The shimmering thing seemed to be the glass plate, holding a map of the school. which was lucky. the unlucky part however, was that the map only contained information about the ground floor. the first level was still shrouded in mystery. It was a bit plain, and it looked like some child had tried to add some more details, but left it as it was. As you could see, some rooms seemed accessable, while others seemed to be closed. You'd have to investigate to see if that was correct. other then a lot of classrooms, the ground floor held the gymnasium to the left, the auditorium to the right and the cafeteria to the far back, behind the schoolyard which someone found fun to put right in the middle of the school, which meant you'd have to cross the schoolyard to go from one part of the school to the next.

The second Duo and the bunch lay eyes on the map, however, a high-pitched, childish laugh could be heard, filling the entire entrance hall.
"Oh, whats this? Fresh souls, wandering in...?" One childish voice called out
"Souls of the living shouldn't roam about here, you know~" Another said
"Lets have a taste, shall we?" A third called out, considerably lower in pitch and dripping with malice and spite. A moment later the room started to shake and tilt like an earthquake was hitting the school, making the entire room shudder with impact.

The giant chandeliers in particular started swaying back and forth disturbingly, before one of them suddenly disconnected from the power grid. A flash later it disconnected from the roof altogether, and came assailing down on the group!

Jon was the first to get a little itchy feeling, making him look up and see the chandelier. Claire saw the chandeliers as well, and could hear the gnawing sounds of it breaking off the ceiling. The rest of them simply stood there gawking about, not knowing what the hell was happening, unknown to the danger coming right from above

Dax looks around fearfully as the children speak of tasting thier souls,"Umm I think the letter was right about the haunting-Ahhh!" He grabs the wall for support as the room begins to shake violently.

"Yeah no kidding" Duo said grabbing a hold of the nearest piece of furniture and held on tight as the room shook violently. he wasnt scared enough to want to leave yet. "everyone alright?"

Claire screams in shock. "Everyone move! The chandelier is falling!" she yells. She quickly jumps out of the way and ducks for cover.

Dax looks up in surprise and finds she is completely right,"Shit! You heard the lady move!!" Dax dives down a hallway away from the falling chandelier.

The ghost freaked Jason out. He was very superstitious, and ghosts were never good. He shuddered, but reminded himself that this may all be a joke.

Being at the back of the group, Jason heard Claire's warning and jumped back down the stairs, avoiding the chandelier. He didn't need to be told twice to get out of the way.

Jon feels that sensation, and was about to call out his own warning, but Claire beat him to the punch.

Since everyone else was already jumping back, Jon forgoes any life-saving tackles (unless somebody is really slow on the draw), and simply dive-rolls away with slightly less shock than the others on his face. He's come under fire before, so things like that are done more on impulse than anything else.

Once the chandelier's done wreaking havoc, Jon sighs to relieve tension, and calls out: "Is everyone alright?" Well, this clinches it: the rich bastard has gone from a potential threat, to an attempted murderer. He now has a reason to get aggressive with the big-wig.

I swear to God, when I get his hands on him...he'll be the one screaming... Jon thinks to himself with an angry grimace on his face.

Jon pulls away Garren as he dive rolls from under the chandelier, and a second later the rest of the bunch had scurried off as well. and not a moment too soon, for with a thunderous crash loud enough to make one deaf and with razor sharp glass flying all over the place, the chandelier comes crashing down.
Luckily nobody got hurt. unluckily though, now the entire entrance hall got littered with sharp pieces of glass!

Garian groaned and stood up, "I can't believe I froze there." He sighed and looked at Jon, "Thanks man." He said and smiled lightly he then looked around and then at the group, "Well, I say we map out the top floor." He said. "We have the map to the bottom floor, so that'll be easy. We should do what is hard first and get it over with."

"Everyone all right? Please be careful of the glass I don`t want anyone cutting themselves!" He shouts the warning from the hallway as he stands up, glass crunching under his shoes as he makes his way back over to the map and attempts to pry it out from under the glass.

Duo was still holding onto the railing looking at the pile of glass everywhere "yeah im fine" he panted out now checking for wounds

Claire pulls her hands away from the back of her head. She stands up and the glass on her falls off. She looks at her hands and they're scratched up. Claire groans in pain. "I'm surrounded by glass." she says to the rest of the group.
(I dunno why, just wanted to get hurt XD)

Dax walks over to Claire and helps her up onto his back and cariies her back to the relatively glass free hallway and puts her back on her feet,"You okkay miss?" He asks her concerned.

the map is pretty tightly locked behind the glass cover, and without any tools it'll be hard to screw it loose. perhaps you can somehow break the glass, without damaging the paper behind it?

Duo studied the map. then the case it was in trying to figure out how to open the glass cover. Not caring too much about his own health at the moment, he then balled his right hand into a fist and slammed it on the glass cover trying to break it

Claire smiles. "Thanks, I'm fine." she says before walking around. She sighs. "So what's the plan now?" Claire asks.

(Dnd, think. If you punch the glass, it will shatter and damage the map...)

"Not a problem Miss. Glad your okkay." He says with a smile as he walks back towards the map cover,"Does anyone perhaps have something we can use as a makeshift screwdiver? A key or anything like tht?"

Garian thought about what he said and shook his head, "Unfortunately, I don't." He said regretfully, and shrugged, "Anyone else know how? Or should we just keep it in the case?"
