Elsa followed the assistant into the room, a few paces behind her. The room was large, filled with all manner of equipment, weapons and tools that she didn't even think existed, or should for that matter. "Jessica..." she said with a heavily northern influenced accent. "My common is not good, but what did the mayor want with us mages?" she said, the emphasis on the word mages instead of witches. She looked around the room as she talked, hovering only a few feet away from the assistant at any given time. Spears... she thought to herself, she walked up and down the rows of spears, before finding one she liked. She didn't take it however, waiting for a response from Jessica.

To Sanowa and Saphira, Jessica says ”Wow, a dragon! I've never seen one before! How'd you two meet?”

Jessica then responds to Elsa's query. ”You are all powerful mages, capable of helping our town. A weak person would be overwhelmed by the powers of the bandits, but you ten are capable of withstanding them and we hope capable of coming out victorious from your assault.”

Jessica then starts to tell you about the battle. ”The bandits are located to the west of Ogden, in a valley. They are heavily defended from assault from the south, however our scouts report that their defenses are lax from the north. It'll require you to climb up the steep hills surrounding, but the tactical advantage will help you defeat them. Our scouts reported that there are 20 of them, but there could be more hidden, be careful. At least 6 of them are powerful mages like yourselves, capable of casting powerful magicks.”

She then turns back to the supply table. Showing you multicolored potions, she says ”These are potions that will help you defeat the bandits. They all make use of your energy to heal you, reducing your ability to cast magic for a time. The exception to this is the blue potion, which restores your mana. From the left, the potions are pink for healing, blue for mana, red for power, green for agility, orange for control (finesse), yellow for accuracy, and purple for knowledge. Please take one each, they'll help you in your battle and your travels.”

All of the mages present look at the photo of Jered, and Roxia recognizes his face. He remembers Jered stopping and chatting with him on a lax day.

As Melek introduces himself, Jessica is slightly off-put by his form. ”I've never seen anyone like you... Are you sure you'll be safe?”

Jessica then grabs a topaz tipped wand, handing it to Roxia. “You'll probably want one of these...”

As Shelby speaks of her past, you feel a dark regret in her. As she shows Jered's picture, you get a faint feeling for his personality; a warm, protective, and nice man.

You also feel Jessica's nervousness as she approaches Roxia to hand him a wand.

"I don't care if I am capable, why should I fight? I was merely at the wrong place at the wrong time" Elsa states flatly. The other nine witches around her seemed content to go to war, happily choosing weapons of slaughter. Again the slime man introduces himself, causing Elsa to back away from his general direction, turning her back on him before once more looking at the various spears they had in the armory, deciding to take a simple metal shaft spear, tipped with a jagged point. It was heavier than what she would normally use, but it was better than javelins. Debating whether to ditch the three she bought for the spear, she took it in hand, testing the balance of it.

Roxia stared at Melek with a bit of fascination. A Breaking element user? No, not just that. The way that his body would react to everything showed that he wasn't just actively using it, it was almost like he was made of the element, if that made any sense. Roxia's inner scholar noted to ask him a few questions, if he felt like answering.

He soon snagged a trio of pink and blue potions, and as an afterthought, grabbed an orange one as well.

As for Shelby's missing person, Roxia immediately began to draw memories from his head of that day. Perhaps there was a clue left behind from that encounter.

So caught up with remembering that day, he almost missed Jessica handing him a topaz... wand. How did she know his primary element? No matter, as he dismissed the thought, and accepted the wand. Somewhere along the 3 seconds, he lost control over himself. He somehow ended up, to his surprise, with a small smile on his lips as he graciously thanked her. Once he had himself back under control, he stared at the wand. He hadn't even used a wand during his time at the academy. Mainly for the most part, wilds didn't use wands (a lot of them didn't even have hands), but also, the fact that using a wand or a similar accessory usually meant specialization among the magicks. Roxia wondered, as he stowed the wand, if the town would get mad if he cannibalized the wand for his own ends.

Kal stared at Jessica, the nervousness had her did she know something she wasn't allowed to share, or was she just nerous due to Jared, she didn't know but Kal took as many of the blue potions as she could store in a back pack. If they restored mana then it would be useful if not for her the others. She took the effort thought to move behind Jessica, "Why are you nervous?" It was blunt and to the point as well as being an answer she wanted sooner rather then later, Though Kal did take note to remember the man in the photo Shelby had shown if he was what she felt just from the image then Kal would help reunite the girl with her brother, if nothing more then to give her back the warmth she had lost. Not quite the same as the warmth Kal had lost Wilhelm's disappearance was still a mystery to her and being the only human to willingly take care of her and train her, Kal would find out why he left but that would wait.

Melek gave Jessica weak smile. "Yea, there aren't too many of me around." Melek said proudly. "And yea, I'll be fine. As long as I stay calm, I can't do much damage." Thankfully, Melek was pretty calm right now, so he wasn't bubbling too much. But looking at the potions, he suddenly decided he'd need some. Stretching an arm out past its current length, he used his three long, angular fingers to absorb 3 blue potions into his skin. Bringing his arm back, the 3 potions sat inside of his gelatinous form, slowly moving down his arm, into his torso, and then down his leg. There, it'd be protected by his platinum armor leggings. Thankfully they were made of glass as well, meaning he couldn't dissolve it, even if he tried.

Grabbing the potions and placing them in her bag she went back and grabbed a few extra things of water just in case she had the need to fly or use her wings for any purpose it should be a good way to hydrate them and get her in the sky; Angels grew tired though of all the briefing she wanted to get this party on the road and start by moving now, she felt impatient for some reason but she figured it had to do with being excited to go on her first mission, however it was just her want to leave the putrid place and move on with her life, the place she would be protecting now with her life this city she despised, but she knew not why.

With a cheeky smile Sanowa looks Jessica in the eyes and says " the most I'll tell you right now is I found her egg and raised her, any more then that you need to get to know us better, then we might tell you. looking over the table of wands and potions Sanowa picks out a few blue ones, a couple pink and orange just incase she needed them. After putting her potions away she looks over the wands trying to make up her mind on a staff or a wand. Picking up a wand and a staff Sanowa looks over at Jessica with a smile and asks " what do you think wand or staff, and do you have any wands or staves with a empty gem socket?".

Jessica says "Besides the money we'll pay you, the fame of your deeds, and the thanks of the townspeople? Nothing. You're here because you wanted to know what this world could hold, because you wanted to get away from the tundras of Ruuina."

Kal's question makes Jessica blush slightly. "I'm just nervous because you're all so unfamiliar to me."

At this point, her mind becomes mostly blank, though you can still feel small thoughts in her mind of you and the others.

Your memories go back to a quiet day in your shop. Having cleared all of your customers' issues for the day, you settled down to see if anyone would come by in the later hours of the day. As you sat, Jered walked up to you, starting to talk. You exchanged stories, but you can't recall much of that day. Knowing not more than his face and name, you aren't sure what Shelby's asking you for.

Jessica looks over at you as you pace in impatience, and she says "Don't worry, you'll be heading out soon"

To Sanowa, Jessica says "I look forward to hearing the story then!" She then sees you looking at the wands, and says "A wand will work well for you, I'd say. We have empty wands, but you'd need an artificer to attach a new gem..."

Smiling she nodded back at her and went back to grab a ruby staff instead of the sapphire one that she had first picked up it would have been a problem if she had started using a water based gem for her fire moves. Well making her way back over to the door she sat on the ground next to Jessica and relaxed and waited for the journey to begin she actually started to meditate to pass the time in hr head.

Arkalam browsed through the supplies for a quartz stave to augment his stasis and acid skills. As he did so, he felt the eyes of the group fall upon him. "Arkalam," he stated, following the lead of the others who had already introduced themselves.

Sighing a little Sanowa picks up a topez wand examining it for any special traits in the gem before looking over her shoulder at Jessica to say. " I think I will take that empty socket wand and this one... Never know when I might find someone to help me attach the gem I have." looking over the wand Sanowa quickly makes up her mind that it will do just fine till later.

Deciding he both did not need and could not use anything else, Melek left the room, standing a few inches off of the wall. Looking around for something to occupy his time with, he spotted Angel meditating down on the floor. For a while, Melek went through a meditation "phase", doing it whenever he could. I helped calm him down, but he had felt it was no longer needed. Deciding he should get to know his group members, he cleared his throat, trying to grab her attention. "Hey. You're Angel, right? I'm Melek, nice to meet you!" He said in his most friendly tone, pulling his face into a warm smile.

Roxia quietly exited the tent. For the briefest moment, he kept an eye of Jessica.
Something did not sit right with him at the moment.
Once he was out, he casually leaned against a tree, and drew out the lodestone again.
Wanting to try an manipulate a larger field, he now attempted to make the lodestone slowly orbit him and the tree.

You rub the small yellow diamond that Borden gave you. You wonder if you could find an artificer to attach the gem to your wand.

You attempt to make the lodestone orbit, but you find it's much harder than it seems. You are unable to make it orbit more than 1/2 a rotation; it either flies out or pulls in to you. Thinking of how to change this, you set up metallic rods in the orbit, and by sending electricity through these rings in series, you can make the lodesone orbit at moderate speed. Trying to increase or decrease the speed makes it hit the poles, screwing up its orbit. It is difficult for you to keep the timing and power consistent. You only manage an average of 8 rotations before failing.

"Jessica, you talk like you know me, but don't be so naive" Elsa said in a flat tone, before spinning on the ball of her heel, her hand sewn white-leather boots gaining purchase on the rough floor. Taking spear in hand she, pulled it smoothly off the weapon rack, in one elongated gesture, before spinning it around in a half arc, testing if it truly was as balanced as it felt. It didn't have the natural feel of a weapon made from nature itself, but it would serve it's purpose well enough. "Anywhere I can test this better?" she said cradling it against her shoulder, both hands on the shaft.

Sanowa looks over at Jessica with a smile and asks with soft and pleasing voice " Will you be joining us on this adventure? and do you know of anyone who can attach this gem for me? " pulling the yellow Diamond out of her pocket briefly to show Jessica before stowing it again to keep others from knowing she had a rare jewel.

Jessica's face scrunches in focus, and a few seconds later a guard enters the room. He's outfitted with full metal armor and he's carrying a sword at his waist.

The guard sees you holding the spear and says "If you want to test that weapon, follow me. There's a courtyard where the guards practice, and you could spend a few minutes practicing before you head to battle."

Jessica then turns to Sanowa. "No, I won't be joining you. I have no skill in combat, and I am needed here. As for your gem; we have an artificer in this town, but he's currently south in Inkla helping the town guard mount their gems."

Sanowa's smile drops off at Jessica's words along with her hopes " thanks... I guess I'm ready to go then." With everything ready to go Sanowa leaves the tent to wait with angel and melek.

Looking at the unique looking creature Angel smiled for she was getting some attention which she didn't mind and waved at him with her hand covered by her longsleeved robe."Hey, yeah my name is Angel nice to meet you." Even that little show of interest made Angel smile and she couldn't stop she thought that he was sweet for introducing himself to her, and she appreciated the gesture; looking at him now she awaited a response. He seemed nice she thought, Angel now started thinking it should be good to get on the good sides of her companions so that in the future they will have her back indefinitely.
