Offering no resistance, Raleigh finishes off the stunned boar. The forest goes quiet after your declaration of victory. The rampaging beast finally goes still. Just as she about to return to the city, Raleigh here a weak voice speak up from behind her.

"A-Are you the one you slayed this monster?" Looking back, Raleigh sees the woman from before stand up. She still seemed dazed as she struggled to stand. "I was on my way to Schwarzberg when my wagon crashed and I...I" She started to stammer as she struggled to describe what happened.

Rebecca, Ertha

Ertha
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Ertha uses Soothing Balm (+15 HP)
Melody of Healing (+5 HP, +2 Stamina)

Bow Attack: Schwarzberg Knight
Accuracy: 14 + 10 - 10 = 14, Accuracy Roll: 14, Hit!
Damage: 3 + 10 - 11 = 2

Rebecca
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Melody of Healing (+5 HP, +2 Stamina)

Pistol Attack: Schwarzberg Knight
Accuracy: 14 + 23 - 10 = 27, Hit!
Damage: 5(2d3) + 23 - 11 = 17

The soothing melody from the horn still resonated with Ertha and Rebecca and it gave them the energy to continue. The two focus their efforts on the bestial Knight. Despite the wound to her arm, Ertha is able to pull back her bow and send an arrow flying towards the knight. It sticks into the knight's leg barely leaving a mark. Rebecca's shot is a bit more devastating as the shot pierces a small exposed section of the breastplate and strikes the chest. For a moment, It looks like the wild warrior has finally put down. But it stands, if purely by instinct.

Schwarzberg Knight:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Waver or Fight (Rebecca)

Schwarzberg Ranger:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Rifle Attack (Ertha)
Accuracy Roll: 12 + 17 - 18 = 11, Accuracy Roll: 12 Miss!

The bestial knight limps forward, taking on a more traditional stance. Being near death seems to have brought a bit of sense to the beast. Focused on Rebecca, his stance leaves the pistol wielding warrior only a few options. She could attempt to evade the coming onslaught (Feat of Speed, 1d6 Damage if you fail ), Defend herself with her own weapon (Feat of Endurance, 1d4 damage if you fail), or attempt to counter attack through his onslaught (Feat of Strength 1d8 damage if you fail).

Just as Ertha shows signs of running away, a stray shot lands in front of her. Turning around, she sees the ranger giving her a cocky smirk. "Can't have you ganging up on my partner now" he says as chatty as ever.

Alane and Keira

Perception Roll: (Feat of Skill, Level 4, 30 or greater to succeed)
Alane: 12 + 2 = 14
Keira: 15 + 4 (Skills) + 18 = 37

Just as Alane and Keira are getting antiquated with the underground hideout, Keira hears a faint ringing sound. It was almost like the hum of a hunting horn. It's then that she realizes that the thief and the solider have been gone for some time.

Minerva doesn't seem surprised when Alane reveals she's Relia's daughter. "Relia did mention she had a daughter. You're as cute as she described you. I don't know if you can reach her in your current ... state. But if there's anyone who can reach her it's you."

"I tried to escape the city once." Minerva tells Kiera with a look of shame. "For a year I was at the mercy of the Schwarzberg Militia. If you got through the gate, you must of lucked out and faced some of the weaker guards. Even if we get past the walls, there is something worst waiting above the forest." She says as she sits down with an exacerbated look. "Honestly, I'm just doing what ever I can to survive. I don't have the nerve to attempt another escape. Stopping this strange cult seems impossible with how much control they have over the city. At best I've been able to obstruct their operations. Wait, did you say that you were from the Royal Litchstadt Army?" She asks with a surprised look.

She seems to be lost in thought for a moment until Keira asks for a midwife. Minerva points to the woman reading the book. "Athena is the closest thing we have to a midwife. Though it's not like these monsters are born normally."

Rebecca grinned as she landed her second shot where she wanted it. While his armour was a little bit worse the ware it would still do... if the Ranger's came out of this even worse.

Holstering the spent pistol, she drew her sword as the Knight readied himself again. While not her usual blade, the plan should still be the same, let him lunge then step around and bring the blade down on his neck.

Raleigh stopped and realized how hard she was breathing. Indeed, that may have been the largest monster she'd ever hunted down, and she'd done it without a scratch. Rarely had she fought so impeccably. Yet her thoughts returned to the horrifying images that had flashed before her eyes during the heat of the battle.

What dark magic is this? I must be cautious...

Raleigh approached the woman slowly, making sure it was not a trap.

"Yes, I defeated the beast. Please, you must tell me what has happened here- what has happened to you! You look defiled, innocent one."

The sight and smell of the ravaged woman caused something to stir in Raleigh; she could not help herself, and by the time the two began to speak, Raleigh was soaked with her own fluids.

She silently swore to herself, seeing her attack do very little to the knight's armor, as expected. The warning shot near her feet caused her to snap her attention to the ranger, jumping away from where the bullet landed on instinct. Either he missed or he's just being cocky. Ertha gave no verbal reply to his own, though she turned to give him her full attention. The lieutenant could handle the beastly knight, but this one seemed intent on fighting her. A little too talkative too... she glared at him, quickly drawing an arrow from her quiver and firing it at the man's arm. If she was going to be in a ranged battle, she'd need to remove his advantage.

Just as Kiera and Alane where about to settle into the safe house she heard the faintest sound of a horn in the distance. "We'll have to pick up this conversation later Minerva, my companions are in danger if you could spare your help that would be appreciated." Said Keira as she readied her spear and made for the exit of the safehouse.
"Alane it may be best for you to stay here, we've got no clue when you're going to pop, and I'd rather you be in good hands than out on the street." She said and she hustled outside. She wasn't waiting to see if either Minerva followed, or if Alane had listened to her suggestion, the second she was on the street she was running off the way the Ertha had gown before, ready to strike at the first sign of danger.

Alane blushed when Minerva called her cute and said she'd heard as much from her mother. "She..uh..has a habit of saying stuff like that." She always found it a bit embarrassing when her mother sang her praises to people having a habit of overstating things when she did. She got serious nodding as Minerva got to talking about possibly freeing her mother from whatever mental hold these people likely have over her. "Yes, I'd really like to take her home to dad, so we can be a family again."

She listened closely as Minerva talked very vaguely about what happened last time she tried to leave the city. "R-really, we didn't see anything too out of the ordinary on the way in. Just one horse sized wolf." She suddenly realized why that would be slapping her head. "Oh right, they've been calling for sacrifices, so it wouldn't do them any good to scare them off before they've entered the city. Still, I wonder how it knows who's coming in and who's trying to leave." She was also curious where it stayed when it wasn't chasing escapees down. Eventually, they'll need to leave the city and that will require dealing with whatever this thing is. "You're being a bit overly vague. Just what is this thing?"

She nods when Minerva mentions the Royal Lichstadt Army. "Yes, I'm just a volunteer mostly to look for my mother. Now that we know what's going on though, I kinda wish there were more than four of us."

Alane tensed when Minerva talked about birthing the monster starting to panic a little. "W-what do you mean not 'born normally'?"

She turned as Kiera suddenly got ready to leave so suddenly. "Kiera, what are you talking about?" She hesitated when she was told to remain here clearly the woman believed that she would be more of a hindrance than a help which was quite upsetting. She'd come here to help and all she'd done is run off on her own and get herself knocked up with the child of Gods only knows what. She looked down depressingly. "Yeah, sure. Just be safe."

Ertha's arm still feels off as she prepares an arrow just for the cocky ranger. While she does hit his arm, Ertha does manage pierce his side.

Meanwhile, Rebecca and the knight confront each other. Dashing forward, the bestial knight starts with a low forward thrust. The blade nicks the side of Rebecca's thigh. But she gets a good idea of what he'll do next. With a twist of the wrist, he brings the blade upward towards your head. You step back avoiding the strike only for him to stop at waist height and attempt a horizontal slash. With a roll to the side, Rebecca is right where she needs to be to finish her opponent. With a mighty swing, Rebecca's sword is buried deep into the knight's neck. With a final death cry, he falls to the ground in a heap. To Rebecca's delight, the armor seems to be mostly intact.

Schwarzberg Ranger:

"Olbac!" The ranger shouts as Rebecca nearly decapitates the knight. Though he doesn't dare take his attention of Ertha. Instead he continues to train his rifle on the thief. When he pulls the trigger, he misses again.[/spoiler]

Alane and Keira

When Keira asks for Minerva's aid, she nods. "If you all are from the Royal Lichstadt Army, then you might be our best chance of stopping whatever it is the city is planning" She said as she grabbed a pair of daggers.

Just as the two are about to leave, she turns back to Alane. "I'll explain more when we return. But I have a few theories on who's controlling the more powerful creatures in the forest. We can talk when we're all together."

When Keira and Minerva have both left hideout, Alane feels someone wrap her arms around your shoulders. "I could tell just by looking at you. You're carrying something special" Turning around, Alane comes face to face with the pregnant woman from before. "You don't have to worry, giving birth to the Endless Ones is a pleasure unlike any you've felt before." She says gently rubbing her own gravid belly. "This will be my 10th child. Just imagining it makes my mind melt" Her eyes glaze over for a moment as small droplets of milk drip from her full bosom. Just as her hands drift downward, the woman with the book intervenes.

"That's enough Greta. Give the girl some space." Athena said as she guided Greta to a small bed. "I'm sorry for that. Her time as a captive has changed Greta and ... well most of us" Athena said with a solemn look. "I know Minerva introduced me, but I'm Athena. If you'll allow me, I'd like to examine you to see how far along you are"

Meanwhile Keira and Minerva run through the streets following Ertha's trail. It doesn't take long got them to find the sights of a battle field. When the two arrive, they see Rebecca and Ertha battling an armored knight with a rifle. While another armored knight lay bloody on the floor.

Turn Order (Revised):

Raleigh

"My name is Helen. I'm from a village close by. I'm suppose to be wed to a Schwarzberg noble. The something struck my wagon throwing me and my driver off course. With the wagon gone I tried to proceed by foot but got lost. That's how I ended up face to face with that creature." She said pointing to the boar. "I can remember it tearing away at my clothing with it's tusks until it finally tackled my and ... stole my virtue." Helen said with tears in her eyes. "It lay on top of my forcing it's spiralled thing inside of me. By the gods, what suitor would take my as their wife now. My village needed the dowry from this marriage."

Raleigh's worst fears for the woman were true.

"Don't lose hope just yet! We'll get you to the city, and find out the best way to help you once we're there. If the rest of the beasts in this forest are monsters like that boar... We may not last long. I can obviously defend myself, but..."

Raleigh wouldn't admit it, but she knew that she had gotten away from the last fight untouched only with a huge amount of luck. Regardless, she hoped that the city would have some sort of bounty on the beast, unaware of the city's true corrupted state. Raleigh had come here for adventure, not to slay forest creatures. This abysmal forest was giving her the creeps, anyway. At least she could retrace her steps, following the boar's tracks back down to that terrifying tunnel. But the trees were all so close together, making it difficult to see far. She could see how the woman lost her way. Finally, Raleigh searched the boar for anything useful and to reclaim some of her ammo, if possible.

Rebecca took a moment to catch her breath after felling the night, her hands shifting on the sword as she turned to face the ranger.

"Your turn," she growled, advancing as she dragged the bloody sword behind her, "You just had to do it the hardway, didn't you? Last chance, before you join your friend"

If the man didn't drop his weapon she would charge the last few metres, lashing out with the sword in hopes of striking the rifle from his hands.

That's one down... and with the extra backup that just arrived, it seemed as if victory was assured. She nodded a silent thanks to Keira, though it was quite likely that just her and the lieutenant could have taken the ranger and that the others were a bit late to the party. It still didn't change the fact that the knight had kept her promise and came at the sound of the horn, which was something of a pleasant surprise for Ertha.

The lieutenant's play of intimidation would probably work. They had a good number of fighters on field who could quickly take down the man if he doesn't surrender, and his friend's already dead... but of course, Ertha still shot an arrow aimed for the man's leg. It was both out of petty vengeance for shooting her arm, and to cut off any option he thought he had of escape.

Keira hadn't slowed down as she approached the ongoing battle. She had arrived just in time to see the still naked lieutenant nearly slash the head off of a Schwarzberg Knight. Keira also saw that both her companions had taken a few hits, Ertha's arm in particular looking mighty painful. She gripped down hard on her spear and ran it straight towards the ranger's back, she was done with letting these bastards surrender, they were going to die.

Alane nodded, Minerva was right. If the others were in trouble then that took priority to trying to secure a way back out of the city for those sacrifices trapped within its walls. She stood there in the unfamiliar room surrounded by people she didn't know in the slightest unsure of just what to do with herself until they got back. She tensed when she felt arms wrap around her from behind. The pregnant woman from before speaking to her as if they were both parts of something wonderful rather than being used to bring monsters into the world from lord only knows where. She was shocked to hear the woman was in the middle of her tenth such pregnancy. "S-so many, and you're looking forward to it." The thought of what must be growing in her body was terrifying. Just the memory of the scion that had impregnated her was bad enough, but she wasn't sure if she was giving birth to another one of those or something else.

She was thankful when Athena intervened leading the woman away. "Th-thank you, she's a bit scary. Especially considering..." She drifted off putting her hand on her gravid belly. "Anyway, yes Minerva said you were the closest thing to a midwife you had around here, so I guess I'm in your hands for now." She pulled her hand away letting Athena get to what she needed to. "It can't have been more than 10 minutes since it happened, so I'm not that far along yet."

The talkative ranger quiets down as Rebecca makes her threat and her backup arrives. Just as he's about to make a run for it, Ertha pierces his leg with an arrow. In mid stride he falls to the ground with a thud. It's here that Minerva throws one of her hidden knife into the Ranger's thighs. Flat on the ground he can't do much to defend himself against the knife.

The minute he attempts to stand up, Keira makes her move. With incredible speed and force, she bursts through the ranger's arm and impales him through the heart. There isn't even a chance for him to mutter any final words, merely going limp. As the battle comes to a conclude, Minerva is the first to speak. "We need to get out of here before more soldiers come"

By the time you were all together, the sun was done and night had fallen over the Isolated time.

Alane

Athena gave you a concerned look. "Let us move somewhere a little more private and I'll see what I can do." She says as Alane step into a small side room. Motioning for you to sit down. Taking a moment, she examines her pregnant belly. Using what looks like a small horn, she presses it against her stomach and listens.

"What you need to understand is these creatures have a shorter gestation time. Frighteningly short. I would say that your have five days before you will give birth. However, These monster's fluids have the ability to hasten the birth cycle. When In captivity, the birth cycle can be reduced to a day" Athena said as she paused for a moment.

"What's stranger is what's occupying your body. I can hear the heart beat of one creature along with the presence of several small eggs. But it's almost as if the one creature is feeding on the eggs" Athena says with a bit of shock.

Salvage Roll (Feat of Skill or Insight, Level 2: Need to roll 20 or greater)
Raleigh: 10 + 1 (Perception) + 8 = 19

You manage to carve out a bit of meat and part of the bear's pelt. But you can't recover any ammo.

Retracing your steps, you find yourself back at the base camp. What was once an abandoned sit was now completely occupied by two or three people. One was wearing a Miter and dressed in the robes of a Bishop, while the two others looked to be wearing heavy armor. But their movements seemed unnatural. You had a few moments to decide either to hide or introduce yourself.

"Helen!" Raleigh whispered. "Get down, hide!"

They took cover behind whatever was close by. Raleigh felt something about this city was amiss... What could cause giant boars to rape young girls? And why was there no army to speak of? Something had obviously happened here; the city seemed to be pulling some sort of trick on either its inhabitants, the visitors, or both. Raleigh, despite her previous motivation of simple adventure, realized she was determined to set things right for Helen and anyone else harmed by the city and the darkness that overwhelmed it.

Alane quirked her brow. Clearly, something she had said hadn't set well with Athena, but she wasn't sure what. Following quietly toward the side room, she decided to try and apologize in private. Even if she had no idea what she'd done wrong she had not intended to give offense. As she took her seat, she decided that was the chance. "Athena, I'm sorry if I said anything that bothered you." She was shocked to have heard what had been bothering the woman.

"Y-you mean I could be having this thing in days?!? Just what did those men put inside of me." She tensed when she mentioned what was strange about her pregnancy. "They mentioned the name En'debu during the ritual..Father Markus and his men, I mean. They said it was En'debu's scion. He did lay multiple eggs. I remember that along with the last one being bigger than the rest." She turned to the woman feeling very scared by all the unknown factors. "Just what did they impregnate me with?"

"No! You blithering idiot," Rebecca raged as the thrice cursed Little Princess suddenly showed up and felled the ranger, "I needed him alive!"

Hastening up, she shoulder her way through to check on the Ranger and cursed again as she saw he was well and truly dead. Glaring at Kiera, she relieved his corpse of his powder and shot, snagging his musket as she stormed back to the dead Knight to drag his body somewhere secluded to strip.

Ertha breathed a sigh of relief as the ranger made his own last breath, signifying the end of the action. She relaxed her tight grip on her bow, though just in case, she kept it in hand. The lieutenant ran off with the knight's armor, her very reason for starting their conflict in the first place. Ertha shook her head at her comments. "What's more important is that we survived. Things weren't looking so good at the start of the battle..." She said, offering some sort of kinda defense for Keira in an awkward manner. She honestly wasn't even sure how their backup found them, but she supposed it didn't matter.

Ertha agreed with Minerva's suggestion, and walked over to lean against the wall while she waited for the lieutenant. As usual, she closed her eyes, yet remained alert as she kept her sharp ears open to hear anything suspicious. Her horn was loud. If Keira had heard it, others had too, and odds were they'd be coming for them very soon.

Keira kept silent and glared angrily at the lieutenant. She had some nerve. Keira had done nothing but protect her companions, even when they were foolish and ran off alone. She pulled her spear free of the rangers torso and flicked the blood off in the air. "Lets get off the streets." She said, in a somewhat defeated tone.

Raleigh: 10 + 17(1d20) = 27

Raleigh and Helen Hide behind the bush as the Bishop and two guards look around the camp. You both wait in hiding, giving you a chance to listen in. Upon closer inspection, there is something ... inhuman about the Bishop's bodyguards. It looks less like they're walking and more like they're slithering along the ground.

"To think his Eminence would leave retrieving that item to me. This is grunt work better suited for the militia." He groaned as he continues to search the camp. Looking for something.

It most folk tales, it's presented as a greedy monster that consumed everything in it's path before being destroyed by it's own greed. Most of these tales are meant to teach children the virtue of restraint."

Athena then turns to her small pile of books. "I'm not entirely sure what's inside of you. But there might be some tomes on these creatures in the Royal Library in the Scholar's District. The students and professors were studying these creatures non-stop. You might find something their."

Rebecca worked silently as she stripped the wolf like man of his armour, she needed to be efficient and new opening her mouth would only lead to anger. Anger wasn't efficient.

She needed to find her father, if this city had done this to the Knight then who knew what it would do to her father if left for too long.

Buckling on his armour, she tried to drape the his cloak in a way to conceal the worst of the battle damage, shouldering the musket as she had done a thousand times as a low recruit.

"Goodbye" she said bluntly, moving to step out of the alley.
