Mex leaned against a wall of the guard outpost as the familiar began recounting it's tale, telling them all about what had happened.. Apparently Captain Merah and the rest of the guards had run afoul of a band of Orcs and were of course outmatched. Orcs were famous for their brutality and prowess in battle.. The creature went on to utter the happenings of it's master's death, blah blah blah. Didn't know to know that, die already. Sort seemed to oblige Mex's mental thoughts, shoving a dagger of light up it's face and promptly ending it's babbling. Finally.
"Well, obviously we're going off on another misadventure, save the damsel in distress and all that.."
Mex said, her tone rather resigned. Of course they would be going off on a rescue mission... She glanced over to the guard as he pulled Sortaix to the side, trying to explain something to him in secrecy. Sort wasn't having any of it and got the guard to tell them what the hell was going on with this town. The guard, after some hesitation finally began to talk. The building under construction they had was a slave trading post..some bastard named Durach was building it..a real asshole, by the sound of it. Mex smiled maliciously. Slave trader. Not innocent in anyone's book. Fodder for Ravenous.
"Durach's mine. I'll make sure he dies. Painfully. In front of the entire town if you want, maybe?"
Mex shrugged at the last sentence. Would be fun to do that if it was agreeable. The guard had said that Durach would've tried to make her and Kaz into slaves. She snorted at the idea. Her, a slave? You serious? Heck, no way in hell that was ever happening. Just another reason to kill Durach with. And now, it seemed like there was going to be a lot of stuff that Sort and his team of Friendly, Definitely-Not-Complaining Helpers(excluding Mex) were going to have to help the town with. Mex sighed heavily as Sort listed out his orders, assigning Kaz to the demon hounds, the Orcs to herself and Dax to the bandits. Well..time to establish partners!
"Of course, I'm with Sort!"
Mex shifted beside Sort, hugging his arm and perhaps singeing a few hairs off. She grinned impishly up at him, mischievousness gleaming in her eyes that implied "Let's go play!".
Sleep unbeknownst to I, this one lives in perpetual need of coffee..
