Nodding to acknowledge the both of them got your orders, they’re once again assaulted by the lightning speed of the Zigzagoon coming in with another Headbutt. However, with Eevee being on the defensive, she handily dodges the incoming attack and uses Tail Whip while it goes past, making it think that she’s so injured that she’s now trying to seduce and making it lower its guard.
“C’mon, Chinny, try it again! This time, give it a little more juice!” Nina says, coaxing her Chinchou into trying again. This time, Chinchou lights up and stays charged until it collides with Pidgey. Soaked as it is, the newly learned Shock attack really lights it up, leaving the bird stubbornly holding onto consciousness. Seeing her chance, she tosses a PokéBall at it, the Pidgey being enveloped in a red light. The PokéBall barely shakes before the core turns a calm white, signaling the end of the battle with Pidgey. “Alright!” Nina cries as she picks up the PokéBall. Nina now has a Pidgey!
Seeing things have wrapped up with Pidgey, Caterpie turns its attention to its evolved form, launching a Tackle attack at it before it has time to Harden again. It doesn’t do too terribly much since it’s already made itself so tough though.
Following your command, Shroomish launches a Tackle attack at Zigzagoon while its attention is on Eevee, catching it by surprise and, with its defense already lowered, landing a critical hit! That blow doesn’t seem to have agreed with the Zigzagoon, the Pokémon looking more than a little shaky on its feet right now.
Poochyena, trying to throw off its Paralysis, charges towards Eevee to Bite her once again. Due to her being ready to dodge attacks and its paralysis, it doesn’t land the attack though. While its stumbling off its miss, you launch your PokéBall, catching it by surprise as it catches the Poochyena right between the eyes. Absorbed into the PokéBall in a red light, the thing thrashes violently to get out, the intensity making you prepare to go grab your Ball when Poochyena breaks out. That doesn’t happen though as the Ball’s center turns a calm white, signaling that Poochyena is now yours!
It looks like things are solidly in your favor! Nina’s captured the Pidgey and you’ve got the Poochyena, leaving an injured Zigzagoon and an unresponsive Metapod left.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
“Alright, Iron Claw, get pumped then become their most feared shadow! Seal, Flan, make sure there’s a revolving boot policy on Chrys!” Alexis calls out, giving her Pokémon fresh orders, though why she had to do it in code in a small mystery to you.
“Everyone, cover the new guys. Anyone without Pokémon, make sure theirs stay on their feet as long as possible, but keep out of the line of fire!” The school girl commands as she and the remaining Officers make their way back to the front line. Looks like everything’s evened up and things are about to get underway in earnest now.
Following Alexis’ command, Scizor seems to straight up disappear, only to reappear in different places, letting no one get a beat on where he might go next. You think it just used Agility! Once the enemy Pokémon are thoroughly confused, it ends up behind Misdreavus. The ghost Pokémon tries to back away in shock, but Scizor follows close behind, leading you to believe that the second part of the order might have been a Pursuit attack based on how hurt the Misdreavus seems to be because of it. Immediately after, Scizor goes missing again, usually appearing near Alexis when he bothers to show up at all. Shaking off its shock at Scizor’s attack, Misdreavus decides its orders are still in effect since it comes after Chrys with another Astonish. It quickly learns what Alexis means by a revolving boot policy though as both Flan and Seal come to cover Chrys, Seal eating the attack instead of its intended target.
Dusky, setting up shop in front of Miyu, rains Embers down on Roselia, forcing the Pokémon to take cover under its hand roses to avoid getting hit anywhere vital. The enemy Snorunt, having no warning that an attack is coming its way, doesn’t have that luxury, eating the full brunt of the attack. At that sight, you begin to understand a bit more why Alexis speaks to her Pokémon in code since it makes her attacks that much harder to predict.
“Sandslash, that Baltoy looks tough. Take it out!” You hear a Team Magma grunt call out. Following orders, the Sandslash straight up bulldozes past Flan and Seal and unleashes a Fury Cutter on Chrys. While this blow may not have hurt her too much, having had time to prepare herself since it had to get past her guard, you note that each time Fury Cutter is used successfully its power doubles. You doubt Chrys could take a blow too much more powerful than what she’s already taken. Alexis seems to have the same thought, throwing a glance Chrys’ way. Whatever she said must have put Alexis at ease because she turns back around to survey the battle in progress.
“Houndour, put some pressure on that Roselia!” An Officer Jenny calls out. Immediately after, the dog Pokémon rains Embers down on its target, its guard still up from eating Dusky’s attack. Still, that Roselia is looking real shaky, just barely standing up under its own power. You doubt it could take another attack.
“Growlithe, defrost that Snorunt!” A male officer shouts. The Growlithe opens its mouth, only for you to see it looks like it’s on fire! Dashing forward like that to intimidate the enemy, it bites down in a vicious Fire Fang attack. You can actually see steam raising up from the Snorunt as the Growlithe backs up, its attack complete.
“Hey, Zubat, I want that Baltoy down and out!” Geez, it seems like Alexis was right to put an honor guard around Chrys with all the Pokémon going after her! The bat Pokémon swoops down from the sky, intending on biting her and stealing her health. Flan busts up that plan, however, taking Chrys’ place and having her energy drained instead. Chrys retaliates immediately, launching another Psychic attack at the offending Zubat, making it hard for the Pokémon to raise back into the air to get away from her. It seems that Zubat in particular doesn’t take attacks well. There’s no time to contemplate it, however, as the other Zubat comes in to do what the other failed to. It fails as well as Seal jumps in front of her, taking the attack in her stead. And at that moment, Flan shows you the “boot” part of the revolving boot policy. As the first Zubat gets further and further away, she launches an Aurora Beam at it, the brightly colored icy beam smashing into its back. Out of energy, it goes down hard, falling to the ground unconscious.
“Snorunt, drop an ice bomb into that crowd. They set themselves up so beautifully.” The leisure suit Underground Trainer says. What he means by that becomes clear as an Icy Wind envelopes Flan, Seal, and Chrys. While it doesn’t affect the two Ice types much, the chill definitely harms Chrys, who is now visibly shaking, though you don’t know if that’s due to chill or due to fatigue. It’s probably not a good idea to have to find out though.
Continuing to follow orders and desperately needing to recharge, Roselia throws a Mega Drain at Miyu, hoping to steal some of her energy. Fortunately for Miyu, the sand in its eyes prevents it from aiming properly and it misses Miyu entirely, making this a wasted turn it cannot afford. Also as if to taunt the Roselia for its miss, Miyu curls into a ball, decreasing the amount of vulnerable spots she has on her in the first place before launching a Swift attack at Poochyena as you requested. Barely standing as is, Poochyena goes down as the attack slams into it.
“Baltoy, we can’t allow that Vulpix to have free reign! Crush it with a Rock Tomb!” Unable to move or risk an attack getting to Miyu, Dusky has no choice but to eat the tons of rock flying at her, pinning her down and decreasing her movement speed. The fact that it was Super Effective probably didn’t help matters. Dusky seems like she’s doing alright though since that was the first attack she’s taken this fight.
“Machop, take the legs out from under that Snorunt!” A female officer shouts. Wasting no time, Machop rushes the enemy Snorunt than kicks low, launching a brutal Low Sweep that surely injured its legging. It won’t be moving to attack as quickly as it once did, that’s for sure.
“Numel, I want those Ice-types melted! Use a Flame Burst!” A Team Magma grunt commands, his Pokémon immediately throwing an unstable ball of fire at Flan that looks about ready to blow. Fortunately, you don’t have to see just how unstable it really is since, with the sand in its eyes, the fire ball goes wide and misses Flan. The look on Alexis’ face though says she’s questioning the wisdom of bunching all her Pokémon up like she did.
With all the enemy Pokémon having attacked, the 3 defeated officers move in, spraying Chrys, Miyu, and Flan down with Potions to keep them in the game. Chrys in particular looks remarkably better once she’s received some medical attention, her shivering stopped and seeming to be ready to get back into things.
“Seal, cancel revolving boot for now. Finish off that Roselia before it becomes trouble!” Alexis commands her Spheal. Command in place, Seal takes her eyes off the Sandshrew she was targeting before and launches her Aurora Beam at Roselia. The shock of the attack coming for her instead of the Sandshrew that seemed the sure bet prevents her from putting a guard up and it eats the attack full on. When the rainbow beam is done, Roselia is on the floor, finished.
“Oh, poo! Roselia’s down.” Its owner says, though she doesn’t sound all that upset about it. She sounds more like she just broke a nail than like she just lost a Pokémon. You see the rose Pokémon enveloped in red light before it leaves the field, only to be replaced in an instant with a Roserade who looks leagues stronger than the Roselia. “Congratulations, traitor, it looks like you made me stop playing around.” She says as she comes to the front of the crowd, finally showing her face. The woman is drop dead gorgeous, a flowing red hair making a velvet curtain down her back to her waist, piercing blue eyes filled with mirth as she’s forced to use her stronger Pokémon. She wears a simple green dress, the chest open to reveal gratuitous amounts of cleavage, of which there’s a lot of since you estimate her to be a DD-cup, ending right above her feet to reveal purple high heels and green stockings. Seeing her, Alexis quietly curses to herself.
“I should’ve known it was you, Rose.” She says, her face hardening as she realizes just what you guys are up against. Looking to the boy in the leisure suit, she says, “Which makes you her boy toy of the year, Z.” He merely gives her a small smile and a shrug at being referred to as a boy toy, as if he knows and doesn’t care to do anything about it. “And you…” she says, turning her gaze to the boy with the spiky hair. He puffs out his chest in pride and puts on a grating smile. “I have no idea who you are. You must not be that important.” The boy deflates instantly, Rose and Z both looking like they are restraining bouts of laughter until Rose straight up loses it and falls to the floor, clutching her ribs. At that, the boys face turns dark.
“The name’s Eiji. Remember it. You’ll be screaming it as you beg me to stop later.” He growls, danger in his eyes as he makes his threat. Alexis, however, seems completely unaffected by it.
“Yeah, yeah, tell me one I haven’t heard before.” She says, waving him off. Turning to you, she looks a lot more serious than her face would imply. “Watch out for Rose. She’s not as high up as Nel, but she’s firmly way out of my league without help. Z, I could probably take in a straight up fight since he was literally recruited to be her living dildo, but Rose… I’d be taking a loss.” She quietly says to you, probably to avoid freaking out the other combatants on your side. Right now, the two of you and your Pokémon are the only thing between victory and defeat for them, so looking like you two know what the hell you’re doing is great for team morale. If they knew Alexis was shivering in her boots at the possibly of fighting Rose, things might not go so well.
Finishing up the round, Geodude launches into the sky, coming down and throwing a earth-shattering punch, causing a small quake that centralizes on Numel. With how badly the ground was shaking under your feet, you know it was no gentle quake and, with Magnitude being Super Effective on Numel, it doesn’t seem like the Pokémon took the hit particularly well. It still stands strong, but it leans over to the side every once in a while, as if trying not to fall down.
Taking advantage of the confusion the quake caused, Trapinch sneaks behind Misdreavus again and launches another Feint Attack, causing the ghost Pokémon to waver in the air, trying hard to stay floating. This makes Eiji release a small curse under his breath and reach for his PokéBall belt. “Drifloon, back Misdreavus up.” He says, calling his second Pokémon to the field. To be honest, this Pokémon doesn’t seem all that strong compared to the Misdreavus, but he must have called it out for a reason, so keeping your guard up would probably be a good idea.
At the end of this skirmish, Misdreavus looks like it’s only holding on, but now its backed up by Drifloon so getting those final blows on it might just be a challenge. Numel looks a bit unstable on its feet after eating a Magnitude, but it doesn’t look too terribly close to going down just yet. The enemy Baltoy wasn’t attacked this round, so it doesn’t look any worse than it did last round, same for the only remaining Zubat and the Sandslash. Z’s Snorunt looks close to being unconscious, barely standing due to the damage to its legs, constantly blowing cold breath on the site of where it was hit with Fire Fang. Roserade and Drifloon are fresh into the battle, looking at peak condition and ready to rumble.
On your side, Dusky looks a bit hurt after eating a Rock Tomb and her legs are a bit battered by the rocks that pinned her down, but she doesn’t look too bad. The same can be said for Miyu, who didn’t take a hit this round and was even healed a bit. She actually looks better than she did going into this round! Chrys is still looking a little unstable, but not nearly as bad as she was before she got a Potion. Still, it’d probably be best to watch out for her since she seems to be such a popular target. You’re not sure what’ll happen to Miyu’s willingness to cooperate if Chrys goes down, so probably best to not let it happen. Pretty much no one else was hit, so they’re all in fairly good condition, what damage Flan did take while defending Chrys mostly healed up by her first aid.
