Roy climbed out of the APC and looked at the motel. "So this is Fort Augustine." He commented, noticing that everyone is going in or around the fort. Sighing Roy patted Meeple's snout and armed his vulcan. "Looks like its you and me friend."

Noticing that Lily's heading in, Vector decides to follow suit, and moves out from the APC to scout the area as well. No fancy pirouette or anything for him, though; he simply steps out of the vehicle and heads towards the base with a casual appearance in his walk, as his warsuit just isn't built for big acrobatics.

He stays at a certain distance from the others, however, keeping his path set to let him check areas that the others won't have a good look at right away. If any threats pop up, he'd rather they go for him first, as the others aren't quite as durable...probably not going to happen, but one can hope. At this point, he decides to set up his personal detection grid, which is mostly just a motion tracker, and a thermal imaging visor that he can toggle on and off (he has it off for now). "NATI, activate the motion tracker. If anything's lying in wait for us, I'd like to know in advance."

Roger sir. HUD interface has been updated. NATI replies, its work done cleanly and without any glitches. Though, the hot pink color of the tracker does seem to clash with the general blue tint of his interface. To this, Vector simply chuckles, and remarks: "Sticks out like a sore thumb, doesn't it?" Ah, how erroneous of me. You're too subtle for that. NATI replies with the closest thing an electronic voice can have to sarcasm, then changes the tracker's color to match the blue layout of his HUD. An AI with a sense of humor...the stuff modern technology can do is crazy, nowadays.

The Water Tower
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

From the top of the water tower, Mex and Noelle couldn't see much going on other than the team splitting up and going their seperate ways. It was a good view, though, and plenty of the windows could be seen through. They could tell that only the first-floor windows had been barred, and the second floor ones were unprotected. A few were broken, but the damage too extensive for small arms fire. It's a fair bet that they were simply left to the ravages of time as the Fort didn't have adequate materials to maintain them.

Movement could be seen inside the fort on the second floor. Something big and humanoid, definatly. Unfortunatly, because it was light outside and dark inside, it was hard to make out any details. On the plus side, nothing had emerged into the lot

The black marks on the roof started to look more and more like tears in the actual structure of the building, like something either tore it's way out, or it's way in

Emile, Luna, and Jessica
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The three of you burst through the main enteryway into the Fort, the door swinging open easilly as it was not barred from the inside. The scene is quiet different to outside as you can see a few scattered Mutant corpses. They were small, scuttling things with multiple legs, chitin ccarapaces and large mandibles coming out of human heads. The lack of spent casings imediatly visible suggested that this was a surprise attack. There were no soldiers to be seen, but the sounds of things moving furthur in meant that battle would be joined very soon

Nina
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Deciding to go out on her own, Nina runs off towards the barracks, deciding to do exactly the same thing as before the team left their home base. The barracks were on the west wing first floor. There were signs of a struggle all over - several Mutant corpses as well as a couple of Humans. A loud slurping sound could be heard as three gelentionus Mutants drop down off the ceiling and advance on her, their singular eyes all locked on her body. She was surrounded, and sepperated from the others...

Lilly
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Like the others, Lilly advances off into the building on her own through a side door and ends up in the east wing. The room she entered was likley once used as a storehouse as there were plenty of cans of food and bottles of drink on the shelves, and strewn around the place. It was quite a large room and, as she stepped inside, something moved in the shadows at the far end. A large beast emerged - it appeared to be a 7-foot long centipede, but each one of it's 'legs' actually resembling Human arms. A semi-bestial face complete with antenne and multi-faceted eyes stared down at her. A muffled groan drew Lilly's attention to the Mutant's abdomen only to find one of the Fort's female stall being held tightly against it by many arms, and seeminly currently in the process of being raped! Especially if those two things pulsating between her legs were the Mutant's cocks....

Thurim
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Deciding to check out the armoury in the rear west wing, Thurim enters the building and looks around. Alot of weapons were still on the racks, and there were boxes of unspent ammunition stacked up against the walls. It seemed that the Mutants didn't have any intention of using them. Especially since two giant crabs with four arms each pounced out of the shadows beyond and through the door, charging right at him

Roy and Meeple
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Roy and Meeple remain outside for now, ready to respond where needed
(Sorry- very tired)

Vector
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Vector moves into the main building's east side, scouting out the various rooms as he goes. There's not alot of interest in them, appearing abandoned, but with signs of battle everywhere. Small things scuttle out of his way that may be local insects, or may be Mutant larva. It is hard to tell the difference. Furthur off he sees Lilly head into one of the side rooms and, shortly after, two gelatinous blobs fall from the ceiling to block the doorway behind her. It seems that they are focussed on the woman in front of them, and not the armoured cyborg a short distance away

She fired at the one infront of her and pulled out her knife and held it with her left hand using the arm to support her handgun as she shot at the mutants

Emile looks around the room, scaning the room for the signs of battle. After seeing them he reports into the comm. "This is Emile with team Alpha. The main building's first room is full of dead mutants and spent casings. No signs of any humans so they were probably dragged further into the building or retreated which seems to point towards this was an ambush. That means there are probably a bunch of other mutants lurking around waiting to surprise the rest of us so watch your backs and report in frequently if you find any trouble. We might be close enough to help. But for now I'm moving further into the building. Emile out." He kicks one of the dead mutants bodies while listening to something moving around. He turns to Luna and Jessica, smiling through his helmet. "We got some mutants coming our way. Lets say hello." He takes a postion next to the door the mutants are coming from and waits for them to pop their ugly heads past it.

*Lily felt the effect of a 'slow-motion' status going into play, suppressing any other action besides aiming her pistol into the face of the centipede as it was in the process of raping a human female. Disgusting..

She would have squeezed the trigger of her automatic pistol, having aimed it at the face -- or whatever in the world that was, doing a roll to the side and quickly sending another set of bullets towards the beast's cocks. Thus then, looking around the bottles for anything that might be set into fire, preferably wine. Grabbing one and throwing it upwards in the air and taking a deep breath, sending two bullets into the bottle to create the 'fire' effect before it fell onto the mutant and the female..

Hadn't she heard that once in the process of such, a female would be forever infected?.. What a shame. But, she would now be determined to -exterminate- whatever other bugs were in the place.

''I have a hostile centipede-being in my position! There is a high chance for hostiles to be in the area! Humans as well!'' Lily had yelled at her comm, thus beginning to use her agility to make her way across the place; going around it while shooting at the centipede, on the move.

What the hell were those marks? Definitely mutant, that was for sure..but they were huge. A new species? And it wasn't like they didn't have enough to deal with already..Goddamn.
"Got your six as long as you're in the open. If not, keep to the windows and your ass is good to go."
Mex stated plainly as she observed the others moving out through her rifle's scope, Lily and Nina on their own, Vector rolling out solo Transformers-style, Luna, Emile and Jessica moving as a group and lastly, that Chinese dude Roy with..a fuckin pony. The hell?
"Ask no questions and question not your sanity."
Mex muttered, shaking her head in disbelief.
''I have a hostile centipede-being in my position! There is a high chance for hostiles to be in the area! Humans as well!''
The sniper perked up as Lily's voice yelled out through the comm. A centipede-thing? Woo, lucky she was all the way back here. Insects. Ew.
"Gotcha, Lily."
Mex whispered into the comm as she flicked the heat sensors of her scope on. Rudimentary equipment when you needed to cover people in buildings from outside. The heat scans showed Lily's figure moving quickly and a grotesque form even on the red-blue-yellow colors of the heat scan, a 7 foot centipede-looking mutant. Yuck.
She steadied her aim, the crosshairs settling on the centipede..and pulled the trigger. Raven's barrel roared and the sniper round screamed death and pain as it corkscrewed through the air, towards the centipede.
Sleep unbeknownst to I, this one lives in perpetual need of coffee..

Thurim's reflexes kicked in as he pulled the trigger, aiming for their soft parts. He also readied himself to draw his chainsword in case if they manage to get near of him.

Noelle grimaced, laying prone in silence for a while with her finger ready on the trigger. Perhaps the marks were indicative of some new mutant, or maybe it was just a sign they were getting smarter -- more aggressive. She supposed it didn't matter.

Most of the time until a sudden battle broke out was spent scanning around, getting an excellent feel for the environment. Between her and Mex, most of the angles overlooking the fort were covered. The windows were not bulletproof, but rather sealed with metal bars; Noelle was competent enough to shoot through those from this position.

She puffed on her cigarette when the radio line lit up with chatter out of nowhere. The girl didn't even shirk. This was what she had expected. It was a quick process to situate her comrades and poke holes in the obstructions blocking her line of sight. Windows, tears in the walls...most stuff was wide enough to shoot through.

She sighed and relaxed into a shooting position. Her heart beat was becoming heavier, but not faster. Her hands...were still as stone.

Mex was quick to cover Lily. Noelle figured she was competent enough to deal with one mutant by herself, and so panned over to Emile, Luna and Jessica. Through the cracked windows, numerous targets were visible, and the nimble Noelle focused herself for a shot immediately.

"Die." she growled, almost inaudibly, and the shot from her rifle was loosed just behind Mex's, busting through the window towards one of the mutant's center of mass. She immediately pulled back with lightning speed to the bolt to eject and load a new cartridge, rapidly following up with a second shot aimed at another of the mutants. And again, she pulled back the bolt and loosed a third shot. Despite her haste, she was uncannily focused. Her hands still didn't shake and she seemed as relaxed as ever. As she usually did, she aimed for the most likely place to deal a significant injury on a mutant: the spinal cord. Severing it would always paralyze them due to their biology, without exception.

Luna looked over at Emile as she listened to the chatter on com. "Since when are we 'Team Alpha', Emile? I mean, we should have at least asked the others, if they... argh! Alright, whatever" For just a moment, she closed her eyes to paint a mental picture of the situation. Indeed, if you are cultured to be a perfect warrior, that is one of the most... helpful qualities, when working together. In her mind, she ran through the reports of Fort Augustine, she had read on her way here, combining them with the ways, the others were about to take, as Jessica, Emile and herself entered through the main door. While she ran through those scenarios, she gripped her weapon harder with two hands, aiming it at the main corridor. She heard the shots coming from another part of the building, than the other two others bursting through the roof.

With an audible clicking sound, she changed the setting of her machine gun to automatic fire and along with it to common munition. Being a bit crazy about her weapons, Luna had convinced one of the mechanics working at the main base to install some extras to it. Such as an extra space for another sort of ammo to be included and switched to. In this case it was her favorite sort of ammo, explosive one. Though they rarely have a terrible kind of malfunctioning at the worst time, exploding in the barrel of the weapon. So for Luna's safety, which she cared less for than the safety of those around her, the mechanic made sure that the other ammo could only be fired in semi-automatic mode. You could elect not to fire, should you bullet get stuck in the barrel and if you are quick enough, you could remove it, before it exploded. However, this sort of destruction was quite unnecessary against the small mutants, especially within the building. "Even thought they are coming, we should better be going to look through the base. Even with Veci, Mex and Noelle on the outside, we shouldn't stay here for to long. Maybe there are still a few survivors deeper in the base that need our help. Even if not, I don't want these monsters to gnaw at my sweets!", Luna's voice sounded quite serious, compared to her usual chatter. At least until she turned to the last few words... The visor in front of her eyes increased the light in the room, so the few rays of sunlight from the outside would be enough for Luna to see normally. She was ready to move forward, yet waited for Jessica and Emile to agree or disagree with her plan, keeping her machine gun at the ready for any mutant that would dare to get in front of her weapon. Prepared to blast it to shreds with a salve of lead.

[link=][/link]Seeing the two blobs drop down to set up their ambush on Lily, Vector decides to take initiative, and fires two 4-shot bursts from his SMGs at the blobs (one burst each), "raking" each burst to spread over as much of their bio-matter as possible. If he can simply find a control point for those slime-things, such as a brain-type organ, he can knock them out of commission. Either way though, that just exposed his position, so he flips out his switch-blade, its edges humming from the frictional regulators hooked up to it.

<technology note: frictional regulators deploy a "sheath" of kinetic energy around the blade's edges, which balances out frictional force in order to optimize the blade's incisive - or cutting - ability. In short, it will cut with equal efficiency at any speed, helping to compensate for the weight of Vector's warsuit.>

It's at this point that Vector hears Lily's transmission, followed by the ensuing firefight, and replies over the comms: "Copy that, Lily. Currently splattering a few slimes that tried to sneak up on you, before I join you for some fire support. Try to save some for me, would ya?" He chuckles a bit with that last sentence, while keeping an eye on his own motion tracker, ready to engage any new hostiles nearby.

<With all due respect, sir, should we not prioritize the larger target in range?> NATI remarks, to which Vector replies: "I think you underestimate Lily's skills. You've seen her records, right?" <I have, sir, but first-hand data of her field ops remains-> *sigh* "NATI: mute." With that voice command, NATI shuts itself up, letting Vector devote his mind more fully to the skirmish.

Nina
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Your pistol fires, and three rounds embed themselves in the Mutant infront of you, causing it to staggar back. The other two lurch forward with sticky apendages. The first one manages to wrap it's tednil-like arms around you right leg, while the other attempts to grapple your left arm

Emile and Luna
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The sounds get closer and, within a few seconds, four gians scorpions, each with a skull on the tip of their tails, emerge into view. They stop a few metres away, having spotted you, and crowd together. The two at the back flick their tails forward, a green gloop erupting from the mouts of the skulls, and launcing in your direction

Lily
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The beast lurches forward and collides with the first round, snapping it's head back and to the side. It seemed that it's carapace had been cracked from the impact rounds. The next rounds caused it to let out an inhuman squeak as the rounds ripped through it's exposed cocks, half-severing them, causing them to bleed horrifically, and causing it to drop the woman it has holding. The final rounds smashed through a bottle of alcohol, spilling it's contents across the room, and igniting. The woman was spreayed and started to thrash about as she burned, but the beast surged forward, part on fire, and aimed to grapple Lily to the ground. However, it let out a piercing shreik as something hit it in the side, causing it to skew off and slam into some metal shelving with a fresh new wound in it's side

Mex
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Taking careful aim down your sights, you loose a single round toward the huge form of the centipede Mutant as it surged forward on a collision course for Lily. The sudden fire in the room, unfortunatly, obscures what is going on, and all that you can tell is that the round went through the Motel brickwork. However, given that Lily's heat signiture is still seperate from the mess, it's a fair bet that you managed to stop it from pouncing on her, and doing who-knows-what

Thurim
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Fireing your pistol, you hit the first crab-mutant in the face, causing an eyestalk to blow off, and it to stagger back in obvious pain. The other one moves in against you and uses two of it's craws to grab your arm, preventing you from using your sword against it. It's two other claws begin to rake at your warsuit, searching for a way inside

Noelle
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Lining up your shot, you let loose in the direction of 'group alpha', the shot whizing past them and into the gloomy darkness beyond. You are rewarded with the squeal of something being hit and slumping over, but not one of the scorpion mutants. You must have his something that was sneaking through the shadows to flank the others" Anything else trying that tactic would have to think again...

Vector
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Blazing away, you unload several rounds into the two slime blobs, causing matter to explode off in random directions. The first shivers and convulses, while the second seems to grow an eye and glare at you. The second then advances on your position, dragging itsself through the first one and absorbing it's mass, becoing a good 60% bigger than it was before! It is, however, slow.

Vector smirks with satisfaction as the blobs get matter-splattered. Then, they seem to fuse into one single, monocular form, which glares at him with notable malice, and begins sloshing towards him. At the pace it's going, he could pretty much just wait until it's right in front of him, then shoot it in the eyeball, just to be all chill-badass-like...

...but the time between then and now is plenty for any other creatures to ambush him. Nah, better to deal with the living splooge-bucket right here and now. To that end, Vector points his SMG at the blob's eye, and fires off another 4-shot burst at the creature's eye, using knowledge of a classic weak point to his advantage. If that's not enough, then he simply charges forward and about 45 degrees to the blob's left flank (i.e., to Vector's right), side-swiping its eyeball with his switchblade. Here's hoping that whatever snotty gunk that thing's made out of is easy to clean off...

Luna looked at the giant scorpions curiously, well at least before she noticed the heads on their tails. She shot a quick look at Emile, before instinctively letting one of her hands move to one of her homemade explosives on her belt. Her eyes focused on the scorpions in front of them again. "Eeew! Look at those... I mean, come on... Well, you know what to do, Drunkard!" While she spoke, she threw the bottle filled with chemicals at the four mutants in front of her, while stepping to the side, so whatever this green slime was wouldn't hit her. While she stepped towards the wall next to the corridor the creatures were coming from, she switched the lever of her ammo back to EX-ammo. She hadn't expected any of the large mutants in here...

However, not that she was worried. Her joyful smile only turned into an awkward expression for a moment, as she saw the goo spurting at her. Than she let her own weapon return the fire, the first few shots aimed at her own 'grenade' to ignite it, while the other two were aimed at the heads on the tails of the nearest two scorpions. Upon the first hit, the bottle would ignite (Like this) just as it was between the group of mutants. "Hehe! Let's set their asses on fire! Wohoo!" Of course, Luna was happy to test her experiment in the field, against real mutants. She had used it under close supervision against dummy target, to see if it had any effect at all. Luna clicked the lever again, switching to normal rounds. She kept moving, ducking behind the wall for cover, while hopping that Emile could handle the other two. Whether or not, she was ready to stop any mutant trying to move in the room, keeping her eyes and ears open for any treats. She heard a bullet pierce through another mutant close to the room they were in, obviously Noelle was covering their flank well enough already.

Emile rolls to the side before letting lose a conentrated burst of fire. "Luna get to cover and lay down a covering fire. I'm going to engage the them up close soon." He switches out his assault rifle for his pistol and his energy sword be he doesn't ignite his weapon and he keeps shooting.

she holstered that and fluidly pulled out her Uzi and let out a burst at the one trying to get her arm before kicking the one that grabbed her leg inf the face
