DEMIGODS IC

Postby jayjaycaps » Sat Feb 25, 2012 6:46 pm

The Story: For years, the Greek and Roman armies have been fighting a war. The Romans have begun to pull ahead, being more naturally skilled in combat. The Greeks have become desperate, knowing the Romans will not stop until they have conquered all.

But now, and new threat has emerged. From the north came a massive army, composed of the worst types of monsters you could think of. This army decimated the front lines of both sides, staking their own claim, separating the two armies. Knowing that another attack like that would completely destroy the two sides, they have joined forces to eliminate this new threat (though not all agree with their choice). After searching for the source of this attack, the two factions have discovered a simply MASSIVE palace. The monsters have been pouring out of it, showing no signs of stopping.

You, along with five others, have been group together to eliminate this threat. You are not the first to enter this palace, several other groups have been sent it, although none have come back out. You must find out where these monsters are coming from, and stop them from returning.

You find yourself in a wagon, sitting across from the members of the opposite faction. You are being taken to the Palace doors, giving you some time to talk together. Use it wisely.

Anor idly rubs his leather armor between two fingers as he looks at the Romans who have been sent to do this, humming softly while he does. It seems they've sent a hunter, like him, a mage and one of those "preator" characters he's heard rumors about. Still, despite their countries' war, he isn't above giving them a gentle smile. Though, he's a bit nervous to actually SAY anything, and that is rather apparent.

The mage eyed the row of fighters, her eyes taking in their appearances thoughtfully. The Greeks had a warrior who looked about as smart as his shield, but no doubt his fighting prowess would prove invaluable. She might want to keep him close, despite being a Greek. After all, they'd all need each other if they were going to stop this threat. She'd been one of the people who suggested this ceasefire. After they were all done, they could return to ripping out each others' throats for all she cared.

Nestria smiled wryly, looking around at everyone. "This looks like a very interesting group. We'll have to make sure we work together though." She placed a hand gently on Paysanias' leg. "And we have to keep each other safe." She smiled up at him warmly.

Agustus looked at the greeks in front of him. Barbarians they were. He didnt trust them. Rome had many enemies, gauls, germans, cathagans, greeks, and many more. Before the might of Roman arms many had fallen. And now these monsters. Agustus wished he had his legion with him instead of these worthless barbarians but these were what was given to him, and he was going to make most of it.

Aelia composed herself as professional as possible. She normally wasn't a fan of being uptight, but she was not willing to give the Greeks who sat opposite to her, much less the Praetor who she sat directly to the left of, any keen insight into her distaste for the Roman Legion's stringent rules just yet. She kept her legs together on account of her leather skirt and her hands folded loosely across her lap, staring stiffly past the person in front of her.

She ignored the idle conversing, the strands of her hair whipping at her face somewhat with the breeze.

Anor scratches the back of his head, still feeling a little nervous, but decides to respond to the Roman. "Yeah... I've been told little about what we're going against exactly, but having a sense of teamwork would make things smoother... ahaha..." He looks down for a moment, then back up with bolstered confidence. "Er... I'm Anor...?" he said a bit awkwardly, since he never really started introductions before.

The cart driver shouts back at you without turning his head. You can all tell from his heavy accent that he is Greek. "You six sure are brave, volunteering to do this. I heard Jason and his Argonnaughts themselves went into this Palace. That was a year and a half ago, and no one has come out alive yet."

"Heyy, you needn't judge so hastily. If they were our brothers and sisters, you would not be singing the same tune. I have high hopes for a certain... team spirit, for lack of any other words," he says turning to Lina. Then he looks back at his knees. "I do fear for Jason and his lot, though..."

"Like hell. You Romans probably can't figure out something as simple as 'alpha or not alpha'" she said leaning back on her logic.

"Imbeciles..." Aelia sniffed under her breath, feeling somewhat tense at the suddenly hostile climate of their six-person group. She is, however, not interested in any swaggering displays of bravado amounting to nothing, so she turns her head away to focus on the passing scenery. The gods would ultimately decide who came out alive from this trip, not some mortal's venomous opinions, or so she thought.

Agustus held himself in the face greek womans insults. He ignored Lina and instead looked at his fellow romans.

Nestria met Augustus' gaze, returning it with a bemused smile. She had known of him from his prestigious exploits, although she'd never spoken with him face-to-face."You seem like the only one with any sense around here..." she muttered, shaking her head. "Of course, what use is bringing a leader like you if no one is going to follow you..."

She turned to Anor, noting that he'd likely be a lot more cooperative than Aelia. She couldn't help feeling the nagging temptation to try to see what Aelia would look like getting run over by a cart, but she kept that notion to herself. "I'm Nestria," she replied to him. "I don't care what you lot have to say about us Romans, but Augustus here is the best tactician that we got here, so we might as well make use of him."

The cart suddenly becomes much more bumpy, turning off of the dirt path you had previously been on.And suddenly you can see it: A massive, simply MASSIVE palace looms over head in the distance. The walls seem to be made of some metal darker then night, and a large tower looms over the top of the main building. A large, equally black wall easily 5 stories high surrounds the building. How no one has noticed this building before is beyond explanation.

You are running out of time for introductions. You will arrive shortly.

Anor looks up at the building, rubbing the back of his head. "I hope we will put him to good use... In fact, I hope to see all our talents used. Just... not at each other. Ahaha..." He cringes at his bad joke, looking a bit ashamed from telling it, yet also intimidated at the sight of the temple...
