Jin tilted her head back, rather wistfully. Elemental Spirits were creatures like none other. In these increasingly harsh times, they seemed to exist more in fantasy and imagination than across the land. As humanity and the rival species had raged wars across the world, the spiritual essences and habitats of those great creatures began to die and crumble away. Jin herself, though, was no stranger to Elementals (as they were colloquially known). Her parents, being wizened Iievyr, told her of the Elemental Spirits being beasts of great and primal power. Individually, the strongest could take on whole battalions of soldiers and mages, but the Iievyr had respected them more as beating hearts of the world, rather than the war machines that the ignorant feared them as. Her mother had met one, as a child. Today, the Elementals were few and apart, but back in her parents' era the Fire Elementals lived populous on Mount Gruina, an enormous, violent volcano with many high and ashen perches that one found between Noomoahk's Cavern and the Valley of the Winds. Jin hummed.
She clenched her fist, the sudden emotion in her mind noticeable.
"They aren't the only source of Elemental Salts," she decided to mention, perhaps against her better judgment. Iievyr themselves were souls of nature -- elements incarnate, just as the true Elementals were. "Iievyr can also create them, like an alchemist can create potions. It's dif--" she cut herself off rather quickly, "I have heard it's difficult, but possible. Salts are good for anything from enchanting weapons to brewing ale. I once heard a story about a duke who sold his daughter to a rival nation for some Brew of the Four Elements." she mentioned, grinning a bit. That tale was a myth, but Four Elements Brew (as it was called) was valuable indeed. A quartet of Fire Salts, Ice Salts, Wind Salts and Earth Salts were mixed in during the brew process, making it... well, Jin had no idea how it tasted since she thought it a trivial waste of Salts, but as dwarven rumor had it, after a single tankard of it all other ale would seem inferior. This was, naturally, why so many alchemists got requests from liquor connoisseurs for Elemental Salts.
"As for the Elementals, they'll come back eventually." Jin stated, hopping up onto the lip of the wagon and folding her legs, one atop the other. She looked to Zeph. With little cargo to ship, she'd leased out space on this wagon to save money.
