Crystal Hearts Part 4

Misc: As you chant, an incorporeal greatsword bursts forth from your holy symbol, before it struck right down into the armoured lizardfolk's shoulder. Another shout of pain escapes the man, his posture seeming to slump a bit under the weight of his armour. All the damage he was taking seemed to be stacking up. (-6 HP)

Lizardfolk #2 charges at Alena (F5), giving a savage warcry and stabbing at her. Its blade is easily reflected off of her armour, however.

Lizardfolk #6 utters a dark incantation as it rushes into melee towards Alena (F6), one of its clawed hands wreathed in negative energy. As soon as the man touches her, pain wracks her body- she could instantly identify that it had cast Inflict Critical Wounds! (-20 HP)

Lene steps in to the brawl, immediately bringing her bastard sword down upon Lizardfolk #6. A sickening slice and a thud was heard as its head was immediately severed by the skilled swordswoman. (CRIT! -54 HP!)

Shadow Kon gives an almost adorable roar- meaning not adorable at all, considering how angry she was. These red-scaled people reminded her of that dragon, and that dragon took Kath! Ergo, these people took Kath too! With two quick, powerful strokes of her greataxe, Lizardfolk #2 fell, a savage look on her face. (-34 HP total)

Sasha smirks as she see's the new improved team taking on these lizard beings and doing a fine job. "Keep up the good work~! time to test my new bow!" she would say giddily, notching one of the magical arrows and firing it at lizardfolk #5

[TCELESBHSUP]

Moko: You strike Lizardfolk #5 square in the chest with an arrow and he shivers, a hiss of pain escaping the archer. He takes the time to pull the arrow out of his chest, looking it over. (-12 HP)

Shadow Caryn plays a tune! The party feels plenty encouraged by the rousing song. +1 to weapon attack and damage, as well as +1 on saving throws against fear and charm.

Lyris, in the excitement of the battle... Faints. The combination of the heat, the darkness in the cave, and the sudden appearance of these lizardfolk as well as their gory demises? It was too much for the young noblewoman! (Alaena is withdrawing from the campaign.)

Lizardfolk #5 draws an arrow from his quiver, nocking it and aiming at Alena. He seemed to take his time with aiming, even after having been shot, before drawing the string powerfully and letting loose a fierce shot! And what an impact that followed! It seemed that he'd found a chink in the lamia's armour and struck a rather nasty spot, doing significant damage with just a regular arrow. (CRIT! -15 HP!)

Lizardfolk #1 finally sprung into action with a roar, charging blindly- right into Alena's blade. As he lifted his arms to bring his axe downwards, the lamia gave a quick and decisive swing despite the pain she was in, cutting the berserker's torso clean open. His axe dropped and he clutched at his torso, falling heavily to the ground. (Attack of Opportunity: CRIT! -30 HP!)

Marisa practically choked on vile liquid she was drinking when the lizards began approaching, not only were they going to be taking on a dragon but now they were facing lizardmen as well? what else could this volcano possibly have inside it? Marisa was positive she didn't want to find out as she began casting her classic combo of Bane+Bless spells hoping to be rid of things vile...things as quickly as possible.

Sanaki: You cast your spells and they seem to set in perfectly fine. Well... The Bless did, at least. For some reason or another, the lizardfolk didn't seem at all affected by your Bane spell.

Lizardfolk #3 steps in between the two archers behind him and the party, readying his shield and spear. It seemed that he was ready to meet anyone that approached head-on, should they try to attack the men behind him.

[Meep Meepersons]

Azmerelda waves her hands and mumbles a spell under her breath. As she finishes, she points her dagger at the Lizardfolk [#3] readying his spear and cast dominate person on him. DC 28 will save. Assuming he falls victim to the spell, Azmer would order him to turn and attack those behind him not of her group telepathically.

[TCELESBHSUP]

Lizardfolk #3 lurches as Azmerelda's spell takes hold, yet his eyes still seem to hold defiance. He slowly begins to turn, though doesn't strike yet.

Lizardfolk #4 withdraws, running straight down the hall behind it, yelling as though to cause alarm to its brethren further into the volcano. This may cause problems...

Drak walked forward and decided to cast flaming sphere at the retreating lizard folk. Sabor charged and pounced the closest lizard folk

Drakonius... Walks forward. About five feet. From K4 to J4. Then he casts his Flaming Sphere, which drops to the ground and begins to roll off in the direction of the fleeing lizardfolk. Right into Kon. Luckily, she dodges it, but she doesn't look particularly happy with a ball of fire having nearly run her over. Sabor pounces on top of the corpse of Lizardfolk #2, being the 'closest lizardfolk'. Never specified live or dead and all. This is why you be specific about your damn moves, people.

Ol'gerr moves closer into the fight, nocking another arrow and firing it at #5. The archer manages to dodge, luckily, ducking under the arrow. He looked ready to run as well.

Camilla runs up behind Kon [H4]and fires an eldrich blast at Lizardfolk #5.

Camilla's Eldritch Blast strikes the lizardfolk true, the archer dropping his bow from all the pain. He clutches at his chest, dropping to his knees as the blast seems to seep inside of him... And then explode outwards, showering blood and gore over his 'companion'- regardless of Azmerelda's mental domination, he looks panicked at this, staring right at the caster as though she were a demon. His spear drops from his hand and he drops to his knees, hands coming together as he begged for mercy.

Alena sighs at the sight of the lizardfolk pleading for his life. Two separate thoughts rage within her, the first being that, if at all possible, she doesn't want to kill someone who has given up. Destroying someone who is without fighting spirit is just slaughter and despite the 280 years she spent fighting, she never once killed someone who was broken. Of course, her years of fighting brings her to the second point: That the lizard might be faking it. She's had people start pleading for their life then immediately turn around and try to cut her down before. So she compromises.

Moving to the lizard [D4-5, E4-5], she holds him at sword point, making sure her tail lies on top of the dropped spear just in case the creature gets any ideas. "If at all possible, I would like to keep you alive. That, however, depends on how useful you can make yourself to me." She says, steel in her voice. "As we have proven we can easily defeat you and your ilk, your usefulness devolves entirely into information. You tell me what I wish to know and I don't kill you out of hand. Now, there was a woman brought into this cave sometime recently. Where is she being held?"

[Lynxy]

Camilla exposes a malevolent grin as she steps past Kon and approaches the groveling lizard [D3]. The residual magical energy on her hand was still slowly dissipating during her approach, adding it's glow to that of her recently charged piercings and the waning light behind her eyes. All of this added to the impression the lizardman was already forming that she might just be something more horrible than human. "Go on, answer. Or, I can find all sorts of ways to decorate this cavern with your useless corpse."

Caryn smiled at how the battle seemed to be going. There was only two left, as one was fleeing. He decided to make things a little amusing, and casted Hideous Laughter upon the closest Lizardfolk, and then if he could he would finally join the mettle, moving in to support any of his allies already engaged in combat.

[TCELESBHSUP]

Seeing as combat was over... The lizardfolk lifted his head, glaring up at Alena and Camilla. He looked quite displeased with his situation- then, a smile broke across his face and he began to laugh. Maniacally, almost. He clutched at his sides, laughing hysterically and uncontrollably. Bloody bards!

[MiscChaos]

Alena growls as the bard's idiotic spell after everything was already said and done causes the lizardfolk to fall into an uncontrollable fit of laughter. Perfect, now the thing is useless as an information source until the bloody laughing dies down. "Sir bard, might I suggest reading the flow of battle before recklessly throwing out spells next time?" She says, her voice a mix between forced politeness and absolute venom. Because of this stupid move, now they must waste further time. She almost wants to kill the minstrel for his stupidity, just so when it comes to the dragon he doesn't do anything ELSE to hamper their progress. Growling again in annoyance, she begins killing time, casting a Cure Serious Wounds upon herself to get rid of the worst of the previous battle before casting a Zone of Truth over the Lizardfolk so that when it finally does stop laughing it cannot lie to her. It can try to refuse answering the question, but that will quickly end badly for it.Thinking it might attempt to escape the Zone of Truth, she begins constricting it with her tail so that its arms are pinned to its sides, being none to gentle while she's at it.

Azmer approached the laughing lizardman and waved her hand as if to dismiss some servant, and the laughing lizardman was laughing no more. "I'll do one better Camilla." She looked at the Lizman as he catches his breath. "Take us to said kidnapped woman. If you do not know where she is, take us to where you are not allowed." Given the way he looks and his lack of courage, she assumed he wasn't much within these ranks. He looked more of hired muscle the a devote cultist follower of a dragon. However, the presence of more then red dragons confirmed her suspicions of experimentation or rituals of some kind. Red dragons don't usually capture women alive, much less women who can generally defend themselves. "And be snappy about it, or I'll have my friend her paint the walls with your insides after I make them your outsides!" She snapped, putting her cruel looking dagger close to his face, just between his eyes so he could see how vicious the small knife looked. Being cut by that would leave a nasty bleeding wound that wouldn't close easily.

When the fireball almost hit Kon, she managed to dodge it, but barely. She shivered a bit from the fire and brushed aside a brief flashback to their previous encounter with dragons. She then turned to Drak and Growled at him. Her look said more then her limited vocabulary. She gave a "Try that again I'll split you in half!" kind of look at him.

The lizardfolk nodded dumbly as Azmerelda gave her orders, struggling to escape the lamia's coils- with no real success. It got more and more violent as it was held, snarling at Alena, very much displeased with the fact that it was unable to follow its orders. It even chomped at her tail- with no real damage, thanks to her incredibly tough scales. As soon as it was free, it would retrieve its spear if possible and lead the way down the corridor. The one lizardfolk that had fled could still be heard, shouting its alarms. In no way was stealth on the party's side any longer.

Alena looks annoyed as the thing struggles to tear itself out of her grip so it can follow Azmerelda's order. "You could have just asked." She says, releasing her grip on the lizardfolk and immediately grabbing its spear instead. She didn't live this long by being stupid and she's under no idea that the thing is faithful to them. The instant it runs into its comrades, it will turn on them and Alena would rather it didn't have a weapon when it does. With the thing well and truly disarmed, she encourages it to continue with its orders. By putting the tip of her Great Sword at its chest and growling, "Move it."

Sasha would smile as she notches one of her regular arrows in preparation for any other encounter. She was happy about that encounter, her arrows actually did damage this time! awesome! she loved her new bow just for that, glad about the whole ordeal, she would glance around the party before deciding to follow close to alena, watching their lizardfolk captive.
