"Already doing that Captain" Kal said, she flipped the short range scanners to find the spike signal, if the long range scanners were losing the signal due to the distance it travels and time it takes then the short range scanners might pick up the signal and give a better idea of what it is.

Her observation of the deck made, she leaves the bridge and heads back to her quarters. It's a mess, it doesn't look as cool as she thought it did when she left. Assuming nothing happens in the next hour or so, she takes down all the scraps and redoes the whole thing, sticking to the red and discarding the other two colors. Starfleet shirts were really durable, so she also made a few hammocks along the ceiling. Now it's a true Kzin's room, and hunting ground if any tribbles entered >:)

"Weapons ready captain, I can bring the shields up on your signal." Sarah glanced down at her console trying to find any targets on the sensors, she wouldn't lock onto the ship at this point but the sooner she could locate it the quicker she could act in case of an emergency.

Claire sighs and walks into the bridge. "Uh. Hi. I'm the engineer. I'm sorry if I'm bothering you guys..." she says some-what quietly. Obviously Claire is kind of all talk. Deep down, she is really nervous. She doesn't want to mess everything up. She runs her hand through her hair. "Um. Yeah..." she says as she looks around.

Fine tuning the sensors takes a few minutes and, before long, the sensor image resolves itself into a stream of neutrino particles moving on the exact same heading as the Gallant. What is unusual is that, while naturally occuring, neutrinos don't normally form a stream and travel at high warp speeds, even if they are slowing down.

The weapons systems respond as the targeting scanners sweep out ahead, trying to target on anything that could be bigger than a photon torpedo. They don't pick up anything, but the response is still smooth. While not a more combat-orinetated ship, the Gallan seems to have recieved advanced targeting systems.

Claire is on the bridge! The engineering station stands unused, but everyone seems to be concentrating on either their stations on the main viewer, which was currently showing an image of the stars whipping past the ship as it moved at velocities faster than light thanks only to the warp field generated by the nacelles, and the mix of matter / anti-matter going on down in Main Engineering

The Kzin spends her time making her quarters homely. There are no tribbles onboard, or any other vermin, at least as far as the inventory goes. Of course, that's not saying that someone might not have stored a pair of Cardassian Voles on board for the future...

Claire notices the engineering station. She runs over there and stands there. She looks around at everyone else and checks to see what everyone else was doing. She looks over at the main viewer and stares at it for a second. "Um. Uh..." she says quietly. Claire looks at the engineering station and tries to recognize things, but her mind blanks out from nervousness. "Oh god. This can end badly..." she mutters.

"Damn" Thinks the cat, seeing the inventory. She'll have to find some later, meanwhile they are about to get out of warp. The Kzin would rather be on deck when they drop out, so she quickly gets the lift back up and silently walks back in, staying near the walls to distract attention.

The Counselor turns to the commander seeing nothing out of the ordinary with the crew and with a slight uncertainty attempts to make small talk. "So commander what do you think of the ship and it's maiden voyage?" She asks with a light smile as she looks him over quickly.

"The Gallant sure is a fine ship. Capable for exploration as well as transport. She might not hold off a klingon attack fleet, but I'm sure she can take a few hits when it comes to battle. The crew looks trustworthy and definetely capable of the job. As for our plotted course, it's just a small skip around the block. The Paulson Nebula sounds ideal for a test run." he said, looking back at Alexandra with a charming smile.
Then he hears the comment from Commander Kal about the sensor spikes and after pulling the sensor image up to the console by his chair he watches, as the sensor image changes into the moving stream of neutrinos. "Hmm, that's odd. Could it be that..." he thought to himself, before speaking up: "Captain, I've heard of similiar events before. I think we are dealing with a cloaked ship here. Possibly a Romulan warbird or a Klingon Bird of Prey, which would represent a violation of the Neutral Zone Treaty." he said, turning to Captain Jorell.

Garian looked at Claire, "Glad you could make it." He smiled a bit, it seemed he tried to stay in a good mood despite what was happening. He then turned to the Commander, "That's exactly what I'm afraid of, let's hope it's just a defunct in the systems." He said, watching the view screens. He had to keep calm and a clear head in case of emergencies. "Make sure shields are up and that weapons are set, I want to be prepared for any emergencies. If it is a cloaked ship, then I want to know what they're doing here. But let's hope either they're not hunting us or it's just a malfunction." He told them.

"I can put up shields as soon as we're out of warp Sir. Weapons are ready but getting a weapons lock will be difficult unless they drop their cloak." Sarah said, she thought of ways of getting around a cloak but it was just blind firing until they could get a lock, they would loose a lot of energy shooting empty space.

[Goryokaku]

Kal, looks at the Captain, "I have found the signal again Captain, I would suggest raising shields although i'm only picking up neutrino particles Captain, which isn't unnaturally in it's self but when the neutrino particles are heading along the same course as us but the more unusual thing sir is they are travelling at warp speed. At a guess I would say it is a cloaked ship giving off a false signature." Kal begins to keep track so she can feed targeting information to the combat station if things got she did how ever glance at the commander she wasn't sure how he'd managed to work out what she was going to say before she had said it, all she'd mentioned was unusual spikes she hadn't said anything about the neutrino particles at that point, she did how ever high jack main viewer and changed the display to show where the strange particles were, she did rack her brains to think of a way to better identify the source with out appearing hostile, though the quickest solution would be a short burst tachyon particles in front of them to see if it highlights anything, Kal nodded to her self and decided to try an inverse Taychon Pulse.

The feline takes mental notes as all this happens. Yeah it's kinda cool there might be a cloaked ship outside waiting to blow them up, exciting, but her real concentration is how the captain orders his crew. He is able to change language to greet a late crew member, before going back to his serious tone to order the crew. Human males are very strange at how they can separate things like that, it's appears very effective when they command an entire ship. Friendly when needed, serious when needed, funny when needed, as a diplomat, the closest thing she can relate that to is culture swapping to help engage and relate more.

Alex nodded and smiled as Kal spoke confidant about the ship and their course. She quickly frowns at the mention of the blip in the sensors but otherwise says nothing of the matter. Nodding her approval to herself mainly at the course of action taken by the captain. she sat back in her chair now more professionally before turning to face the captain. "Captain. may I suggest you have the sensors checked to see if they are malfunctioning?"

[Gorbaz]

The Gallant swiftly makes its way to the Paulson Nebula, the particle trace leading them the whole way before dissappearing into the purple clouds where the signal degrades swiftly. Standard sensor scans picked up very little other than that. A more detailed scan may reveal more, which the inverse tachyon pulse seemed to do. Lightening up against the background of the nebula, the shilouette of a ship appeared. It had a slightly elongated body, a neck stretching out ahead of it, and a pair of wings, raised up at an angle...

The Caitian pressed a button, and the entire ship blows up.
