[50/100 interacting with Nema at Hotsprings going to basecamp]
Her eyes once again hid below the angered valleys of her brow, the sparkle of her eyes long gone. She looked at him, almost seeing through him he thought, straight to his soul, judging whether he would ever be fit to dance on the clouds with the Kami, or suffer below in jigoku. "I don't understand you", she interjects with an abrupt folding of her arms across her chest. Her pose was hostile, before going on the attack "You've come here to take a spirit back home with you, but you talk like it would be one of the most frightening things in the world." She gestures harshly, pointing at him, before gesturing all around him, as if playing to a crowd. "Then you go and treat me like a child." She said, with venom in her voice.
Her wings raise ominously behind her back, raising and falling with the rhythm of her chest, temper flaring in time with the pounding of her heart. "I may be small by I am not some adolescent that needs protecting. I'm not afraid of the unknown; I know there's bad things out there, but they'll never stop me." She says defiantly. She couldn't bare look him in the face, he too turning his head from her gaze.
"Hmph" she turns her head, and avoids his stare completely. Standing there, the metal in his hand felt all the more heavy, his body aching from all the weight in the world on his shoulders. How does he react, did he give off such an unpleasant aura to be around? One minute they are talking about the joys of life, the potential bonding of man and spirit, as well as the adventures it would bring.
He slowly walks towards her, tossing his worthless stone aside towards his Kimono. He slowly brought his hand up, extending an index finger away from palm. He traced her the length of her cheek, before resting upon her chin. Slowly he turned her beautiful red eyes towards his. He whispers as gently as he can, "I never thought you weak, or small. Nor did I ever thought you would need my protection. You are more powerful, more adventurous than I ever will be. All those things we talked about in the village plaza, those are my fears, how I perceive this whole scenario."
He stopped, an intensity in his eyes yet unseen by all around him in this spirit world. "You tell of the importance of the tether, of a man stable enough to keep your world sane. Look at me, do I seem the kind of person to rely on over so powerful a thing?" He took a breath, the beating of his heart racing ever harder against his chest. He placed his hand on her chin, holding it up towards his. "You have been kind to me, told me of things of past of things yet to come, I am afraid that when the time comes I won't be as reliable a man to place your trust in. I work with materials, forming shapes from my mind, becoming a man who hunts monsters, who kills, scares me more than it ever should."
He leaned in closer, eye to eye with her. "What I do know is that your kindness has touched me, and that you mean something to me. If it was wrong to be intimate with you, then to jigoku I will go with a kiss." he leaned in, stealing a small peck on her lips. He let go of her chin, before turning around. With both arms as weak as dry bamboo, he pulled himself from the hot springs, to get dressed.
Fully clothed, metal in pocket he made his way back towards the base camp. "Thank you for returning my head pieces, they mean a lot to me." He gestured towards his hair once more. "Stay safe until we next meet, and hopefully I have become the man you and I both can put faith in." He waved a quick goodbye, walking with the weight on his shoulder. "Why the hell am I here? Why the hell become a monster hunter? Help people my ass, all I do is hurt those spirits around me."
