(during the crazy transport ride...)
Zan vaults into the cargo trailer, helps the others inside, then takes a carefully-concealed position from which he can fire with his Beam Pistol, if necessary. Fortunately, the majority of the monsters are drawn far more to the front of the transport, as that's where the radio's blaring from. Officer Silent could've picked a better song, though...those lyrics aren't really the type to inspire hope. When the officer gives word that he's gonna flip-bash some nimrods, Zan braces himself, then vaults back out, pistol in hand, quickly helping the others out, and takes one last look back during their rush for the tram station.
The sight is grisly. The numerous mercs and scientists that sought to tame their beasts, instead become lunch for them, and he could've sworn he saw a severed arm get tossed at one point...well, whatever. Serves the bastards right.
Zan's combat training allows him to reach the bulkhead a slight bit sooner than the others, and he waves them in with his hand, keeping point from the cover of a wall corner. As the bulkheads seal, he smirks and flips one last birdie in the monsters' direction, just to spite them. This soldier is living to fight another day.
(on the tram...)
As he gets the datapad and skims it over, Zan grits his teeth with anger. So, this is how Phoenix does business? Well, if he finds one of their jackass higher-ups, he'll have a real good time taking them apart...literally. The sudden stopping of the tram, however, gets his thoughts back on present situations, spotting Silent messing around with what appears to be large cables of a white, sticky substance. Looking up with the officer, he spots a giant...spider? And it speaks in rhyme? The hell?
Zan himself points his Beam Pistol up at the spider, but doesn't fire yet; he's unsure of what on the nearby reactor he might damage if he misses. Officer Silent, on the other hand, wastes no time in going Rambo with his two hand cannons. That, combined with the follow-up molotov seems quite effective, but when the spider sends the tram tumbling, he doesn't even have time to click his XL System back on, before him and Rosalie are catapulted to a harsh landing on God knows what floor. Mid-flight, he quickly pulls Rosalie in, and twists his body in the air to have it land on the platform first, using it to cushion the young lady. If asked why at that very moment, he wouldn't be able to answer; his body just seemed driven by instinct.
"Unnnngh..." Zan groans in pain after the landing, with a grimace to match on his face. "You...you alright...Rosy..?"
