Status update and offering help

Hey all,

It's been forever since I've posted last. In an attempt to ball park progress on A52, I've gone through most of the threads and noticed a pretty large gap in between high activity posts and the few recent ones. I'm not sure if there is a final release plan but to get a rough idea of how you guys are doing, could anyone post a progress percent compared to the final product in a few categories? (animation, artwork, sound, music, programming)

The estimate doesn't have to be precise (range from 10-20% margin of error). If there are any trouble spots, please list them as well. I'm not sure how each team member's spirits are on completing A52 but I hope progress is above 50% in each category.

While this project has gone through many different renovations and, sadly, wildly different changes, I'm sure there is a solid foundation for the core game. Plus, I hate having on-going projects left unfinished, not sure if that's how it is for you guys but hopefully I can help out to finish A52 for within this year.

I'm a programmer and have experience in making games. The code I write is pretty clean and I write enough comments so someone else can understand it. There have been projects that I've managed, programming and non, so I can help divide up the tasks and any other managing help. As far as animation goes, as you can see from my flash trial post, not solid but have experience there as well. As far as artwork, story, and music, I can be another critic (I tend to be very thorough and ask lots of questions).

Hopefully I'm not too late but I'd like to be part of the team. As a good teammate, I won't try to manage what's being managed. Sign me up and you guys have me till the end =D.

I thought you would have caught on from the last posts, maybe I didn't say it in this actual section of the forum. Area 52 is dead, all we have to show for it is what's already been posted. You were hoping no less than 50 percent progress, I think we'd do good to have 10 percent done. On top of that everyone quit, we're all sick of the project (and in some cases, each other.)

I suggest PMing katsu, he mentioned something about a 'plan b' that i can only assume he's been working on in secret.

Oh...I must of missed that thread...Well that kinda sucks.

I'll pm katsu and ask him about plan b, thanks trunks. I don't want to have all your work to go to waste so I'll try and come up with something. If I can't find some info, could I pm you about it trunks? I don't want to bring up bad times so it wouldn't be a problem if the answer was no.

I saw some threads that had bits and pieces but didn't see a thread that had everything. I'll do some more searching

To be honest i'm tired of anything LoK related, so I'd rather just stay out of any future projects anyone has.

so are you guys going to lock area 52 down and let who ever is working on lok now salvage what ever they can/want?

The stuff that was produced has all been released I think, so it's literally there for anyone to use that wants it, whether for a LoK project or any kind of spin-off or even unrelated game.

Since you mentioned locking though, I'm thinking it's probably best to lock this forum from future posts, as the same questions are being asked. I'd hoped to just leave it open in case some people came together to work on what was released, but they could just as easily do that in the creative corner. If any of the Area52 team members want to post a final message to be made into an announcement or sticky, clarifying the usage of materials posted here, then I'll lock up the forum for posterity, it can always be unlocked again if something changes.

I got nothing, I pretty much agree.

Everything's here I think, I'd double check with the others to make sure nothing is floating around somewhere but there shouldn't be anything else.

I'm all in favor of locking this forum unless a new group wants to try and work on LoK, in which case they are welcome to our scraps, see if they can't use some of what we madel, and hell they can rename this section whatever they want to.

Like I told theadeal in Minecraft, once my small team of indy devs at my job finish or give up on project zeta (its basicly 2nd life but smalle and better), we might take up project 52.

However, I'm not sure they will want to do a furry rape game XD
