"Oh boy." Ty thinks. Not only does the majority of the crowd not know Officer Kairus, the one who does looks like him. He can only continue on at this point though. "He laid his life down for me and my sister. He took out as many beasts as possible before he blew himself and the front of the mall to pieces, all just to give me and the civilians in the mall time to escape.
And he was successful. Me and my sister were among the last ones out and we ran into none of them on our way to the EVAC Station. Are you trying to tell me that I should pretend this didn't happen? That I should allow you to deny what you should've already seen?! I refuse to dishonor his memory like that! People, this is war! They've already thrown the first punch and knocked us the fuck out of the first round. But you there will be a second. Whether you live or die might just depend on your willingness to believe that." He doesn't even notice the tears streaming down his face or the fact that he's damn near yelling at them. He just needs to be heard, to convince these people not to sully Officer Kairus' memory by blinding themselves to the truth.

The Chinook would settle next to another helicopter.. Eventually opening it's doors for it's passengers to walk out.. Alicia being the first to take a step out and then proceeded into the base, apparently yawning and waving some soldiers away..

Most of the civilians simply left and seemed grim with the looks on their faces.. But only the young girl remained with tears going down her cheeks as well.. Rushing forward to hug Ty and cry on his right shoulder..

Ty somewhat saw this coming, so he isn't surprised when it happens. All he does is stroke her hair and cry with her. About all he can do right now.

Reaper got off the chinook, and then went outside Alicia's room. And waited, trying not to smirk.

Adrianna didn't bother to respond to Hawk's comment, which she had heard quite plainly as she wasn't going to let him get away that easily.

"Let's get a move on." she suggested, pursuing after him.

The girl kept crying on his shoulder.. Hugging him tightly as it seemed she is definitely Kairus's daughter or could be his sister..

ALPHA BASE ~ Outside Alicia's Quarters

Reaper would have seen Alicia pass by in a nearby hallway, seemingly appearing busy before she'd show up; looking pretty much exhausted and glanced at Reaper..

''What?'' Alicia stated before the scanner on the side recognized her thumbprint and the door slid to the side. She walked inside with a tired frown.

Hawk tried to pretend as if nothing had happened. ''Sorry, a what?'' He asked, turning to the right and apparently headed towards an elevator.

The door slid close after Reaper headed inside.. And Alicia was inside her bathroom, washing her face before getting a towel and drying herself off..

''So you need me to lay down then, Daithi? My back feels as if a building had collapsed on it..'' Alicia said while placing the towel back in the bathroom.

Well, at this point things started feeling awkward, but there was no way he was going to just pull away. This is a piece of Officer Kairus' family after all. It'd feel like he was slapping Kairus in the face or something.

Adrianna rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, whatever..." she said offhandedly, following him into the elevator.

The young girl was sniffing loudly as she looked up at Ty, frowning and hugging him a bit tightly. ''D-Did you r-really.. M-Meet my older b-brother?''

Hawk entered the elevator, pressing a few commands before the crystal door shut close and they were headed to the upper levels. He was leaning against the side, apparently trying to avoid any talk for now as he eyed Adrianna's hair.

"Yes, I did." Ty answers, sounding somber and just a bit hollow. "He came in already injured, so I patched him up a bit and tried to hold the line with him. Since he refused that, I tried to drag him with us, but he just kept on insisting he'd hold the line an let us escape. I...I should've tried harder. I should've dragged his ass if necessary."

"Yeah. Heh, I almost did have a building fall on me." Reaper said jokingly.

Jon's own pulse accelerates as he sees Kath's vitals shoot up, but when the doctor rushes in and fixes things, he slowly calms back down. "O-okay...I'll keep watch..." The notation of her wounds troubles him a bit, but the fact that they'll heal with time relieves his troubled mind once again.

"Th-thank you, doctor...I'm glad that she'll survive, at least. To be fair, I put myself in harms way, just so she could get to safety...and yet, she's the one with the scars..." Jon's heart grows heavy with that realization, feeling a mixture of anger, sorrow, and guilt. Anger at what caused the injury, sorrow over the suffering Kath is enduring, and guilt about how he failed to prevent her from being hurt...the fact that she'll live does soften the blow a bit, but it still hurts...

Adrianna leaned lazily against the side of the elevator with her arms crossed as she waited patiently for it to reach its destination.

The young girl broke into tears again, pressing her face against Ty's shoulder again.. It seemed that she was too young to take in the death of her brother.. It possibly felt as if she had seen her whole family die..

Alicia laid down on the amazingly small bed, just perfect for her size but not to small for her to fall of by accident..

''Don't even mention it.. I was thrown away like some kind of balloon..'' Alicia muttered disappointingly.

Kaythleen groaned quietly as she moved around in the bed a bit.. Her head motioned towards Jon but she was asleep..

''Just take it easy, you've got one of a tough girl with you right there.'' The doctor said before checking Kaythleen's vitals one last time and walking away.

Hawk coughed and walked out of the elevator once it's double doors slid open, apparently there was a lunch room and an armory on the current floor; as well as quarters for the members of PALADIN.

''Hey, you're coming Adrianna? Or do I have to carry you all the way to the armory?'' He said with a chuckle and smiled.

Now Ty starts feeling guilty again. 'The damn dude was injured. I could've dragged his ass! Why did I allow him to leave his sister alone!?!' Because put in the same situation, he's unsure he could sacrifice himself like Kairus if it meant leaving Blanc by her lonesome. Thinking of Blanc, Ty says, "We should find somewhere to sit.". Maybe interacting with Blanc would help Kairus' little sister's name. Speaking of, "You got a... what's your name?" He cancels his first sentence out since that's the same exact thing he asked Kairus.
