Chrystalis: Shattered World

Drayk and Angel
The light from the house quickly fades to nothiness as the area around you is illuminated by only the light from the torch. After a brief period of walking the subtle shimmering of substance out of the inky darkness alerts you to the presence of another light... nothing that is manmade from the looks of it. Before the two of you move closer to get a good inspection on the exit of the tunnel, however, Drayk stumbles upon something suprising. Drayk almost trips over a woman who's collapsed onto the floor, who appear to have been a nurse by the looks of it (yeah that's you grey-claw). She is at the moment unoncious, like something had made her fallen asleep, but her body stirs as Drayk bumps against her.

Kal and friends
While Kal doesn't see signs of anything unusual physically about this woman, it's really hard to tell without a full body inspection. Such actions however would not likely go unnoticed unless someone where unnaturally unconsciouss. It's been a while since this small group has heard from the rest, but Kal remembers there being a decent supply of rations on the bus. (remember you guys are free to interact and stuff while I'm not around, it's not one post per person. I should only need to butt in when you're exploring or doing some kind of difficult task.)

Katie blinks as she opens her eyes and stares into the light of a torch. Her eyes watered as they adjusted. After a few minutes of adjusting her eyes, she starees at the man kneeling over top of her. Instinctively, she looks down and is relieved to see that all of her clothes are still on her. She looks around once more and sees a woman standing behind the man. She had a broom handle in her hands and the man had a knife in his right and the torch in his left.

Kal looked at Amber "We have some rations, and we might as well head back to the bus I don't think we'll find anything else useful here at the moment, come on Emily let's take our new friend back." Kal turns and leads the out the building heading back to the bus, she might as well get Amber fed as well as find out if the others had found anything, she wasn't feeling hungry herself but that didn't matter she would need to eat at some point might as well do it now instead of later, though Kal knew she was going to need to find a way to properly check over Amber's body, thing s just didn't seem right with this place being so, abandonded as it was.

(We know Taria we were more letting Misc get a chance but I'll just drag him around for now.)

Freaked out by the random appearance of what seemed to be a run down and abandoned place Angel poked at the girl with her stick to see if she be with the dead or living, in this new set place that anything is possible she wanted to make sure she was just a girl so looking at her she asked"My name is Angel, and this is Drayk and yours?" she gestured to him and looked curiously and still a little bit in fear of why this girl just happened to be lying there.

Amber nodded and followed along looking not very happy with herself as she followed her new acquaintances. It was very nice of them to grant her food even if she barely knew them! Her stomach growled in happy agreement. It seemed to like the new people at least. Time to get to know her saviors,"Um... tell me about how you guys got here? Or more importantly why are you here? I can't seem to remember a damn thing about this town..." She said with a brow furrowed with concentration.

[MiscChaos]

"We're here to restock before going somewhere else. We seem to do a lot of moving." Emily says, full of her usual energy. "We ride around on a bus, just pickin' up new stuff. And people apparently. I don't have a problem with new people, but I dunno about everyone. People act weird sometimes. Well, more like all the time, but isn't weird just how we see things? It could be... let's not do this again." she cuts herself off. The debate on "weird" is one she's had with herself often and doesn't feel like doing again... right now. "Anyways, we're scouting for anything useful. Are you anything useful? Because if not, we'll probably have to go back to the mall we found you in."

[Grey-Claw]

"My name is Katie, nice to meet you. Where are we?" Katie looked down the tunnel, she saw nothing beyond the light of the flames. She stood up and put her hand against the walls to steady herself. She had a headache, making her suspect she had been hit on the head, or she had fainted.

Amber bites her lip and decides to tell the truth,"I'm a librarian... I might not be that useful to you all... maybe we better keep looking. Food can... food can wait." She said as her stomach rioted in protest but she ignored it. It was time to make a good impression on her saviors. She can't be considered useless.... that would be bad! They might not take her with them... and she didn't want to be left alone.

Kal looked at Amber shaking her head, "Food comes first otherwise your stomach will distract you from any help you could give, Emily you mind grabbing something for Amber." Kal had a few things on her mind, they were going to need fuel for one thing and she wanted to know if the others had seen anything, weird after reading the research notes she wondered if she should let some one know or keep quiet go a little longer.

"Kayy~, Kal." Emily says in an airy fashion, as if she's not 100% there at the moment. "If you're a librarian, you must've read a lotta books, right? I mean, I read lots of books, but librarians must read like 10 times what I do! Encyclopedic Knowledge! That's what I was thinking about! Do you have one?" she asks as she rummages around, trying to find something for Amber to eat without it heavily impacting their supplies. She bets someone would chew her out for just taking whatever and she'd really hate to have to use the baseball bat to shut them up. Mainly because she'd have to shut them up again and again and that seems like it'd take more effort than she's willing to use for that kind of thing. There are more fun things to focus on. Like exploring! She really wants to go back to that mall. There could've been some interesting things there.

Kal, Emily, Amber
As the trio walk back out to the bus, they are suprised to find that everyone who was there is gone. No trace left behind. Did everyone just leave and go exploring like the rest of them? It seem that the food is still here at least. Kal's police training allows her to recognize the signs of a struggle.

Katie
You vaguely remember seeing crystaline people. They were trying to abduct you and your friends... you think. Everyone at the hospital, even the sickly and injured were able to get up and walk again. Man your head hurts...

"Wait, what?" Emily says, sounding serious for once. Then again, if there was a situation that warranted seriousness, everyone up and disappearing would be it. She's hoping that they just left to go exploring, but the mechanic person didn't seem like he was going anywhere since he said he was gonna guard the bus. At the very least, the food's untouched. Emily readies her bat just because she has no idea what happened. "Amber, grab some food, I don't care what kind, and let's go. I don't wanna be here right now." she says as low as she can while being audible.

"Well we better move her, Come here pretty lady." Joe motioned her hand toward Katie and offered to pick her up off the ground, trying to prop her up she told Drayk to help.

Kal, didn't openly state the main problem with this scene, she did what she had been trained to do and looked around, "Emily, keep your bat close to hand, and don't leave my sight unless I say so." Kal didn't like this, and the signs of struggle had meant they hadn't gone quietly, but then why had the food been left behind. Obviously the people were the only targets, which could mean it was those creatures she had read about. "Amber, it's very important, do you remember anything about the chrystalist creature they were looking into." it might make her remember something she wanted to forget but Kal needed more information.

Drayk put his knife away and lifted Katie to her feet. "You remember anything?" He stared deeper into the tunnel, wondering where it ended. He got his knife back out and began to absent-mindedly yet again. It was a habit he had developed during his time in the army, before all of the chaos.

Amber does as she is told and quickly grabs a box full of the food. This was weird... apparently people were here and now they weren't... this didn't look good at all. Now Kal was asking her questions and she didn't know... so time to fess up,"Um... they just had me help them with books... I don't know anything that anybody else doesn't know... what do we do? Do we hide? Maybe they are here and that's what happened to me... I don't know how I was knocked out." She said with a frightened look as she went to Emily with the food.

"If your hurt iI have an Icepack.. But t's kinda melted away hun." Angel said as she picked up her icepack from her cooler and stuck it out to her, she thought it would still be cold; and better than nothing. She was just assuming however that this girl would be hurt.

Kal, Emily, Amber
A giant rumbling shakes the ground beneath your feet, and one of the older and worn down houses in the residential area collapses onto its side.

Katie, Angel, Draykt
The entrance to the crystal cavern vibrates wildly, like someone flicking a large tuning fork. The low sound isn't very perceptible, but it is enough to cause severe physical pain to everyone nearby. Some of the structures inside seem to be slowly getting up and moving, almost as if 'waking up. The once placid entrance to the cavern system is now filled with wild sound and motion.
