Mex stood among the flames, a malicious smile curling her lip. Burning everything was just so fun..and just to think she had been hesitating a while ago..heh. She noticed the tentacles swinging up to bat her away, raising a hand to unleash a wall of flames to repel them. She was beat to the punch by Victor, though, his wind slicing through the offending tendrils like a white-hot knife through butter. Hm. Seems like he could do something besides making up stupid names, after all.
She raised her scythe, ready to cleave another chunk of plant matter when Sort yelled for them to retreat. The adrenalin of the battle lifted just slightly, enough for Mex to refocus on Sort's voice.
"Fall back? Why?"
Mex blinked in confusion, Ravenous still held above her in mid-swing. Her question was soon answered rather unpleasantly..a dark purple explosion blasting her clean off the pink blossom, landing unsteadily on her feet beside Sort. Cold seeped through her body..so much cold that even her innate fire magic wasn't enough to warm her.
"Nngh.."
She tried to raise a hand to summon her Flameform, but her hand moved like it was in slow-motion. She brought her head up with great effort, looking at the man who had replaced the gigantic plant. A Necromancer. One obviously way more powerful than Purple. This was bad..could it get worse? The ground began shaking..undead hands breaking out of their earthen tombs, dragging their bodies out. Mex sighed mentally. Of course it could. The Necromancer gave a laugh, firing a blast of magic at them, which Sort promptly deflected with his own blast of light magic. Mex gritted her teeth, trying to raise her hand higher. Her own body wasn't responding as she wished, due to that damn magic. Only Sort was capable of combat, it seemed. Damn it. She felt so helpless.
The Necromancer made use of his obvious advantage, pressing the offensive. He hurled several blasts of Necromancy magic, all of them promptly blocked by Sort's barrier shield. The dark magic did have the effect of exhausting Sort, though. As a last-ditch effort, Sort unleashed a final explosion of light, vaporizing all of the undead the Necromancer had summoned. Sort's war cry mixed into the blinding light along with the Necromancer's scream of pain..
"Ungh..Sort..?"
Mex murmured blearily, her eyes still frazzled by the light. The last thing she had seen was Sort glowing with light..then everything went white. At least the coldness had left her for now. What was that thing at her feet, though..
The flame mage blinked as her vision cleared. Sort lay at her feet.
"Sort!"
Mex cried out, immediately dropping to her knees and pressing a finger to his neck to check for his pulse. It was still there..he was only unconscious, then.. She turned her gaze to the Necromancer, hardening into a vicious glare full of hate.
"Light magic? I don't need it. I'm lighting you up just the same."
Mex growled angrily, stepping forward. Sort was at a safe distance, so she wouldn't have to worry about dragging him into the fight..
"Flameform."
She said, her voice uncharacteristically serious as she walked. The flaming armor materialized onto her person, just as she shifted out of this dimension. She had seen Kaz going straight for the Necromancer, swinging Tide's hammer form at his disgusting face. She would make good use of that..
"Getting hot in here?"
An disembodied voice said, the source of it made obvious as Mex reintegrated back into existence behind the Necromancer, bent low and swinging Ravenous at his legs the same time where Kaz's attack was going to smash into his face. He couldn't dodge both of those.
Sleep unbeknownst to I, this one lives in perpetual need of coffee..
