Suzu heard Officer K'sharr's questions, but they quickly became the last thing on her mind as she and Rhialla became surrounded by zombies. "Seriously, fuck this town!" She says to herself before the zombie in front of her bursts into flames. There's only one person here who uses magic, so she figures it was That Woman. She absolutely won't thank her for that, but she is glad the zombie is gone. Seeing Rhialla charge the other zombie, Suzu picks up her harp and begins playing a courageous tune to bolster the spirits of everyone around.

Janeei hastily steps around the corner and grunt noncommittally at the sight of the other zombie. The zombie groans loudly as it leans forward and slams into celebrilith. Celebrilith is hurt badly, but you have a feeling it could have been a lot worse.

Kal... Does nothing! She runs up to Celebrilith, obviously concerned and trying to heal her, but she realised she couldn't. Curses.

Celebrilith, however, does plenty. In a flurry of swipes and bites, she manages to land a powerful rake across the zombie's face, tearing right through it and causing it to collapse.

And Rhialla promptly moved around the freshly re-killed corpse to pull out her wand and tap the Eidolon twice. Almost full healing! "... Keep an eye out, everyone... Be careful, okay?" She sounded distressed still. More undead were popping up... It was shaking her to the core. She wasn't the type of Cleric to be slaying undead, she was the sort to heal and redeem!

Suzu sighs a breath of relief as the second zombie goes down. "What Rhialla said. So far, we've found a Necromancy ritual set up in one of the houses and a bloody, undying skeleton in the same house." Suzu says, adding on to her friends words. "Well, not undying since sprinkling Holy Water or channeling Positive Energy into them will kill them permanently, but you get the point. Well, the point is I dunno how many of those things are left. Officer, if you wanna come with me, I can point out the body used in the ritual. Maybe you know something about them."

All this commotion, and still no guards were even in sight. Monika was already getting scared about the state of her home before Suzu started to answer her earlier question. She listened rather blankly as she reloaded her bow and slung it back over her shoulder, then looked up at her with eyes the belied her suddenly stoic exterior. "...Alright. Show me what you've found." She still wasn't certain of the guilt or innocence of this group of outsiders. They didn't seem bad, but if they weren't turning the town upside-down, who could be?

Turning to her friend, Suzu says, "Are you coming? I'll understand if you want to hang back.". She remembers how badly that house messed with Rhialla earlier and doesn't want to subject her to the same thing for no good reason. Then she turns to the officer and says, "Alright, follow me then!" and starts walking back to the bloody mess. Once she and the officer arrive, she points to the cut open mess that was once a catman and says, "There it is."

Rhialla, naturally, followed. She didn't want to leave the two alone to possibly fend off any further undead that hid away- she was sure that Garian and Janeei could protect the others, let alone Kal's Eidolon being able to. "From what I can tell... Umm... This man had several organs removed and sliced open to make as much of a mess as possible... Suzu's the one that identified the markings... We both came to the conclusion of necromancy being at play as soon as we were attacked by that skeleton." She looked to the bones near the doorway to emphasise her point.

After Celebrilith had dealt with the Zombie, and had her life restored Kal, Kal had come back to her sense's she'd been aiming to go to the inn, to rest so she could use her magics again to support Celebrilith. The fact she had ran next to her Eidolon mid combat was out of character for her when she had no magic, and the look she was getting off her said a lot she wasn't happy. Getting back to the inn, Kal and Celebrilith entered through the front door.

Monika hesitated outside the door for as long as she could, not really wanting to see what she was told was in store for her. There was no way around it though, so with a final steadying breath she followed Suzu into the room. Instantly she was assaulted by the smell of blood, and layed out on the table was horribly mutilated, but still recognizable, form of the doctors young assistant. Gods, the monsters in the wilds were brutal, but it was nothing like this. She realized that she'd never really learned his name. He went by "Shep" and Monika, at least, had never even gotten close enough to simply learn his name. The pang of guilt she felt at that reverberated for a while as she continued to scan the room. She was never going to identify a pile of bones, but she already knew it had to be Dr. Mirser. The kindly old gentleman would have never left his protege to such a fate. How could this have happened?

"Who... Who did this?" was all she could think to say at the moment as her mind reeled with the implications of everything that had happened. Zombies, catfolk zombies, no guards, creepy children, and this. How many were dead? The thought occurred to her that it might be quicker to ask how many were alive.

Seeing the catwoman as she is, obviously recognizing the cut apart man on the table, Suzu's heart goes out to the officer. She has no idea how she'd react to seeing a place she loved torn to pieces like this, unsure how many people are left alive and who she'll see come back as a zombie. Partially because she doesn't have a place that important to her, but that's beside the point. "I don't know." She says to the distraught question, the only thing she can really think to say. "But I'm not leaving until I find out. It's beyond wrong to do this to unbalance the cycle of life and death like this to even one person. To do it to a town is unforgivable. If only so the dead may rest in peace, we need to find this person."

Turning to Kasidra, Janeei informs her, "I need some particular ingredients in order to create the vessel you require."

Seeing as how everyone grouped up and left after the battle, Garian sighed and decided to explore the houses around the town in hopes of finding a survivor and finding out more of what had happened here.

Kasidra would nod to Janeei looking curious as to what she meant "Vessal? What ingrediants?"

Slowly bowing her head to Monika, the Aasimar would carefully step in, arms spread as though to offer her a hug. Her symbol of Sarenrae glinted faintly in the available light, a beautiful gold much like her hair. "I'm... So very sorry..." If she wasn't halted, Rhialla would embrace the catfolk woman, holding her tight for just a brief moment before pulling away entirely. "We will get to the bottom of this... I swear it by the Dawnflower's Light."

Inside the inn there are wooden walls and an abandoned desk. Upstairs is a narrow hallway lined with several wooden doors. One of the doors appears to have been ripped of its hinges.

Kal makes her way to the room that had the door ripped off the hinges and looks inside, she wanted to know what had happened there but mostly she wanted to make sure nothing nasty could be waiting. Celebrilith following behind Kal looks out for anything that might harm Kal.

Monika just nods and accepts the hug rather limply. There was so much she just didn't understand, and the things she did were horrible. It might take several days for this to really sink in for her, but for now she had processed what she could. "The whole town..." She parrots Suzu while staring into space for a few moments and thumbing a double chevron pin on her collar, wondering how she could have failed so completely. "I have to do something." She says heading toward the door. She had to at least check on Toshar. He was the closest thing she had to family.

Suzu doesn't have anything to say to Officer K'sharr as the woman takes in just how much she lost. When the officer says she has to do something, Suzu maintains silence, but follows after her. There's probably still undead crawling around this town and it wouldn't do for the catwoman to get caught alone between a horde of them. Of course, if there's a horde then it's probably best to run anyway, but that's beside the point. Point is, K'sharr shouldn't be alone. Period.

Kal does not discover any hostile during her quick scan of the inn.

Janeei holds up her palm in front of herself and begins counting on her fingers. "Let's see, I need a sould gem, an arcane staff, and a library. Then I can begin the ritual.

After a short walk that she'd made more times than she could think to count, Monika found herself standing outside a door that had never before been anything but a welcome sight. Now, looking at it filed her with dread. What would she do if Toshar wasn't there? Worse yet, what would she do if she found him an empty husk, shambling around the house? She tried to stay calm and listened intently as she rapped her knuckles against the door. "Tosh? Are you in there??" she asked through the door, unable to mask the desperate hopefulness in her tone.
