This might come of offensive/anoyying, as I'm certain it has been mentioned beyond infinity, but as I see things, the project has gone from "small mini game for our enjoyment" to "Furtendo newest release", and i remember reading a "Greed is good" thread a while back, but aren't we a lil' too ambitious here? it seems astho we plan to skip vr0.4, no vr0.3 even, and jump staright to 1.0 o.o.

I was hoping itd be broken down a lil for an slightly earlier release, afterall, its been [atleast or roughly] a year now since any proper updates.

Do you know why they didnt have any earlier releases, there isnt any. what they got in the devcorner (I was a Member so do know for sure what you find) is basecly nothing. Of course they had some of the models done but still it wasnt even all done and its been like a year.

Click that blue text where it sais "Legend of Krystal Team" and you may be a bit chocked, i see: one guy that have quit, one guy that isnt showing up, one more guy that have quit, one guy that seems to not dissapear fully but not seems like he havent really done anything that is making it go forward and a guy that dont give what he said he was going to give.

Dont worrie guys there will be a v0.3 but not by this "team" and no i dont want to spam this but we (area 52 team) are working on it and we will get it done. I dont tell you this because i want to be a dick or anything, i tell you because i want everyone to know the truth.

We're not jumping to the final version, hell for the most part what we are doing is remaking what was already in the story with updated models, backgrounds, coding, etc., and adding two new areas.

The final version of the game will have a lot more areas to visit, both in saura, and other nintendo worlds, but for now the actual new stuff as in new to the story is minimal. But even a cosmetic upgrade takes time, especially if you can't find the right team to work with.

I should point out that in that time we've had a number of artists start working on the game, only to stop, usually for real-life reasons. While your enthusiasm can't be faulted, even simply overhauling the graphics on PlayShapes' v0.1 is a fair amount of work that takes a lot of time. While it'd certainly be great if you manage to get through all the necessary characters and remodel them all, it'll still take time and you can't guarantee you'll make it that far. Just wanting to point out that splitting alone won't guarantee results, as all the same pitfalls are there anyway.

Also, not to be pedantic (though clearly failing miserably) but the Area 52 group's version number would be a v0.1, as the LoK team started with PlayShapes' v0.1, extended it to v0.2, and the next step is v0.3. The Area 52 group is essentially an all-new project creating everything from scratch except the core ideas, as you're creating new assets for the whole thing with no intermediate step(s).


Anyway, I'm moving this into the Area 52 forum now, as the topic is really about that project anyway. The LoK team project still grinds on, slow yes, but I've no plans to give up

Its not that many more characters we have to do so im sure i can guarantee that we will get all of them done. we got a new krystal model done (made by ron pepper), fox (me), sharplaw (traced from ptoon) and general scales (traced from ptoon) done so the only we need is a new lizgirl and two more charaters which i dont know if i want to talk about but thats it for now.

@Lord Panzi i think you are going to like him alot better in armor but unfortunately you wont see it before the first beta i think. I dont think we can get a better sharpclaw than that anyways.

in regards to the character models, depending on how the fans react after they see them (be it in samples or in the game) stuff can get changed if it's outright hated, like the huge ass edit that ren made, it was agreed upon early on that that would be scrapped. Likewise if enough people flat out reject these models, we'll have to replace them with something else, if ronpepper and katsu can't come up with something, I'll try my hand at it.

im under the impression that theres more fighting going on that there is teamwork, atleast between a select few. I have no room to criticize, i've been waiting patiently since the first release and have been watching these boards for months, only joining a month ago, and all ive seen so far is arguing between people.

look, if theres a way i can help i will, im good with tech and can spare a few bucks for a donation if that would help. i know that making flash porn isnt something you do at work around ur buddies and that it will take time to get things done, but thats why there is a team right? let me know if i can help at all, im also a good mediator

@txm: 1) Our legal staff advises against us taking any money because we are using trademark characters. That's a no-no. Since we are actually putting forth the effort every day to finish all the requisite content, you could hardly say that any of us needs motivation. We already have it.

2) There is fighting, but not in the Area 52 team. Yes, there are a lot of decisions to make but we avoid problems by segmenting most of the work. When the story writers ask for feedback, we give it. When there are disagreements, we settle things over chat instead of a protracted, public flame war. So all this public stuff you are seeing, don't sweat it.

just to add on to what RP said, the fighting you saw was with the OLD team. namely with Ren, we are no longer affiliated or affected by what he wants, so there goes half the conflicts right there. And as RP said, if we have ideas we dissagree on, we talk it out online and get the issue resolved within a few hours tops.

RP thats a pretty one sided point of view on the sitution, no-one can see the whole picture so don't act like you can. I wish you could just move instead constantly going about the same problems over and over again espically as it didn't involve you in the first place. Doing this only causes more problems, remember he has given you a section of the site to do what you want. So even after all that It isn't particular clever to continue prodding him with a stick. Only reason I'm saying all this is because I have seen the same bitching comment so many fucking times that it is really starting to piss me off!
By the way the arguments haven't been going on for whole year just to clarify.
