As the winds kept swirling about, slowly the portal started shrinking faster; but as it did a strange, ominous darkness was summoned; engulfing both Minerva and Elia. Both girls were able to see perfectly fine, even though the sunlight was filtered somewhat, but because Heidi was sitting too far away the only thing she could see was the darkness. Minerva's humming started to reach its peak, and with it the portal shrunk at a rapid rate.

"You...! W-wait, my daughter...? How did... When did...? But you... and i was..." Charlie was stuttering incoherently and after a couple seconds he noticed it as well. He took a deep breath and relaxed, before looking up again. "My daughter; you found her...? The same wine-red color fur as yours, cheeky grin and a bossy tone of speech..? Did you find my Morte...?" He asked half hopeful, half disbelief

"TRY NOT TO BREAK YOURSELF!" The elf called back at Zombie, laughing out loud at his own joke. The goblin too chuckled slightly, but was too busy ogling the guy's crotch.
The slime girls were about to hug Zombie when he whipped the bow around but, like before, as soon as the bow touched the slime on the left it got sucked in. Sure, it staggered the live jelly for a second, but it didn't stop the other from engulfing his entire arm and shoulder, as well as wrapping an arm around his waist.
Pretty much strapped on the right side and about to be trapped on the left side as well, the near future looked grim for Zombie. If only he had just shot those arrows instead of stabbing with them...

Victor can't believe his eyes...his arms have just...transformed into a pair of wings...brown, yellow, and light grey feathers, lined up in horizontal rows, top-to-bottom in that order. He doesn't have the tail needed to balance himself in flight, but he flaps the wings anyway, at least to get a feel for them...yet, doing so seems almost natural, as if the instincts were already lying within, waiting to be awakened. Could the gods have granted him true wings, in memory of Icarus? Well, whatever the reason, he accepts this blessing.

His wings seem quite strong, as well. A few small flaps actually blow some noticeable gusts along, as indicated by Vera's fur. If he were to move them at full-force, he could probably blow over anything the size of a full-grown bloodhound. The fact these wings came at the price of his arms will complicate any battles he may have to fight, as most of his improvised martial arts involved redirecting with one arm and punching with the other...however, he still has his legs, and if used right, he can make higher jumps with aid from his wings. Thinking of which...

"Let's try something..."Victor takes a deep breath, gets a running start (obviously in a direction that won't collide with Vera), and kicks off the ground into a running leap. "Alley-oop!" Once his feet are completely airborne, he tries flapping his new wings to get a little more height and distance. It seems to be working, but he keeps his feet ready for the ground, so he won't stumble on the landing. His heart is racing from the thrill, a kind of fun he hasn't had since the time he went to the county fair at age 12, and beat their "bucking bronco" challenge.

If she wants him to get stronger, he can still do so, and his speed combined with her power makes for quite a balanced duo."Besides, I believe that everything happens for a reason, even if it isn't clear right away; something tells me that these wings will come in handy sooner or later." "Hmm..." Victor ponders which option sounds best. He's certainly willing to appreciate Vera's concerns about her own village, not to mention that a boy with wings where his arms should be might seem...suspicious. The desert village and the one past the forest have their own pros and cons. For the desert, they may be able to find some more exotic items, and it would help him get to know the more diverse cultures...then again, it's a desert, so crossing it may not be so easy. The forest path, on the other hand, may put them in danger of wild beasts, and his new wings might not get as much room...but it also seems like a safer path than the desert, in terms of the actual environment.

"Between the desert and the forest, I think the woods sound like a better path. I'm not too sure on what wildlife we may encounter, but you're pretty strong in your own right, and if I'm going to get stronger, a bit of experience may do me some good. Unarmed as I may be, I do know a few moves." Victor rolls his shoulders to loosen up a little (assuming he can do so with the wings), then stands next to Vera, and looks in the direction of the forest. "So, shall we go?" he remarks, while looking up to Vera's face with a smile.
