Jin nodded.
"It's good to be here." she agreed, trying to be modest. She had spotted numerous other magicians in the caravan's ranks, but most of them seemed amateurs at best. It concerned her, knowing that her powers would likely be in heavy demand and that there was such a shortage of arcane talent given the size of the caravan, but she kept tacit on that and climbed onto her cart, taking the reins again. The horses seemed calm as ever, although their ears swiveled furiously to listen in on the surrounding noise.
The Iievyr squinted her eyes as a silhouette caught her attention. A nearly disrobed woman atop a passing cliff had a lightning bolt of worry cutting through her, but it was gladdening to see others leap to her aid so quickly. Just as she had acclimated to her seat again, she leapt down.
"Sorry! I'll be back in a moment. Just need to check something out." she apologized to Zeph, knowing he'd rather host a conversation than see her run off again. Trusting him to keep her cart on track, she began to walk off for where the woman with the torn clothes had emerged, but as she jogged along, a cold feeling brought her to a halt.
Instinct was not to be ignored, and the tickling, unnatural feeling crawling up Jin's spine and into her mind, flooding it with negative ideas told her something was out of place. She narrowed her eyes suspiciously, looking around. What could it have been? Magic wafted on the air, and not from any arcane energies she was comfortable with. Then, she spotted the warrior from before. If she recalled, his name was... Ivan, or something along those lines? He had a brush with death from the shade not even twenty minutes ago, and while he remained standing, he was pale-faced and seemed off-center. For a man of his stature, that seemed very uncharacteristic unless he had been wounded in battle. But she saw no injuries on him.
I'm probably being too suspicious... she thought, crossing her arms to look at him, But there is something very wrong with him. she hummed to herself. The woman with the torn clothes seemed tended to, so she walked on forward, spotting one of the guards as well.
"Hi." she greeted, wiping a hand across her forehead as she walked up to him. Subconsciously, she knew it wouldn't do any good to ask if he was okay. Whatever had happened to him, it wasn't natural.
"You're..." she paused, looking for the right words. Drawing closer to him now, he simply reeked of arcane taints despite not being a mage, "Looking pale-faced." she said suspiciously.
