Alexsis begins to shoot the orks with the other guardsmen sighing at the back and forth with the commissar "i wonder whos going to be shot first" she mutters to herself

Corvus looked at the greenskins. They were one of the hated enemies of man. One of the many trying to bring the downfall of the İmperium. And here he was. Shooting at the green tide. Trying to preserve some dying empire ruled by blind men. İn truth Corvus didnt care about the imperium. He didnt care about beuracracy. He didnt care about the nobles swimming in luxury or the pitifull citizens who just accepted it as a whim of life and continued their life in misery. He was doing this for the only brother he have. Corvus promised to him that he will guard the İmperium which his brother fought so hard to protect. And he know too there were still humans who had fighting spirit in them. He had to do this for them too.

Corvus quickly ran along the trench. He knew his lasgun wouldnt do much against an ork. Especially an armored one. He knew that not much were expected of the cannon fodder. But he also knew that there were guardsmen around with specialised weapons. Shotguns, Snipers, Flamers. Anything would work. He looked around to see if he can loot any of those from a dead guardsmen. He knew that there wasnt time to go to armory and conscripts dont usually get them.

Kay gritted her teeth as the Orks charged forward, but were then thrown back by the artillery strikes. She let out a cheer as she saw greenskin bodies fly in all directions and, in her mind, their chances of survival had gone up. Bringing the stock of her lasgun to her shoulder, she carefully aimed down the sights and loosed off a couple of lasbolts at the mass of green bodies that were still moving. She didn't particularly care if she killed any, but a peppering of shots might make them fall back just a little bit faster
