[Edited - I misread taria's post. The Mining Rig is built on board using schematics >.<]

Alexia let out a long sigh at the barrage of questions that the newest member to the congregation blurted out. She ran the elongated index finger of her right hand through her red hair before standing up from her chair.

"So much for introductions, shyest bunch of miners you are." she says with another sigh.

She circled the full length of the room once again looking at everyone, measuring them up and down the full height of their bodies, before once again coming full circle to her chair. With an outreached hand, the projectors came whirling back into life, the sounds of the fans whining in protest once more. The room begun to dim, giving it the amber glow it had previously, the ambiance of the room settling.

She keyed figured into her wrist band, the unseen puppet master animating the table by her own will as opposed to the automated message. A small blue sphere came into focus, around it in regular orbits three small moons.

"This little blue ball, is where we are at, a planet 90% occupied by water." She said with a commanding tone. "It will be our home for the next few months, so better hope it is the tropical paradise we signed on for" she chuckled a bit.

Once more she moved her elongated fingers, the twirling planet slowly fading into a small dot admits thousands of small heavenly bodies, adrift in the shattered belt.

"This is the subsection we are at, closest human settlement approximately 9 months, to answer your first question". She allowed the map to spin a few more cycles, highlighting the limits of the outer reach with red glowing lines. Slowly the field began to fade to black, before being replaced with the 3d schematics of the ship they were on.

"This is our ship, a standard 3M command rig. As you can see it is pretty durable construction, with utility and efficiency over beauty in design." she said once more, they should have remembered their basic briefing. It wasn't a very pretty ship, nothing more than a long rectangular prism.

"Within our ships are only the few cryogenic pods that we had occupied, loaded on by security guards at our port of call, hope's colony". She let it all sink in, it was a lot of information to take in. "Our mining rig will be built on board. We have the schematics uploaded to all the working rooms interfaces, and will easily be constructed."

A small rig rotated on screen. She allowed the information to sink in more.

"We start the operation once our ship is prepared, supplies checked, and the mining rig constructed. To do this we will need to deploy our scouting team."

She let the image continue to rotate, the amber glow giving her a commanding appearance in her room.

"Now that this is over, how about further introductions? Any more volunteers?"

The lack of willing participants only irritated her, but it was best to remain calm, or else shatter her first impression on them.

Sarah didn't see fit to break the awkward silence that hung over the room following Ty's... informative elaboration on himself. She could now claim to personally know (as a work friend) a human who embraced an ethnic stereotype more accurately than what she would find on a random internet forum. She rubbed her shoulder, feeling like a schoolgirl with stage fright. Most of the crew apparently shared her reclusiveness, and for that she was thankful.

Well, more or less because it prompted Alexia to skip ahead to a more relevant topic. The holograph of their station was pleasing to Sarah's eyes, which were trained to treat sights like those as pure eye candy. Gizmos were her thing! The sudden renewal of interest in her job was enough to distract her from the knowledge that she was nearly a year from any more humans. Any more humans that weren't also effectively stranded on a watery blue orb floating in the middle of fuck-knows-where.

"Uh, maybe we can start on... working?" she suggested lightly. "There's a lot of subsystems I need to run some checklists on... might blow up the ship if I don't." she added.

"Why the fuck not, what do i need to do? Hike to three locations and set up the locators is basically all i have to do, right?" he said with a slight annoyance... sorry, he sounds very annoyed, my bad.

"It's not like I was trained for this or type of work or something... oh wait i wasn't." Zardon keeps bitching but it's now mumbling in a Chinese, German, hybrid.

"If you all want to push yourselves and get cryo-sickness, it is not fine with me."

She shrugged her arms annoyed at the crew. <<10 years of veteran speaking here, almost double the experience of all members assembled combined>> she thought to herself. <<I enjoy the enthusiasm, but at what cost? They will all be showing signs of cryo-sickness sooner or later, and to burden the doctors so early into the journey without them being familiarized with their facilities is a recipe for disaster.>>

"You orders are simple, familiarize yourself with your work spaces, get to know one another, listen to the pre-recorded statements. After that you are to do as you wish, however tomorrow I will be rousing you for work. If you do not provide then, there will be hell to pay, and deductions handed out to your pay stubs."

She turned to face Sarah.

"Sarah, you came with high recommendations. Make sure the systems are in order. As for blowing up the ship, I am rather fond of it so see to it that you do not destroy my first command. You are not to start building the rig until at least 48 hours of time has gone by. Need to make sure you don't suddenly come down with cryo-sickness, are we clear?"

She turned to the face Zardon not even waiting for a reply from Sarah.

"No of course not. Unless my data files on you are completely wrong you were picked up for design. So change your tone or you may find you get all the shitty assignments. Now clear out, if you do not bring respect to the command room, you may as well not be welcomed. Clear?"

She finally turned to Claire, the meekest of the bunch.

"You are the mechanic girl... Claire if I remember correctly. I recommend you go to the workstation, and get to know the other mechanics as well as all the machinery. That was my old job around here, so become one with your environment before things start breaking down."

"Since there is to be no introductions, you are all dismissed. If you feel like you need to ask permission to do something, don't do it until 48 hours from now at the earliest. Clear out"

She turned on her heel and headed back to the center of the room, pulling up the various read outs on the 3d projector. With one frigid hand she rubs her temples, the annoyances of the crew already apparent. It will take all of her will power to shape them into anything more coherent.

(*Has been un-deleted*)

Slowly Doc awakens, his vision blurry from the long sleep as he begins to open his eyes. A hand moves instinctively to his mouth to stifle a yawn, blinking a few times to clear the mistiness from his eyes, then slowly taking his hand from his mouth he stretches his fingers this way and that, regaining the feeling in them as he looks around, Doc notices the mining technology around him and smiles appreciatively at what they gave for the job, looking about he assumes he is in the right place and notes other pods with frosted windows. He didn't bother looking if there were any others to help in the mining, all he needed was the right equipment. Taking a small breath Doc begins gathering a few devices from the area clipping them and a high tech pickaxe to the side of a specially made belt. Doc moves to a small box along the wall, tapping it gently with one of his digits. Seeing if he can get any information on what he need's to be doing. The instruction from before he was frozen was blurred. He knew why he was here. But not what he had to do precisely, where was he to go?

Not a moment went by before he was immediately pulled and shoved along with some other members on the same course as he, by a woman. Still feeling a bit out of it from the cryo as she speaks to the person in charge as they enter the room, the other crew already present.

"All present and accounted for, M'am."
Then the leader begins to be bombarded by many questions.
Listening intently and not saying a word he watches the annoyances splay across her entire body, seemingly picking up any signs as the crew either seemed to be not of her liking or was not as experienced as she would have hoped. Either way Doc felt the need not to speak for now and maybe catch up on anything he might have missed out on at a later date. The fogginess from his mind soon lifted after the one in charge went back to the center of the room. It was evident to him that she felt a bit overwhelmed by the way things were going.

Slowly he stepped forward, but before everyone left. Beginning slowly at first trying to find his voice: "Without permission to speak, and I apologize for the late reply for the cryo was still thick on my thoughts." He start's off with a slight bow of apology for not speaking up sooner and for the interruption in the possible contemplations. "My name is Doc, Doc Frawd. I am an expert with mining and have a really affinity for being able to find the good veins. It is a pleasure to work with you all and I hope that in time we can all work together efficiently. Doc gives everyone a smile and backs to his position.

This was Emily's first time in cryo sleep as she awakened her head spun "Oh fok" she moaned her liverpool colloquialisms not pushed down like they normally were. "My head feels broken, like" she moaned as she was picked up and pushed towards the main room. Each time someone stopped talking she tried to introduce herself but she was so out of it that she would just almost trample someone's sentence. "Oh for crissakes" she ejected holding her head as they were dismissed. She walked up to the main desk and looked at Alexia tentatively stretching out a hand. "I'm Emily, Ma'am. I.." she didn't finish her sentence, she threw up in front of the supervisors desk instead.

Alexia once more spun on her heel, only to be met by the brown scalp of a small lanky man. An avid fan of literature, she thought of him a dwarf, beard and all. From her purple eyes she gave him a quick glance up and down, measuring the man for all he was worth. He didn't have any major defining features beyond a slight warmth in his smile.

"Doc Frawd, ah yes our prospector. Looked over your records, no real outstanding merits on your resume, but a solid work record thus far. You seem to be professional as well in work attitude, so we should get along just fine."

Alexia leaned back up against the projection table in the middle of the room.

"I noticed you were late to the CCC. Not much to say, mostly uneventful to say the least. The big CEO himself congratulated us on being the furthest people from Earth, makes you kind of home-sick already, assuming you were an Earther. Other than that, I recommend getting to know your work space, following the basic tutorials of the place, and learning the lay out of the ship."

She thumbed more in her wrist mounted components, the table once more humming to life. The outlines of a purple crystal began to materialize, matching the shade of her own.

"Questhicyte. The reason we are all the way out in the middle of no where. A crystalline structure that is used for everything. Construction, energy, and even for jewelry. This very ship runs on it. We only have enough for a few days at max if the ship runs full power, in which case we are dead in the water, or so the proverb goes. You will need to find us pay dirt, to ensure that we can continue to operate all our materials, continue to construct our equipment, and of course run life-support on this rig."

The glow of the purple crystal was alluring, and her hand outstretch to it, cupping underneath it as if holding it for the world to see. She thumbed the display back to all the read outs.

"Now if you excuse me, I got to make sure everything is in check. Be sure you are ready to dig at a moments notice, and make sure you are ready to do so in no longer than 12 hours."

She returned to the display. The first thing to check is the atmosphere of the new planet, to determine the amount of energy the ship would be consuming. Already the cryo-sickness was beginning to get to her, the sweat beading upon her brow. At least she wasn't the only one sick, as the last one in the room came up to greet her, uneasiness in her face.

Her name was Emily, or so she was about to say before vomiting all over the side of the holo-table, and much to Alexia's dismay, onto her shoes.

"Well as far as introductions go, you could say you left an impression on me, and my boot." She says unamused. She leaned down to the vomiting girl, grabbing her long fiery red hair and holding it to the side as she continued to wretch all over. Upon finishing her business, Alexia slowly put her hair in place, producing an unused grease rag from one of her many pockets. She began to wipe away at the girls mouth.

"It was bound to happen to someone sooner or later." she sighed. "At leas I am not the only one that gets cryo-sickness, next jump we can be cryo-buddies and you hold my hair while I proceed to vomit all over your work space." She smiled lightly. She wrapped one of her arms below the girl and hoisted her up. "It might be best if we head towards the sick bay."

She regarded him with a look over then got to business.

"Doc Frawd, ah yes our prospector. Looked over your records, no real outstanding merits on your resume, but a solid work record thus far. You seem to be professional as well in work attitude, so we should get along just fine."

He nods, as she then seemed to relax against the projection table centered in the room.

He almost laughed but kept a warm smile, "Earther" He thought to himself, yes that would be a big assumption indeed. He didn't really care, there was nothing left for him anymore..
His thoughts trailed off as he came back to reality watching her, the table began to hum as little glittering purples took shape into a crystal.

With a gentle hand she reached out to the enchanting glow, "cupping" under the image, giving him the impression as if she was indeed trying to hold it. She then clicked the display back to the read outs.

"Now if you excuse me, I got to make sure everything is in check. Be sure you are ready to dig at a moments notice, and make sure you are ready to do so in no longer than 12 hours."

She then moved back towards it, checking things, it seemed like she was beginning to ware though.

"Of course, I will go now. I will be ready in half that time if I am needed before then Ma'am" Bowing once again even though she could not see and then giving a wave to the others in the room he promptly takes his leave."Things were going alright so far, Doc thought to himself as he left the room glancing behind him to see another woman that was apparently ill from the cryo, puke. Looking down the hall he sighed, wishing he could help but remembering he was the key to the mission basically, if he didn't get the Questhicyte then what would power the ship? Giving the superior a hopeful and apologetic last look he moved down and out of sight.

"Thank you.." she said quietly "and i'm sorry...I-ill clean them if you want" she found herself resting her head on the woman's shoulder as she was helped to walk "It's my first time." Her eyes moved up to Alexia, at times it really was nice to be short. Emily sighed at how much of a fool she had made of herself. What a fantastic introduction she thought to herself. "Im Emily" she repeated as if this would somehow make up for the fact the last time she had said it she had followed it up with the contents of her stomach.

The younger woman slumped into her arms, as if the all the weight of the world was lifted of her shoulders. She was impossibly light, almost half the weight of herself she figured by any quick calculations. From her taller vantage point she could look down the length of her body, admiring the fiery red hair she had, the brightness in stark contrast to her more muted auburn hair.

"Thank you.." she said quietly "and i'm sorry...I-ill clean them if you want" she said weakly, unable to stand much on her own.

"Don't worry about it dear. You are unable to walk much on your own, let alone clean" She said to knowingly, with a small wink in her eye. She opened the door with a wave of the hand, heading down the drab-gray corridors of the ship. She instinctively traced their path along the middle of the ship, heading towards the sick bay.

"It's my first time" she said with a rather muted blush creeping up across her face.

"It could be much worse. My first time I passed out working with crystal, electrocuting my boss and I." She said with a smile "We all start somewhere, some with better first impressions than others. What matters is what you make of the res of the journey."

Alexia pushed the door opening, hobbling along side of one of the gurneys with her charge.

Emily smiled a warm smile that illuminated her features making her look glowy, her light freckles stood out and she suddenly looked quiet angelic. Her accent was still fairly strong but she was able to push down the general grammar abuse of her home dialect. “Well I haven’t ever been of earth before…I did some work with the ships in the docks and learnt a bit about rigs but when I saw the poster I couldn’t not sign up.” She started to walk a little more on her own, but not enough to not need support. The little redhead looked around as she walked. “I tried to introduce myself when you asked but everyone was talking and I couldn’t get a word in edgeways, like.” She sighed. Another affectionate nuzzle to the taller woman occurred as she shifted her position. The supervisor really was pretty.

The young lady smiled up to her, her eyes beaming with a token of appreciation. The warmth radiated away from her eyes, to the freckles on her cheeks, to the tip of her nose, color returning once more to her face. She looked recovered, in spirit if not body to say the least. She pursed her lips, before speaking once more along the length of the trip.

"Well I haven’t ever been of earth before…I did some work with the ships in the docks and learnt a bit about rigs but when I saw the poster I couldn’t not sign up.” her accent was strong, much like the french-man Alexia had the pleasure of meeting, however it was much more coarser around the edges. It was hard to place for her.

Emily begun to walk more and more on her own, the strength returning to the much disused limbs. As the girl's strength returned she begun to open up a bit more.

"I tried to introduce myself when you asked but everyone was talking and I couldn’t get a word in edgeways, like.” She punctuated the line by nuzzling further into the pit of her arm, the warmth of her body transferring into Alexia's otherwise frigid body. Alas the journey had come to an end, passing by one of the locked down gurneys on the outer wall of the medical facility.

Using her free arm, Alexia once more pushed the door open, before walking into the facility. On four sides they were surrounded by the cramp quarters of the medical bay, the walls packed with the various shelves and diagnostic devices. The quarters were rather spartan, and the supplies limited if not broad. Along one of the walls rested additional gurneys, but these locked to the ground.

Alexia brought the girl over to the edge of one of the tables, before helping her lie down. Emily being firmly in place she moved to sit at her feet upon the imitation leather of the gurney. She crossed her feet and looked at her junior, before wrinkling her brow in thought once more.

"I know the feeling, not being able to get a word in side-ways. Used to be much the same back on my first detail." she smiled at the distant memory now, having more respect for the old foreman after being in his boots for but one day. "I am Alexia, pleasure to make your acquaintance, no mater how unsettling it may have been for both of us." As she says this she rests her hand upon Emily's knee, rubbing it for but a few seconds.

"Either way, it's best if we let Ty check you out, just to make sure it's the routine cryo-sickness setting in." she said with a smile. She went back to fidgeting on her arm band, the inlaid mechanisms reacting to her every touch. She needed to diagnose the atmosphere of the planet, and to diagnose whether it was hazardous or not to the crew. Depending on the results, she may very well have to speed up the leisurely pace planned.

Emily smiled again sliding her hand down to rest on her supervisors. Her girlish features twisted into a sort of hybrid between a blush a smile and a giggle. "Alexia.." she started hoping that she was using the correct term, she didn't feel that she should call her Miss or Ma'am. She had not ever received this kind of physical Empathy, not from her father and she had never met her mother. Was this motherly..whatever the feelings..she liked them "Do you have an open door policy? I just feel like I don't know anyone yet and ..." she trailed off a little embarrassed

A bit slow, Kazumi slumps out the room as he realizes that he doesn't have permission to leave for 2 days at the earliest. Meaning those walls won't let him through for 2 days. He gives a small sigh. "At the very least I can explore the area within the walls." he mutters to himself as he heads in a random direction.

Zardon left for human resources. once there, he opened up his workstation.
He started opening up everyone's file, and going over every member with a fine tooth comb.
He grabbed one of his cigarette boxes and slowly tapped it against his hand.

Sarah gingerly brushed a strand of blonde hair from her face, arms crossed tentatively beneath her chest. She avoided the supervisor's gaze somewhat, doting on some facet of the glowing computer terminals that flanked her, and feeling somewhat humbled by Alexia's words. High recommendations... she thought. It was sort of motivating to be valued, but she didn't stick around to get acquainted with her contemporaries.

"Okay." she sheepishly acknowledged Alexia's orders. Now that she let it process in her head, it was somewhat relieving not to have to dive into the thick of their work so immediately if it stopped a severe malady from setting in. Sarah hated sickness; it was stupid, debilitating and flat out annoying.

She had left to return to her workplace just as another woman had walked in. She had navigated her way back to the engine room to the backdrop of what sounded like someone puking. She felt so awkward. But she could get to know the others later, right? They'd probably be hanging around their assigned stations. Engineers in the engine room, doctors in the medical bay... and probably everyone else getting high with the drugs she was well aware were aboard.

She entered the engine room, feeling much more comfortable all of a sudden, and went to the first computer terminal she saw to run the aforementioned checklist over the ship's electrical power subsystems, life support, and engine status.
