaan #2 Wrote:Excelia huffed, never the one to enjoy a beating and rutting animal undearneath her.

Carriages are slow and cumbersome. Hold on tight my friend, village is already in sights. William said, holding the reins of his horse, riding his horse, forcing animal to run fast as he can. Smoke, rising from the village itself made William worried. He hoped that they weren't late. But it seemed the case as there wasn't any sound coming from the village. William's horse passed Excelia's, rushed onwards by William. Faster my friend! We maybe too late if we don't hurry up. William shouted at Excelia.

"Forget about them, they're dead anyway! think more about me, i'm about to... uhhff!" Excelia huffed, before yanking her reigns rather stirnly and making the horse claw its hooves into the ground on halt, causing it to neigh and snort in anger and confusion. "Thank you, stupid pony" Excelia coffed, getting back on her horse properly and continueing on a much slower pace. Obviously, she didn't care if William just galloped right passed her. "And since when are we friends anyway" She huffed, betting William wouldn't hear it over the sound of his own horse's hooves. She patted her 'stupid pony' a little awkwardly, before putting her gloved hand back on the saddle. She looked up, at the smoke rising from the village and make tsk'ing sounds. "poor souls, if only the local militia could've made it there sooner... oh well, nothing we can do now"

"Got it, Alma!" Kazumi shouts, dashing towards his horse as the chaos around him unfolds. Without missing a step, he jumps onto his horse, admittedly more than a little awkwardly, and turns it around. He wants to nip the idiot's corruption in the bud before he becomes a pain in the ass, but escape is more important right now. So he pulls on the reins of his horse and rides out. He trusts that, as experienced hunters, Alma and Lyn both have ways out of the current situation, so he goes full tilt without worry about them.

Lyn's spirit was all but fragmented as she was hurled outside the house, the numb pain of landing seeming like a pittance against the monolith of emotion that had suddenly swelled within her. Of all people, it had to be Lunalesca: a fighter, thinker and... a friend. A friend no longer. Finding herself on her back, the girl let her wakizashi fall like a leaf to the earth and laid there in a depressed slump for the better half of a minute, tugged back to reality only by the grating sounds of conflict across the way. Gritting her teeth, she stood, plucking her blade from the ground and tightening her hand with a bitter force as she turned and walked... slowly.

Her head was fixed downward, but not to avoid the flames and ash that had ruined the village. The destruction seemed so insignificant right now, but she couldn't...

She couldn't look at them. Any of them.

Sniffing back what she knew would be tears, she arrived upon Alma and the others far behind Sort and Kazumi. Alma's comforting squeeze was the first thing she felt, drawing a glum nod of the head from the girl. It didn't heal what she felt, but Alma had always been someone who had cared. In a brief moment of weakness, she coughed, but her frown hardened and her glazed silver-blue eyes tilted up as the scene devolved into very nearly chaos. One of the men, Reaver, wanted to fall to the Corruption. This very idea would have prompted her to slay him, but the opportunity was eliminated by the shattering beam of red which lit up the earth between Alma and Reaver.

She grunted as Alma flew back into her -- Lyn herself having nearly been knocked off balance -- but gave no annoyed gesture. Already, she had fixed on the pink-haired girl and her wolf atop a nearby house. Vivienne: a girl she had not known deeply, but had met once or twice. By the second, more Greater Corrupted seemed to funnel in. Erayne, in particular, had her on edge. The lightning-wielding swordswoman had filled Lyn's idea of what a true Demon Hunter was when she was younger. But she'd known the older woman was Corrupted. Nevertheless, it checked off more and more reasons to leave, even though the suicidal want to open fire with all of her mounting hate was brimming inside her.

I can't believe this, she growled in her head, fighting back tears again with a clenched jaw, The village was lost, Luna is gone, we can't win this fight and another Greater Corrupted will be on our doorstep. The more she summed up the situation, the worse it felt.

Uncharacteristically, she wanted to scream. But she didn't.

Offensively, she raised her sword, the tip of the blade flicking slowly between Erayne, Reaver, Vivienne and Mex.

"Each and every one of you... traitors." her words dropped out like hammer blows. Hate smoldered in the girl's young eyes.

Sniffing, she slammed her blade back into her sheath with a dramatic clang and turned heel, her cloak flying under a sudden breath of wind before--

The white starburst consumed Alma and Lyn before anyone could blink, the flash intense as to blind anyone who looked on.

...

And just like that, Lyn felt the thin carpet of Saviore Castle's basement beneath her. Weakness overcame her like a tide of water, and she fell to her knees, eyes swimming in tears. She placed her hands to her eyes, nearly about to collapse unconscious.
