Madison couldn't be more pleasured with the results. "Nice job! You two are amazing!" He said taking a knee as he saw Eevee rushing forward into a flying leap for her master whom caught her with one arm. She celebrated her victory with a happy sound and a nuzzle of her head into his shoulder whilst Shoormish hopped on over and nudged the leg. He pets the little one upon the top of her head. With the battle over the adrenaline rush of success was felt by all now. Shoormish hopped about happily as Eevee was set down so he could check them over. Shoormish didn't even have a scratch on her. Probably because they focused on Eevee all that time so he had to check her over. "You alright Eevee?" Eevee despite having another ruffle to her pelt didn't seem to notice. She looked much better about it and gave a confident sound to show that she was good to go for another round anytime. "Well hopefully we can give you a break for now. I'll be sure to bring you two out to play later on." Returning them to their respective Pokéballs he would give a cleansing sigh feeling most satisfied.

He then checks on the one that held Poochyena. As he recalled Poochyena had been paralyzed and also bumped down slightly. He was lucky to have caught him when he was still fresh like that. But he debated on if Poochyena was merely a glass cannon in reality. Somehow he doubted it. Considering how hard Shroomish had struck with a single empowered attack and how violently it struggled even under all that to get free that Poochyena was considerably strong. Either way he had to heal him so he opened up the Pokéball and out came the freshly captured Pokémon. "Hold still boy and I'll patch you up." First thing he did was take out a Paralyze Heal and spray him down so that he could shake off the stun spores. He used that time to inspect Poochyena over to assess just how much damage he took during the battle. Next came the Potion or Super Potion which he sprayed over his injuries to hopefully put him back to full strength. "I'll need to talk with you Poochyena later. But understand that I need your help. I can release you if you don't wish to come with me but hear me out. Until then, rest for now." He said returning him to the Pokéball.

Later on he'd have to have a heart to heart to convince Poochyena on this quest of his privately. However he would have to be considerate of Nina since she for the moment didn't share in it and he didn't blame her for it. He wouldn't remind her of that horrible event. Hence he waited and explained as best as he could. Speaking of which, he stood up and approached her as she celebrated her own victory. "You are a natural at this Nina. Heck you even taught me a few new tricks and reminded me of one fundamental." Madison had to admit that he completely learned the very concept of combining moves from her seeing how she used Water Gun with Spark in order to set up a stronger attack. Which thus prompted him to remember that Pokémon can work in unison to achieve greater strengths. "How did you manage to teach Spark to Chinny in the middle of battle anyway?" He asked since he wanted to make simple conversation now about her abilities and just how fast she was growing in terms of being a Trainer.

Being a little unsure what all is going on Jackson raises an eyebrow At the lack of Pokemon in the area and finds himself wondering where they all went." What do you think guys? Are they all hiding because of the fighting that was going on in town? " having been in town with him Jackson's Pokemon simply look around and kinda shrug their shoulders. "ok let's take a look around and maybe we can find something else in this area. I wouldn't mind a new Pokemon. walking into the grass Jackson heads towards the next town but intentionally takes every chance to walk in the grass hoping to find a slightly more rare Pokemon hiding in the grass then a lotad or a second poochyena.

Steve could feel the ideas in his head brewing before Chrys popped into his mind. She had a plan and he knew how to make it work,"Got it Chrys... I'm about to clear the field. Tell Miyu that she needs to scatter sand in the air and use rapid spin after Dusky uses Amber..." He sent back in his head to her. Then he looked out at the field,"Alright Dusky... party is OVER. Time to spread the party favors. You and miyu... pass em out." He said grinned as she nodded and sticking close to Miyu they ran forward to the center of the field and Dusky fired as big a shower of embers as she could upwards waiting for Miyu to finish the attack! It would hopefully help Trapinch stay out of sight and able to dodge and keep going. He was doing awesome!

Raphael listens and nods as Kal tells her story. "Sounds a lot like what happened to me - except I ran into Team Aqua first." He stays quiet as Remmi speaks to the Wingull girl, deciding that it's best to just give her time to get used to him.

When an Absol appears he stops, seemingly distracted by listening to something on his headset, then shakes his head. "I hope you're not trying to warn us - I'd hate to see what still qualifies as a disaster after today." He can see why Remmi is cursing - it'd be hard to find a worse match-up for Seraphim. It looks like the Dark-type could be a decent match for Tyr even with the type disadvantage. Which, given the battles they've already been though and the distance they still need to cover to get to the next town, means his first instinct is to avoid the battle. Unfortunately, it was the Wingull girl who bumped into it. Pokemon will often hesitate to harm humans, but he isn't sure whether that will carry over to hybrids... and he's guessing the last thing she needs right now is to be attacked. With that thought he steps forward, placing himself between the wild Pokemon and her, and summons Tyr in a flash of red light.

"Once more unto the breach, my friend." He reaches into his pack for one of his Potions, keeping a careful watch on the Absol. If it looks like it will give him the time, he'll take the opportunity to patch up Tyr before sending him up against it. Either way, he'll open with Focus Energy. He'd like to finish this fight as quickly as possible.
Cogito, ergo... something.

Route 102:

Jackson
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

(You got insanely fuckin’ lucky, you know that? Like, I only included this Pokémon because it would be in about the right place in another region. The odds of the Random Number Gen actually picking it is like 1%!)

Passing over the Pokémon you already saw, you dive further into the grass. While your persistence is rewarded, you realize you don’t recognize the Pokémon you’re currently staring at. A quick look at your PokéDex reveals that this Pokémon, a Purrloin, isn’t even native to Hoenn! How in the hell did THIS get here!? Did someone release it? Did it stowaway on a cargo ship? What!? Well, the fact of the matter is it’s here now.

In Petalburg:

Vivian
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Well, the day has finally come! Knowing that you would be leaving soon, Nurse Joy throws you a going away party for you and Azurill, seemingly restraining tears since she’s been working beside you for nearly 3 years now and is going to miss you something terribly. The abandoned Pokémon will probably also miss you, especially the male ones. You’re actually rather surprised Nurse Joy never caught you jacking off the males in heat, but hey, that’s good for you, right? The party went well, though there might have been a tad too much alcohol there for you to handle. You don’t wake up until late the next day with a very slight hangover. You down some water to help with that and say your goodbyes to Nurse Joy before setting off.

“Be careful! There was an awful racket earlier today, so keep an eye out for any problems!” She warns you as you walk out the door. Well, here’s the start of your journey! What’s your first move?

In Petalburg Woods:

Madison
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

When you spray the Paralyze Heal onto the Poochyena, you see that it almost gives out. He must’ve been really close to fainting and deliberately used the fact that his muscles were locked up due to the Stun Spore to appear steadier than he actually was. With that in mind, you use the Super Potion, bouncing the dog back to full health. When you explain that you’ll need his help, he gives a small bark of acknowledgement before you pull him back into his PokéBall.

When you turn to Nina and complement her, her cheeks turn bright pink and she scratches the back of her head in embarrassment as she doesn’t know what else to do. “One of the good things about being a PokéMart clerk is you get a lot of egotistical Trainers.” She says, her embarrassment preventing her from making eye contact with you. “They brag on and on about the adventures they have and the things they do and I just tried to go off that and what I’ve see you do. And Spark was what Chinny used? I didn’t know that’s what it was called, or even if it was a move really. I just tried to describe something that might be useful to Chinny and hoped she could put it together from there.” It sounds like she didn’t really know what she was doing, but she still brings up an interesting point: If you describe it to your Pokémon well enough, then it can possibly learn a new move under your direction! It’d have to be something they’re at least somewhat familiar with, like how Chinny learned Spark based on knowing Thunder Wave, or something that seems pretty obvious but the basic concept is sound.

Tsubaki
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

No Post!

In Rustboro:

Steve
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Chrys gives a slight noise of uncertainty at your choice, but seems to relay the command to Miyu and Dusky regardless.

It seems Alexis is starting to relay commands to her Pokémon via Chrys now since, without prompting from her, Scizor reappears in front of Smoochum and unleashes a Fury Cutter. Now they’re getting a taste of what Chrys did as the Super Effective move lands. And it’ll only get worse from there.

With no one moving to stop her, Rose starts to make good on her threat. “Roserade, crush that Trapinch.” Once again, the rose Pokémon spins, launching a storm of rose petals that surrounds Trapinch. By the time the storm subsides, Trapinch is down, unable to rise again. You have a feeling of mental anguish passes through your mind, causing you mild heartache before you separate it out from your emotions and realize its coming from Chrys. It seems she knew it was inevitable and was prepared for it, but learned there’s no way to prepare for watching one of your daughters fall in battle. Quickly, Alexis grabs Trapinch and moves her on the other side of the Powder Snow barrier, keeping her out of range for Roserade to finish the job since Underground League battles usually go to the death. Still, almost as if in retaliation, the Sand Tomb brews, eating up another chunk of Roserade’s health.

Seeing that it’s just short of useless in the current situation, Eiji grudgingly commands his Pokémon, “Just use Minimize.” Then the Drifloon seems to shrink into a mere fraction of its former size. It’s gonna be much harder to hit it in this state. It seems everyone’s making use of Chrys’ services now since Houndour launches itself at the newly-minimized Drifloon and manages to take a solid Bite out of it regardless of the change. Eiji curses under his breath and glares at Chrys, obviously blaming her for the newfound cohesion your group is experiencing. As if Chrys wasn’t under enough enemy scrutiny as is!

“Smoochum, baby, that Baltoy’s really making a mess of things. Focus on cooling her off, if you please.” Z says. Without hesitation, Smoochum blows a gust of Powder Snow at Chrys and, because they’re surrounding her, Flan and Seal. While the two Ice Pokémon are unaffected too much by this, Chrys begins shivering again, whether from cold or because she’s becoming weak you don’t know. Either way, with Pokémon on the field capable of attacking around her guards, it once again becomes important to protect Chrys if you and the team want to be able to continue your silent communication! As if having the same thought, Growlithe breaks into a sprint, mouth full of fire before it bites down on Chrys’s attacker, the sound of sizzling coming from the Smoochum before Growlithe backs off.

Continuing the bite chain, Flan launches herself at Sandslash, her mouth crystallized with the ice in her mouth, before she bites down on her enemy’s head with the Ice Fang. While it may have once again failed to freeze the Pokémon, it finally succeeded in causing it to fall back and clutch its head, forgetting what it was supposed to be doing. Flan’s finally broken the Fury Cutter chain! It’s attack power will be back down to normal next round, though you’re not sure if she’d be able to survive even that.

Starting your orders off, Dusky launches enough Ember into the air to slightly darken the skies. Unfortunately, with such a wide spread, though all of it lands it doesn’t do much more than annoy Sandslash, doing almost nothing to Numel, Roserade brushing the effects off, Smoochum flinching a little due to it being Super Effective but not doing much more than that, and outright missing the smaller Drifloon. Continuing your direction, Miyu, still reeling from her sister going down, launches clouds of sand into the air using Sand-Attack over and over again, then uses Rapid Spin afterwards to shoot the sand everywhere… unfortunately with the lack of control she has over this, everywhere naturally means at your team too. Chrys had the foresight to tell everyone to duck and cover their eyes before this happen, but more than a few people, Alexis included, shoot you a look that makes you think they don’t think much of the attack. Your enemies don’t think much of it either, but that’s an entirely different matter. With the wide spread and the lack of control over it, not much of it made it to your opponents’ eyes, the unlucky victim being Smoochum. You’re unsure if that was a bad case of quantity over quality or if Miyu’s emotional state had something to do with it. The way Miyu is constantly eying Chrys with worry in her eyes suggests that she’s beginning to grow more and more worried that her mother-figure won’t last much longer and its likely to affect her performance as she pays more attention to the Baltoy than the battle.

Speaking of Chrys, since no one seemed interested in tagging the obvious kill, she uses Psychic on the almost unconscious Numel, helping it make the final leg of its journey into the land of dreams.

“Baltoy, that Vulpix is becoming annoying. Take it out!” You hear one of the Magma Grunts say. Immediately, the enemy Baltoy launches a Mud-Slap at Dusky, your Pokémon falling backwards under the Super Effective attack. She shakily makes her way back to her feet, but you can tell she’s starting to be overwhelmed by the damage caused by the attacks she’s taken so far.

Shaking off its fatigue for a second, Machop dashes at the Sandslash, bringing the side of his hand down on the side of his enemy’s neck in a Karate Chop attack. The sound the connecting attack rings out makes it clear that it was a critical hit! The Sandslash wobbles, obviously still standing only though sheer willpower by the way its eyes close and take long periods of time to reopen and it has to fight to keep its footing. Seeing this weakness, Seal launches another Aurora Beam at it, the rainbow colored attack being more than enough to topple the severely weakened Pokémon.

Nosepass once again blasts rock from its nose, five rocks flying at Drifloon. With the Pokémon’s smaller size, though, only one of them connect. The Drifloon definitely feels it though since it’s Super Effective!

At the end of this exchange, Chrys is really shaky, her condition being uncertain at this point. While her former greatest threat, Sandslash, is down, the new threat of Roserade will make it likely that she won’t survive the next round. Without her, Miyu will almost definitely stop listening to orders since both her mother and her sister will have been defeated and group cohesion will drop as you all actually have to speak to your Pokémon rather than mentally connect with them. It’d probably be for the best of that doesn’t happen. Dusky is hanging in there, but you’re pretty sure she can’t take much more Super Effective punishment. Or an attack from Roserade, but that’s more everyone at large than a Dusky-exclusive problem. No one else was attacked this round, so everyone else is the same as last time, meaning both Machop and Flan are in pretty bad condition, probably a bit worse than Chrys, while everyone else is relatively alright. You can hear the Officers trapped behind the Powder Snow continuing to dig through to get back into support detail, but you’re not sure how long it’ll take them to finish. Smoochum will probably need to be taken care of before that or else she’ll just dump another layer on them.

On the opposing side, Smoochum is looking rather ruffled after taking those Super Effective attacks and is running blind after eating a Sand-Attack. By no means does she look almost done, but she’s well on her way there. Roserade, as expected, doesn’t look too badly hurt, save for what the Sand Tomb has done to her after 2 turns. Drifloon doesn’t look too good after being hit despite its smaller size. It’s probably the worst off out of all enemy Pokémon. Baltoy wasn’t hurt too much this round besides what little it took from Dusky’s attack, so it’s still doing fairly well.

In Verdanturf:

Milla
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Your day has arrived! After your announcement to become a Trainer, your parents gave you their full support, though they seemed a bit worried. They gave you enough PokéYen to give a (more than) descent start and handed you a backpack and told you to pick out some supplies to get you going. After hand-picking from the items they have at the main ranch, they sit you down for a going away breakfast feast and then send you on your way. Immediately you run into what could be a problem, everyone knows your face! As you leave your house and get a last look at your Home Town, you have a crowd of people asking for autographs from the face of the Lebed Iron Breeder Corp. Whether you fulfill their wishes or not, soon enough its long past time for you to go. So what’s your first move?

On Route 110:

Lisa
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Koben
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

(In case you didn’t see it in OOC, it’s a bit of a mix of both. You can catch a Pokémon that has fainted, but they’ll be a lot less happy with you than a Pokémon caught game style. As a result, it’ll be a lot less obedient)

Before Honedge can go through with your command, Electrike releases an ear-piercing Howl. You can’t be 100% sure, but you get the feeling that it’s more into the fight now and its attacks will hurt a lot more from now on. Recovering from the sound, Honedge goes into a Sword Dance, the frenzied movement pumping it up and making its attacks more fierce. In relative terms, the Pokémon are matched, Honedge having higher attack, but lowered defense while Electrike has slightly higher attack. You get the feeling that the preparation phase is over and that Electrike will be going all out from next round on.

In Slateport City:

Naomi
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Katie seems to suppress a smirk at your words, but you’re not sure if you really saw it or not since her face is smooth in the next instant. “Well, for now I just need you to follow me! The thing I need help with is not too far.” She says, taking you by the hand and dragging you behind her. She leads you into the old, mostly unused shipyard and up into the top floor. From there, she closes the door behind her. Then she turns to you, as if to see how you’ll react. You don’t see much in this room besides a few layers of dust and some powered down computers. Well, that’s not true. There’s also a book case to the right of the entrance that seems to emit a pale red light.

On Route 121:

Raphael
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

At your obvious show of hostility, Absol removes its last traces of hesitation and prepares itself for battle, which in turn causes Kal to sigh and release a Vulpix to help you out in the coming battle. Her Pokémon doesn’t look overtly powerful like Tyr or Seraphim does after all they’ve went through, but it’s better than nothing. Before everything gets started, you spray Tyr down with a Potion to help it recover from its battle and send him on his way. Seeing how shaky Seraphim is from going two battles without healing, Kal tosses Remmi a Potion to spray on the Ralts before the Absol finally makes its move. As it does, you and your allies’ Pokémon all feel an ominous Pressure on them! It’ll likely take more out of your Pokémon to attack then they’re used to! When the Absol buckles a bit, you see a smile come across Remmi’s face. Seraphim’s Ability must be Trace, throwing Absol’s Pressure right back at it. Shaking off the effect, Absol presses on.

Surprisingly, it shoots a mouthful of Ember at Tyr! Despite it not being type effective, it still hits rather hard! From your PokéGear’s headset, you hear confirmation that the Absol just used Me First, a move that randomly picks a move from its enemies and uses it with increased power! Thankfully, Tyr doesn’t seem to be burnt, though the attack seems to have taken a bit out of him.
A bit annoyed her own at her own attack being used, Kal orders her Vulpix, Hope she’s apparently named, to use its own Ember on Absol. The Disaster Pokémon winches a bit, but otherwise doesn’t seem too terribly affected by the move. Remmi must have communicated with Seraphim mentally, because the next thing you know the Ralts’ eyes are dyed a deep blue, a color that the Absol soon reflects as well. You’re not sure until your headset tells you so, but it seems Seraphim has used Disable! You’re not sure which move has been Disabled, but any move it doesn’t have access to is a good thing! Bringing up the rear, Tyr concentrates, using Focus Energy to make it likely that he hits more vital areas.

On the S.S. Tidal:

Skye
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The Houndour girl looks around nervously as you suggest the two of you move, as if expecting the woman that was yelling at her to pop back in at any moment. When that doesn’t happen, she looks at you with obvious mistrust for your motives. Still, she gives a shrug that seems to say ‘Anywhere’s better than here’ and waves her hand for you to lead the way. The two of you walk to your room right next door with no problem and she immediately closes the door behind her and seats herself in front of it, sitting cross-legged in a way that makes it obvious once again that she’s not used to the human form. You say that because the way she sits puts her vagina in full view and the way her hands are gripping her legs dies nothing to hide her breasts, showing you that she knows nothing of human modesty besides what she was obviously told by the woman earlier. With the woman gone, she obviously reverted back to whatever was comfortable.

“So you wanted to talk? Well, talk.”

Steve was going the pressure. Both of his Pokémon were hurting and Chrys was the only thing holding them all together. He needed a new plan. His last one was a terrible and he apologized to chrys directly with his head,"I.. I thought it would work. I'm sorry." He seemed more mad at himself than anyone else,"Great job you two! Get back over here!" He called with a clenched fist. This Pokémon needed to go Smoochum was now less of a problem at least... Though he knew that Roserade was an issue. Dusky and Miyu could take her out though... maybe a combo of Rollout and Ember... and he had to keep Dusky from that magical leaf attack... ember was her best defense. He shot to Chrys,"Tell Dusky that if Roserade uses that leaf attack to counter with an enter before it gets close to her and Miyu... and tell them they need to use Ember and Rollout on them at the same time. She is a problem. Trapinch did so great... we'll make sure she knows it when she wakes up. Okay?" He added trying to make her feel better as he left her to relay his directions. Then he fished out a potion from his bag and sprinted towards her to give her some healing. She was important. Without her the line breaks. Dusky seems to approve. She knew what Steve needed to do and got ready to do what she was told. She was keeping a wary eye on Roserade and Baltoy. She was going to have move quick if they attacked! Steve then realized that moving on roserade without some serious backup was definitely a bad choice. He had to be more competent if he was going to have Miyu trust him enough to follow his orders.... shit,"Chrys! I can't have them do that attack... focus on Smoochum instead... and tell them to stay mobile! Dusky knows that but i don't know about Miyu..." He shot through his mind again finding it abit easier as he got closer to her.

Well that settled the matter of his Poochyena needing a bit of training up if he was going to be up to par in terms of toughness. However this might just have been because of a super powered attack used by his two Pokémon to great effect. Either way he looked at it he felt the little guy would prove himself to be more then suitable for his team in time. Either way all three of his Pokémon were resting up after a tough battle. It was a good effort all around by them even if he did blunder a bit in that conflict. At least Poochyena seemed on board to go with him. He wondered if that would be the case later on at the Gym when they eventually arrive.

Back to the here and now however he listened to what Nina was saying about she figured out a few things including how she managed to teach Chinny the move Spark. Chinny was a good fit for the former Pokéclerk turned Trainer as she learns quickly. Regardless Madison would give a soft shrug of his shoulders in order to try and make her feel more at ease about it. "Well it paid off handsomely for the both of you. No more then a day into your time as a Trainer and you already have three Pokémon. Considering what we ran into, that's not a bad day." Looking up he couldn't tell how much of the day they had left. So it was best to assume they were running out. "Alright now which way to head on to our destination." Madison would try and note the path leading onwards and perhaps press forward with their journey. After all they could still talk and walk at the same time.

Madison was mentally reviewing all he had watched from those in the Colosseums and from his own experiences. The best trainers within the Colosseums of Orre often were the ones whom spent the most time honing their Pokémon's skills. Since there were not many wild Pokémon to be found there they had to come up with a few more inventive ways to train up. Growing up he had plenty of time to learn the basic concept of it. If you wanted to train a certain aspect of a Pokémon then you had to exercise them proper. He had to consider redoubling those efforts as well now. Madison however learned that the best bond Pokémon have with their trainer is a loving one. You have to give them the right attention if you want them to really give it their all. After all he raised Eevee as a child from her egg to this point in time. So much to learn and make use of and so little time.

"Well if we're going to be taking on the Gym Leaders then we should prep for it as best as we can." Back onto the subject of learning move and improving upon their own techniques Madison would continue the conversation. Most trainers don't bother with a few critical steps in making their Pokémon and bond with the trainer stronger. "Maybe we can try and get a few exercises going once we settle down for camp. I wanna try out what you did as well." Madison said as he would need to tell Nina about putting more effort into training their Pokémon. It wasn't all done through battling and for most they might not even bother with it. But through this method that they could really just show a huge difference between a wild/untrained Pokémon and a well-trained Pokémon.

Well, Katie seems to be a really nice lady. Not only is she giving you some of the supplies you need, but she's also being kind enough to show her a part of town that's near the water. As Naomi follows Katie, she begins to hum one of the songs her parents taught her, the "don't follow complete strangers into dirty buildings" song, as she always enjoyed it's melody. She's not exactly sure if Katie picks up on it, but it does seem to give her a suppressed smile. Eventually, they ended up in a somewhat abandoned building (kind of like the one she was almost kidnapped in last time), and Naomi takes it all in.

"So," Naomi asked, as she looked at the book case, "What is it that you want me to do?"

Azurill seems indifferent to the type of Pokémon you catch, with the obvious exception of grass Pokémon since he’d have to fight them, likely just to be content with anything you catch so long as they’re good company.

On your way to Petalburg Woods, you come across a plethora of other Pokémon on Route 104 though they look a little agitated by something. Maybe that commotion that Nurse Joy mentioned earlier? Either way, most promenient among the Pokémon you see are a few Wingull, a Wurmple or two, and a Taillow. You can move on to Petalburg Woods while ignoring this Pokémon, though in their twitchy state getting too near one of them could set them off, or maybe look to catch one of them or maybe look for some out of plain sight.

In Rustboro:

Madison
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

“I guess today wasn’t too bad considering how it started.” Nina grudgingly says, as if thinking about how her day began leaves a bad taste in her mouth. As the two of you walk, you begin to see the end of the forest. Just how far did Nina go when she stormed off from you? Either way, Nina herself gives a small sigh as the exit becomes clear. “Thank goodness! Maybe now we can find a PokéCenter for our Pokémon.” she says, rushing ahead and leaving her previous thoughts aside. She doesn’t get very far before you hear her give a slight yelp and rush out to check what the problem is. The problem becomes glaringly obvious as the town comes in full view: There’s a rather large Pokémon battle going on on the far side of town. On one side, there are a few Team Magma grunts and some Trainer that seem to have aligned themselves with them and on the other there’s a couple of Officers, a girl in school girl garb, and two other Trainers that have sided with them. At first glance, it seems that the Officer side is winning, but another look tells you that they’re on the ropes! The Roserade they’re fighting looks stronger than most of them combined and looks mostly unharmed while most of their Pokémon look like they’re hanging on by a string, if that.

But before that, you’ve got another set of problems to deal with. Specifically, the Magma grunts that have already been defeated are creating a ring around the fight to prevent anyone else from jumping in and they’ve already spotted Nina! Under the fear of what happened earlier she’s starting to shut down, her legs shaking like they’re just barely holding her up and her face the picture of terror.

In Slateport:

Naomi
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

As you answer, you see a small light dim in Katie’s eyes. It seems she’s slightly disappointed in something. Shaking that off, she turns to the bookcase and pulls a book off of it. “Oh, nothing much, but my friends here.” She says as the bookcase slides from the wall, revealing at least 3 new people, 2 men and 1 woman. “They’re gonna want you to surrender quietly and give up all your stuff and your Pokémon.”

"Oh whatever Azu, don't give me that look, you could at least look kinda excited that you might get a new friend." She pouts looking onward to the forest. One Route 104 she notices the Pokemon seem a little off and can't help but recall what nurse joy said about there's been some trouble in the area. Looking around she sees a taillow and gives a small jump for joy, she's always been a fan of bird Pokemon admiring their ability to fly and the fact they live freely. She sneaks up to it and notices that it's just as twitchy as some of the other Pokemon one the route, thinking she has the advantage she throws a great ball at it hoping to get it without hurting it.

He didn't try and bring that up again but it was still fresh in her mind so he knew it couldn't be helped. He honestly didn't think they'd be able to get out of the forest within a single day but they did have a fairly good path to follow. He was surprised there weren't any trainers beyond them to fight but now as Rustboro was in sight he was running in suit to keep up with the energetic Nina. That's where their good fortune went bad apparently as she gave a soft yelp. He could see why as there was a lot of Pokémon and Trainers battling. Looked like potentially to be a bout against a bunch of Team Magma and possibly someone working with them against the officers and a few trainers being decent members of the official Hoenn League.

And there Nina was frozen with fear as a few of the Team Magma members were acting to prevent interference of any kind and they just so happened to spot Nina. Madison knew he had to back her up on this one and it also brought a question to his mind. Why weren't they joining in? Was it because they were out of Pokémon or something else entirely? Either way they were an obstacle in their path. His eyes glanced about for anything of use in this situation he could improvise for his use like last time but he was doubting that. "Don't worry. I have your back on this… and they don't have any Pokémon left. Bring out your own and show them your strength." Walking up beside Nina he had a Pokéball at the ready.

In contrast to Nina there was no fear within him but cold anger and to reflect this outlook, out came Shoormish, fresh and ready for battle. Two more Pokéballs were in his hands showing that the grunts had more Pokémon to back him up. Standing just in front of Nina to help snap her out of it acting as her shield. "Give those Pokémon thieves a taste of Stun Spore in three seconds!" Pointing straight at the grunts as he gave this order. Shroomish, having been told about what kind of creeps Madison was going to be dealing with didn't have much issue in complying. It doubled as a command and as a warning to the grunts that he was not going to hold back just because they had no Pokémon out. In short the grunts better run like mad or else they were going to get attacked by three angered Pokémon. Six if Nina follows up on this.

On Route 104:

Vivian
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The Taillow, completely unaware of your presence until it’s too late, goes into the Great Ball with no problem. From there, though, things start to get out of control. The ball violently thrashes side to side once, twice, three times! Then the ball cracks open, releasing the Pokémon within who looks more than a little angered by your attempt. Well, the Great Ball’s still in one piece, so you can go retrieve that at will, but now you still need to deal with an annoyed Taillow.

In Rustboro:

Madison
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

At your back-up, Nina seems to regain herself a little and locks her knees to prevent them from shaking and faces her oppressors. You see the overwhelming terror in her eyes start to slowly morph into an anger that almost makes her face ugly before you summon up Shroomish and make your threat. Even though mentally your Shroomish has no problem attacking Team Magma, it briefly has to fight its own instincts that prevent it from seriously hurting a human. By the time it’s done that, most of the grunts have run off, obviously not prepared to see if you’re bluffing or not. The one or two that stays goes running off when Nina’s fury transforms into movement and she reaches for her PokéBall. With the obstacles in your path gone, you can now move into the fight proper!

Koben narrowed his eyes when he heard the Howl of the Elektrike and tried to think of what to do "Hit him with a Tackle friend, hasten up this battle's end!" he called as he reached into his bag and withdrew one of the Pokeballs he had purchased before in Slateport, palming the ball before replacing his bag onto his back. He had no idea how the battle would play out, but hopefully it would go in their favour, if not for their sakes then for the sake of the Nurse back in Slateport

On Route 110:

Koben
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

With the command given, the battle begins in earnest, both sides jumping forward to make their moves. The fight quickly becomes a knock-down, drag-out brawl that will clearly end up going to whoever can endure the longest since both sides can only Tackle each other, attacks going back and forth as the two of them fight for the upper hand. When the two of them finally separate after what must have been 5 or 6 attacks each, Honedge is in a rather banged up state, wavering in the air as he tries to ready himself for the next round. Electrike is a bit worse off, shaking on its feet as it tries to focus on its opponent.

Madison smiled a touch relieved he and Shroomish didn't have to go through with the attack. Not to say that he wouldn't have done so but he would have preferred not to have Shroomish do that. Thankfully with them running off like crazy to avoid being paralyzed momentarily he was pleasantly surprised to see Nina prove why "hell has no fury like a woman" is very much true. Kneeling down he pets Shroomish on her head muttering to her "Thanks girl. I didn't like the idea of doing that either." He looked up to Nina with a smile seeing how she lost her fear. "Nina hold on a second."

Seeing the situation and now that their path was cleared he would go into a small huddle with Nina. He had an idea on exactly how to deal with such a strong set of opponents. Nina had two Pokémon with type advantage and if she went three on one with Roserade, she'll probably turn the tide. "I got an idea. Those Pokémon are pretty strong so we'll have to play with type advantage. I'll have my Eevee and Poochyena double or triple team the Smoochum. Your Pidgey and Caterpie are strong against grass types so you'll have to play smart and use your Pidgey to deal the damage. Have your Caterpie and Chinchou hinder it as much as possible to try and paralyze it or slow her down. This way it cannot avoid any fire attacks from the other Pokémon." Madison smiled at her showing confidence that she could do this and that they'd win out if this worked. Heck if this played out Nina was going to be the heroine of this battle.

Ready whenever Nina was Madison deployed his other two Pokémon and join the fray with her. It was time to put the plan into action. Just to be safe and make sure Nina stays safe during this he made sure to have her slightly within his line of sight and close by so that if any other grunts get any ideas he could intercept it. He took no chances with them possibly fighting dirty. Pointing to Smoochum he barked out his orders. "Poochyena! Use bite on that Smoochum! Eevee, take a page out of Poochyena and bite that Smoochum as hard as you can!" He then focused his attention on Shroomish "Alright Shoormish make a tackle attempt at Roseraid's skull and lead with your head!" He was going to try and put Nina's advice to good use and see if Shoormish could bust out a headbutt like that Zigzagoon was so fond of using.

Narrowing his eyes as he saw the conditions of both of the pokemon in battle and decided that now might be the best time to attempt a capture and thus, rearing his arm back, Koben aimed and threw the pokeball at the injured Electrike in the hopes of capturing it. Besides, hopefully he might be able to heal Honedge and the Electrike up once he had captured them with the potions he had in his bag. Yes, they would have to be replaced, but that was poxy compared to his need for the Electrike in the plan

"Uh oh... Azu water gun the taillow while I grab the greatball."
While Azu is distracting the taillow as best he can Viv scrambles around the ground looking for the greatball hopefully in one piece so she could use it again on the Pokemon before he flies away or hurts Azurill to much.

On Route 104:

Vivian
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Being much faster than Azurill, Taillow moves first, launching into your Pokémon for a vicious Peck attack. At the very least, this leaves you open to go for the Great Ball and scoop it up, all in one piece and ready for re-using! Following your orders, Azu uses Water Gun to get the Taillow to back off and give him some breathing room. Now they face off with each other, weary of each other's next move.

In Rustboro:

Madison
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

(While I'm thinking of it, don't forget to update your backpack with the items you've used and the Pokémon you've caught!)
Looking in her eyes, you see Nina's fear is far from gone. Most likely she was using anger at her situation to cover over her terror, but it's still there and if her rage sputters out for any reason you're likely to see it return as her main emotion. Since she knows this about herself too, she fights to hold on to the more constructive emotion and gives you a terse nod before unleashing Chinchou, Caterpie, and Pidgey. Only, they haven't been properly healed up yet, so they're in varying conditions, the worst off obviously being Pidgey. Pausing for a second to spray Pidgey down with Parlyz Heal and a Potion, she charges into battle alongside you, catching pretty much everyone off guard.

"What he said!" Nina commands her Pokémon, careful to keep your name under wraps. With all the Pokémon knowing what they're supposed to be doing, they move!
With its superior speed, Chinchou bursts forward, releasing a Thunder Wave at Roserade, Paralyzing the overly powerful Pokémon. "What the...!?" You hear her trainer exclaim, surprised by the sudden reinforcement in the opposition. "Oh, c'mon! So many bugs to crush appearing out of nowhere! You Team Magma wenches are useless!" She yells in frustration. The way she glares at Chinchou makes it clear that she's made the Pokémon Roserade's next target. Playing smart, Pidgey stays back and launches a Gust attack at the Paralyzed Pokémon. It connects, but this Roserade must be something else! It looks like it barely feels the Super Effective attack, something that makes Nina release a small sound of disbelief.

On another theatre of the battlefield, Eevee and Poochyena charge the Smoochum, keeping pace with each other as they close in. Once in range, Eevee jumps up while Poochyena keeps going, Eevee using Bite on the enemy's head while Poochyena goes for the body. Once the blows land, they bounce off and retreat, obviously wanting no part in a counter-attack, though Smoochum's Trainer looks a bit too shocked at the double assault to do anything.

Caterpie, having no bug moves and seeing how Pidgey's Gust was brushed off, decides being anywhere near Roserade would be a bad idea and instead launches a String Shot at the flower Pokémon, binding its arms and legs in sticky silk and making it hard to move like it wants. Its Trainer looks more and more agitated as more and more status effects are heaped onto her Pokémon. Following your instruction, Shroomish launches itself headfirst at Roserade, easily learning Headbutt after seeing it so many times during the last battle, but the attack doesn't do much, the overwhelming power of the Roserade being so that it barely feels the attack.

"That was a nice entrance." You hear a distinctly feminine voice echo through your head. The way Nina looks around too makes it obvious that she heard it too. "I'm the Baltoy hanging on by a thread." She says, drawing your attention to the severely weakened Baltoy. "I'd back off of the Roserade unless you have a solid plan. The Sand Tomb it's stuck in is doing a lot to help us out, but our individual attacks aren't doing much to help. The two of you have bought us some time by limiting it's mobility, but that thing is capable of one-shot knocking out most, if not all, of the Pokémon here, so watch out. We're working on taking out everything around it so that we can focus our energies on it, so if you could help out on that front, we'd appreciate it."

Taking stock, you and Nina's Pokémon are unharmed as the Trainers of the attacked Pokémon were too surprised to do anything. You wouldn't count on that going on another round so from here on out, you'll have to worry about the one-hit wonder that is Roserade. Smoochum looks badly hurt after eating two Bite attacks at the same time. Not enough to be on the edge of consciousness, but you're betting she's not far from it. Roserade looks mostly indifferent to the damaging attacks, mostly annoyed by the Thunder Wave and String Shot it's stuck under.

On Route 110:

Koben
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Your PokéBall flies out, hitting Electrike in the head and drawing it into the Ball in a red light. It shakes once, twice... Oops! It breaks free from the Ball and launches itself at Honedge before anyone knows happening, hitting Honedge with another Tackle attack before backing off to lick its wounds. It looks like you'll need a little bit more before trying that again. On the bright side, you can see the PokéBall is still in one piece, ready for you to pick it up and reuse it.
